The Downstream RV park was obviously not designed by anyone who has ever spent a night in an RV. Most sites are extremely unlevel and impossible to get a class A level without several blocks under tires. It is unfortunate because it is obvious they spent a lot of money building it. The only sites that were even somewhat level were all blocked with reserved barriers but nobody ever arrived to use them. The entire area is covered in concrete with no green space at the sites. It is next to a very busy highway which is loud all hours of the day and night. My wife and I each signed up for players club cards so we were given 2 free nights. This would be okay for an overnight but not a destination I would come back to. Electric and water at each site and there is a dump station available at the park. - CusnEdy
Dec 2016 - $1.00
The Downstream RV park is located right beside the Downstream Casino in Quapaw OK, just a little ways from Joplin Missouri. The RV park is basically a concrete parking lot, which is easily accessible by any size rig. The only hook-ups are electric at this time of year (water is available when the temperatures are warmer); there are no amenities such as showers or bathrooms. There is probably a dump station there, but we have never used it. The area where you park your RV is very illuminated and easy to navigate at night. Right after we arrived, the casino shuttle gentleman came around and told us the closing time of the gift shop in the casino, 7 pm, which is where you have to register to spend the night. You first must go into the parking lot (campground) , pick a lot, and then go into the front doors of the casino; go to the Q Club Desk on your right and get a Q Club card. After receiving your card, you proceed to the gift shop and tell them your lot number, and then you're all set. Each adult in your party can get a card, and each card is good for one free night of camping. Pets are welcome. We have stayed at the Downstream RV Park three different times and have always been very pleased with our camping experience there. We would highly recommend it to others. It is an easy get off-get on to Interstate 44. Give it a try; can't be beat for free camping! - Krissy r
Oct 2016 - $15.00
This park is a good park for a couple of nights. It is a all cement park divided into RV sites. It is owned by Downstream Casino Resort. - Joceil
May 2014 - $10.00
This park was very nice to stay in while we worked to help the Red Cross using our motorhome as a base during the tornado restoration work that we did. Each pedestal at each site has a 30 amp as well as a 50 amp hookup, with good electricity and has good water pressure also available. In addition, there is a dump station in the park as well. Virtually every site is fully shaded, with parking on asphalt large enough to place all wheels of a 40' motor-home off the grass. As instructed we called the Police Department for permission to stay and the Lady there suggested that we might prefer to come to the Police station to avoid any potential hassle with regards to paying. We understood that the Police are busy, however we regularly saw them patrolling the road alongside the park, but we knew that we should pay the $10 nightly fee, and so we took her suggestion. Our stay there was uneventful, peaceful, and we would stay there again. - jmorgan54
Mar 2014 - $10.00
No facilities at this park just porta potties. Took moving three times to find a plug-in that worked. Very kid friendly has a huge park with playground. You have to go by the police department to get the permit they wouldn't come out for us so best to stop on the way by. - G_Escape
Aug 2013 - $10.00
We stayed here while driving Route 66. Campers need to contact the Baxter Springs Police Department for a permit to camp. Even though we called the police department, no one ever came to collect the fee. A dump station is available. There are both back-in and pull-thru sites. Grass was long but it had been rainy for a few weeks. We were able to wash our rig and tow car at our site. We would stay here again. - thetravelkids
Oct 2016 - $39.00
A good over-night KOA near the interstate with long level gravel sites. The noise level is minimal. Utilities function well and the restrooms are clean. A duck 'fishing' pond adds some nice atmosphere. Also, this park has a ample sized fenced dog run. Pizza delivery to your site is a plus. - OldeJohn
Oct 2016 - $47.00
Gravel interior roads (dusty). Our site had gravel on parking area remainder is grass. No patio.
Dog park area. Could have been better if pet owners would all be responsible and pickup after their pets.
Staff was very nice and helpful. - Tom 573
Aug 2016 - $47.00
We stayed in the Tall Oaks rows, which had some shade. We stayed here in a 38ft coach with tow. The sites were very long and level, they have crushed stone patio area, so you are out of the mud if it rains.
Dog park, playground, pool. Fishing and duck pond. No activities.
The area has good shopping, mostly on Business 49/S.Ridgeline Rd. Not alot of local activities, so if just want to relax and camp, this could work for you. - nuttman
Apr 2015 - $20.00
This is a clean park with traffic noise and train noise.
Sites are wide, near-level grass and gravel, in various lengths. A few have shade or picnic tables. Voltage is good.
Roads are gravel in very good condition.
Verizon LTE works well.
There are strong terrestrial broadcast signals from ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, and PBS.
