The best RV park for miles around. Located near the new Casino just outside Dodge City. Clean campground with swimming pool and well equipped playground. Verizon Cell LTE is fast and the Park offers solid Wifi. Gravel pull through site with 50 amp service, water, sewer, grass, picnic table and a some nice trees. We camped at Gunsmoke RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We loved our stay at this park. We were there for 2 nights and used the laundry facility. Everything looked very nice, clean, attractively decorated with cute sense of humor sayings. Adorable playground, doggie area, beautiful green grass and convenient store. Owner is conscientious and makes sure you are aware of rules to help keep campground maintained well. We would definitely go back there again! We camped at Gunsmoke RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Boot Hill museum is down the street. It was very interesting and many details were involved with the displays. There are several buildings and the American Indian display was very well done with music, lighting and sound effects... one of the best I have seen. We spent several hours visiting.

Many fun and varied restaurants were also available. Great town to visit.

Location is great. Quiet. Long pull-thru. WiFi was great. The interior roads were some of the worst we've run into. HUGE rocks and uneven gravel. Picnic tables need to be replaced. Be prepared to hear the rules when you check in. Overall, not bad. We camped at Gunsmoke RV Park in a Motorhome.

Thank you for your review

The large gravel is in place to act as a good base source before final covering on top. The large rigs as yourself tear up the corners bad when it rains. Working on getting someone who can finsh the work my husband started before his death.

Also have also been working on the picnic tables as well as other up dates. Hope to have things up to snuff soon.

Again Thank you and Happy Trails

Got there at the end of the season, which may affect my evaluation - lots of open space with the vacant sites, not a lot of people creating noise or litter etc. But seemed to be a very well kept up, very clean park. And the owner seemed to be quite adamant about the rules. Probably the best option in town. Didn't have a problem with road or train noise. Sites are graveled but the gravel portion is quite narrow, you got to hit it right to have all your tires on gravel. With rain I can see why ruts are left at corners. I'd stay again. We camped at Gunsmoke RV Park in a Motorhome.

The park is close to town and casino. The Wi-Fi was about the best we have seen at any park. The road and sites are gravel. There are trees at just about every site, which blocked our satellite signal. The cable tv worked fine, but it was just a basic package, and we found that antenna tv worked best. Our site was level, and all the hookups were very accessible. There is a gated entrance, that is closed at night. There was some highway noise, with the semis using their Jake brakes. We camped at Gunsmoke RV Park in a Motorhome.

Location, Location, Location. This park is handy to all there is to see in Dodge City and surrounds. We were here at the end of the season so pool etc closed but laundry is open 24 hours, clean bathrooms and a well stocked store. For security a gate code is given on arrival as gate is closed at 8pm. Excellent wi-fi and cell coverage. We used a pullthru site with plenty of room in the back section and although rail line across the road, there was only about 1 train per night and totally bearable. This is a very well run and maintained park. Owner very accommodating. Would highly recommend and we would stay here again. We camped in a 38ft motorhome with tow. We stayed in the back section in a pull thru site which was plenty long enough for our 42 foot RV and large truck. The WIFI was slow but acceptable, my Verizon MIFI worked better. Our site had trees that blocked our satellite antenna but the park had good cable TV. The staff was very friendly and patrolled the park regularly seeking out any rule breakers. There is train noise but it's acceptable. The location of the park is perfect for exploring Dodge and nearby places although the city itself is not that big a deal. The park does have a gate closing at night so don't forget your gate code should you happen be out past 8pm. Lastly the spaces and surface roads are gravel so drive slowly thru the park and you may need blocks under your jacks/stabilizers. We camped at Gunsmoke RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Boot hill museum, Fort Dodge, and Santa Fe Trail Tracks are all nearby...

The place was okay for a place to sleep for the night except for the busy street noise and train. The owner informed us she would not be accepting dogs next season. Sites was open and dirt pad. We camped at Gunsmoke RV Park in a Motorhome.

