Nice, safe campground just off US 77 south of the Arkansas River, south edge of Arkansas City, KS. Park is still growing with new sites being added. Shade trees throughout the park. Every site is 50 amp. Good easy hookups including cable hook up.....I didn't have to use my cable. Hard packed gravel roads and sites...no need for blocks to level. Russ (owner) very obliging, hospitable. Russ helped us with a mechanical problem with the 5th wheel and would not accept any pay. I would have had to pay a service call if he hadn't jumped in with some tools. Really liked the "family" atmosphere.....if you camp there, you become family. We will camp at Cherokee Strip CG again when in the area. We camped at Cherokee Strip Campground in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

This is a nice park with full hookups and at the edge of town close to the Arkansas River and just a couple of miles from three casinos. Pretty setting and good access to Hwy 77 with nice shade trees and friendly service. There was a pizza place at the park and the pizza was very good, some of the best we had ever had. Arkansas City is a nice county town that has almost everything. We paid $25, this was a good deal for us, parks with good Hwy access and location like this one are normally $40, plus $5 for 50 amp and $5 per person if more than two. We will stay here again when we travel this way. We camped at Cherokee Strip Campground in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

We camped here overnight on the way to South Dakota. We missed it the first time but were able to turn around and get back to it. It is slightly out of town. Nicely treed with paved pads. There owner was super helpful in getting us parked as it was night when we got here. Quiet and clean. Good spot for an overnight. We camped at Cherokee Strip Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

Second time we have stayed here. Good place, clean, owners are friendly, sites have nice concrete pads. Pizza place is right in front part of RV Park and it's pretty good. Sites are close together and trees are great for shade but not always good for satellite. Have family in this area so we will stay here again. This basic campground is a "work in progress" with long level pull-through sites. The sites are close together; however, campground was only l/4 occupied so we all had space between us. Easy 50 mile drive to Wichita. Very interesting museum just outside the campground that is a "must see". Friendly staff. Next to office is pizza take out parlor run by the same staff. Pizza very good. We originally planned a one night stay but extended to two to visit the town of Arkansas City which has an interesting history as the Last Gateway to the Old West with their role in the Cherokee Strip Land Run, and a nice architectural walking tour of their National Register Historic Commercial District. We would stay here again. We camped at Cherokee Strip Campground in a Motorhome.Undo
