This park is a bit rough, but you can't beat the (discounted) price. We've never had full hookups for less money. Everything worked fine, and the site was pretty level. It took a little while to get registered (there were no envelopes in the self-registration booth) but we tracked down the very helpful manager and he got us processed and set up pretty quickly. The biggest negative was that the walk to the restroom (one toilet and no sink) took more than five minutes from our site. However, you can't beat the price. We camped at Lakeside Recreational Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Two major issues: unfriendly towards dogs and poor water. Our dogs and the neighbor's were simply talking to each other briefly mid day and second time the owner's dog was loose, running up and down our our pet fence. Our dog loves that and some barked in fun. We were told we may have to put our dogs in the 5th wheel, but they just bark more knowing we are outside.

Worse..water coming into sink was cloudy with mosquito larvae and other brown specks. Friends boiled water and the calcium ruined the pan. No way was I going to take a shower in this.

Fireworks and large kegger party went on till 1:30am.

Nice lake/pond and sandy beach. Campsites themselves have heavy ant infestation. We paid for two nights but couldn't stay. We camped at Lakeside Recreational Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

An easy 4 miles from Hwy 135 even though gravel the road was not bad. The staff were friendly and directed us to a nice spot overlooking the lake. I asked where the shower house and restrooms were and they didnt have any. I asked about dump station and they said they had a portable cart and would dump my holding tanks for me. I was suprised that they did not have a dump station. We were in off season and only people there except maintenance man. A lot of empty year round rv's were there. We enjoyed a nice walk around the lake and down the road. Very quiet evening and a red fox trotted past our camper. All in all okay for a one night stay. We camped at Lakeside Recreational Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We took a nice walk around the lake and down the road past the campground. They must not get many walkers. A farmer stopped and asked if we needed help. Very friendly. When we told him we were travelling he wished us well.

Had a reservation, but when we arrived at the self-check shack, no paperwork, no map, nothing to tell us where our site was. Someone in a golf cart came by and then drove us around to pick a site. The only one that would work for us had someone that was supposed to be checking out. We had to wait another 1/2 hour for them to leave. Then when we did get in, the site was extremely crooked, uneven and dirty. Had reservations for 4 nights, but left after one. We camped at Lakeside Recreational Resort in a Motorhome.

You will need to travel about a mile on a gravel road to get to the park. The day we arrived the road was fine. Some of the sites are near the lake with a good view. We were there in the off season and I would think this would be quite busy in the summer. Our site was not level, but had the best view of the lake. There was no host so we used a self pay box. We would stay again. The rate is PA. We camped at Lakeside Recreational Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

None of the sites we looked at had sewer connection. Most of the sites had long term residents with very old rigs. Over 4 miles from the major freeway the last mile on gravel tracks very bumpy and dusty. We were cramped into a space so tight it was unbelievable. The RV at the back could not get out even if they wanted to. The site is soil and sand with water connection below ground. Yes, there is a water slide that looks nice but it exits into a very dried up swimming pool. It is advertised as being available on a weekend, not sure which weekend they refer to. The managers are friendly, but it is our opinion that the RV Resort is very much falsely advertised and can be best described as old and very dumpy. We camped at Lakeside Recreational Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate quoted is for Coast to Coast members. Dirt roads and pads. Very dusty. Lots of mosquitoes. Basic but adequate. We camped at Lakeside Recreational Resort in a Motorhome.

Nothing as advertised. Restrooms, showers, and laundry were locked. The pool and water slide had no water. Picnic tables and pieces heaped together under one tree. Nasty standing water in the water hookup area. Their web site lists numerous amenities, but you'll find nothing but the barest of basics. We camped at Lakeside Recreational Resort in a Motorhome.

Rate is Passport America. We stayed here one night. Access road to campground is 1.5 mile dirt road. Campground is old and rundown. There are a few pull-through sites; however, neither electric or water did not work at most of them. I think we got the only site where both worked. There are a few permanent residents. Payment is self-registration. Bath building was locked. Advertised Wi-Fi was not working. Some low hanging branches to watch out for. We would definitely not stay here again. Very different campground. They advertise 40 spaces but I doubt that even 25% were operable. You travel on a county dirt road for almost 2 miles, then another 1/4 mile on the road is dirt to the sites. You pick out a site and then go to the self pay station to pay. The area that was open is all dirt and there are a few trees that offer shade. At no time did we see an owner/manager. At least 3 spots were not able to be rented. No information on the site was available, no bathrooms, no showers and no laundry that we could see. Luckily a person staying there helped us and offered a suggestion as to where we could park. I would not chose to stay here again unless it is for one overnight. We camped at Lakeside Recreational Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

First, the good: This a a rural park in pleasant surroundings with lots of trees. It is a quiet park. The reasonable $15 rate is a Passport America rate. The gravel pads are firm (no leveling pads needed) and level. Now the bad: The water hook-up did not work and I had to extend a hose to the next site,.The sites were close together, but since there we only one other rig present in out area, we had lots of room. While the trees are nice, satellite reception is impossible. The road to the campground is a dusty gravel road, and your rig and toad, will be covered with dust when you arrive. We camped at Lakeside Recreational Resort in a Motorhome.

This park gave me a nostalgic feel from the old family lakeside campgrounds. Having said that it has seen better days. The lake level is very low so none of the recreation activities were available. The pool has been drained. We were in the only open big rig site. The people were nice. Mostly a residential park. Okay for overnight using Passport America. We camped at Lakeside Recreational Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We were disappointed with this campground. Maybe this is a nice place in the summer, but here in December it might be a place to pass up. While the website states its open all year, don’t plan on the bathhouse being open or water at your site being on. We called the phone number for the campground in advance to try and learn this, but no answer. If you leave a message, don’t count on getting a return call. Sites are short and rocky. All the sites of any length are occupied by long-term residents. If you have a dog, be aware that there are plenty of sand burrs in the grassy flats below the campground. Access to the campground is very easy. The gravel road into the park is a non-issue. It seems well maintained and we’re only talking about 1.3 miles. The nightly rate is $30 which, if you do not have a discount card, would be ridiculous. We used our Passport America card. Not surprisingly you self-register. We camped at Lakeside Recreational Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed three days. Rather basic park and remotely located. Dirt road off of Old 81 was very rough, but worth the drive. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The rate reflects Campclub USA discount. Well worth the money. Only really bad part, I needed to do laundry and they only had one washer and one dryer. The WiFi worked great.