Good campground for the area. Nice and quite, clean, orderly. and near to the town. Our site was level and since there were not many people camping here we had plenty of room. The road coming in is a little tight but not too bad. Not much for views but that could be due to Dodge City being a cattle town. The campground was very convenient to the town and things to do. We would stay again if in the area. We camped at Gunsmoke RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Boot Hill is in the area and an okay visit. The casino is around the corner from the campground but if you like bigger places you won't like this place.

Dodge City -a dusty and dry western town - LOL! However, our site had grass which was watered nightly. Spacious sites, lots of room. Shade tress all over the place. Gravel everything but that is ok by me. Host were superb. Wifi was slow but Verizon wireless worked well. I would return to this place if the opportunity arises. We camped at Gunsmoke RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Was a bit disappointed with Dodge City itself. Was hoping for a western town with a historic district and the accompanying bistros and eateries but there were none to be found. Little reference to "Gunsmoke," the television series.

This is my second stay at this campground. My travels brought me thru Dodge City again and it was a convenient place to stop over.

The CG is right off the main road about a mile from Dodge City. Yes, the train tracks are directly across the road but without the railroad Dodge City would not grown after the cattle drives ended.
The roads are gravel and need attention. Sites are fairly level but may require a little leveling. WI-fi works fine. Cell coverage is good.
Gate is locked at 8PM but a code is provided at check-in. We camped at Gunsmoke RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Everything you may need is a short drive away.

Don't leave your awning up due to the wind that can increase at any moment.

We had 50 amp, excellent WI-FI, and were parked in the N (back) part of the park; it's level with gravel roads & pads. Spots are "nose to tail" with utilities between - one facing east, the other facing west. IF they were full, the sites would be VERY tight, however, they stagger rigs every other spot, so sites are roomy with grass. Trees to the South of each site provide some shade and wind protection. Not much highway noise at the 'back', the West grew up around trains .. get used to it, 3-4 per day use horns at crossings. We didn't use any facilities and pool was dry. Gate closes at 8pm and may feel secure, but a nuisance if you 'break curfew,' --remember the 'code' given at check-in. Dodge is a 'typical' western town with tourist temptations. We'd stay here again if we travel this way. We camped at Gunsmoke RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Notice the cobblestone streets of 'old town Dodge'; enjoy a steak but not here, locals eat asian or mexican cuisine --toughest steak we've ever had, and we are from 'cow country', where its raised, not where it is packed.

The campground is starting to show age and could use a sprucing-up. If you are easily offended by lectures on curbing your dog, this is NOT the place to stay. The owner that greets you unfortunately has had some really bad experiences over the years with dogs. That comprises 5 minutes of the welcome to Gunsmoke greeting. If you like a fire at your site, the fire marshall has to approve it. We camped at Gunsmoke RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

You have access to all the downtown amenities and are located on Wyatt Earp Boulevard. You can see the casinos from the property.

A wonderful park about 3 miles due west of DCKS. We stayed in front section; Level gravel "buddy" sites, clean and well maintained park. Although the trains runs nearby, the park is otherwise extremely quiet. Pristine laundry and showers, strong Wi-Fi, but fuzzy cable. Shuttle runs to nearby Casino. Hospitable manager checked in our three rigs in a breeze. Great grassy dog walk areas. Back side of park is great for longer rigs/longer stays. Lots of wonderful shade trees all over the park. Would definitely come here again! We camped at Gunsmoke RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Don't miss the Boot Hill Museum, and other Old Town/Front Street exhibits, that are tastefully and accurately maintained by local historians and conservationists. Daily Wild West reinactment at 12 noon.

The sites were level pull-thrus. WiFi worked well. The only drawback was the trains that went by throughout the night. I would consider this park the best buy in Dodge City. We would stay here again. We camped at Gunsmoke RV Park in a Motorhome.