No rest rooms, showers, WiFi, cable, laundry, or credit cards. - wjzcbn
Aug 2010 - $18.00
Very nice and quite private campground. They have full hookups. Would recommend. - timenazi
Jan 2017 - $1.00
This is a smaller park just off RT 66. Park has super long pull thru sites I believe over 100ft and some large back in sites. The bath house and laundry area is the cleanest I have seen at an RV park. As we are here in winter we have not used pool, but area looks nice. Every area is well kept. The staff is amazingly helpful and nice. They are always there for anything you need. We are staying monthly and electric is included in the monthly price. There is decent space between sites and a couple grassy fields around the park. Very close to Joplin and Carthage. - R J C
Dec 2016 - $30.00
Previous reviews showed $20 price, which attracted us. That's actually the FMCA rate. Their standard rate is $35, but the owner discounted $5 for me being retired military. Relatively new park, very clean, owner was super helpful and talked a lot about the history of the place. It's literally on the old Route 66 highway. She's got big plans for developing the park and we'd love to stay there again after those plans are fulfilled. Compared to what we read about other parks in the area, the standard rate is overpriced for what the park is right now, unless you're using the FMCA discount. However, if making a new friend in the RV community has value to you, come on and join us there.
When we drove in, we didn't even have to drop our levelers. Very nice. Bathhouse and pool area were beautifully landscaped.
While there was no specific pet area, there are large grassy areas in which to walk your dog. Owner is considering adding a store to sell artisan & food goods, like one of our other favorite campgrounds. She also has two books for sale, written by a fellow who grew up on the property when his family raised chickens there a few decades ago.
We'd stay there again - with a current FMCA membership! - Dobiedaddy
Oct 2016 - $20.00
Nice New campground on Route 66, just out of Carthage towards Joplin. Owners very friendly and helpful with guidance on the highlights of the community. Showers and laundry room brand new, front load washers worked great, only $2. Sites are really long, lots of grass between sites, all pull throughs. New pool looked inviting. No picnic tables yet, but they have started from scratch and doing everything right. Plenty of good dog walking on surrounding country roads. - sam and hope
Oct 2016 - $15.00
This is a very nice RV Park which adjoins the Indigo Sky Casino. The sites are all "back- in." Water and electric only with a dump station on the property. We spent three nights here and enjoyed the peace and quiet in the park. The casino has all the amenities you could ask for. Wonderful food and the office staff are very helpful. - Herb Richards
Sep 2016 - $15.00
This park is often listed as Seneca. MO. It is West of there, a few hundred yards into Oklahoma and is part of the Eastern Shawnee Nation. The adjoining casino is the "Indigo Sky Casino".
This seems to be a very successful enterprise, it is jaw dropping beautiful with fountains and statuary and flower gardens. The grounds are neat and clean and always being maintained.
The hotel is very big and grand with Southwest themed decorations and much to see. There is a restaurant that features a different buffet every night. The food is good! Also a food court. There is an outdoor pool which you can use as an RV guest.
All that said the RV park has some shortcomings, but remember it is $15.00 a night. All sites are water and electric only and these utilities were conveniently placed and very good. Everything is back-in, even the dump station is back-in.
There is an office in the RV park but it is not always manned. Pick a spot and go up to the hotel to register. Very easy, very friendly.
There are 45 sites most, not all, are merely painted lines on an asphalt parking lot. All are numbered and well designed and each backs up to its utilities, but if you want grass on either side of your unit drive around and check for the few that have lawns designed around them. We did.
There are no fire rings or picnic tables at the sites, but there is a huge redwood picnic pavilion with tables and three stone fire places and grills.
The RV park is meticulously clean and groomed, a security vehicle with its green flashing light goes through about every 15mins. The flowers, other shrubbery and lawns are expertly done, but the trees are all young. Shade will be here in a few years. The bathrooms and showers were all clean and well monitored. There is no cable, but all major channels are available OTA.
Wi-Fi is at the Hotel but not in the park. This is a very good casino RV park. The restaurants were great; we never gambled. - Jack B
Mar 2016 - $15.00
Stayed one night at the campground. Very new campground that is owned by the Indigo Sky Casino. Hook ups and water looked new. Would stay here again. - depguy
Oct 2015 - $18.00
Very nice clean and friendly camp host. We had a battery problem and he jumped us plus checked on us later to make sure everything was ok. The gravel pull thru are rather level and there is a grass area. There is no cable tv but our direct tv worked very well. Wi-fi is very good. It is easily accessible to I49. We were here for 2 nights in a 44 ft motorhome. - oniedu
Jun 2015 - $20.00
No longer accepts Passport America, self register, mostly work campers, only few sites available, wi-fi works well, ok for overnight stop .
They accept Good Sam,extra charge for electricity, $0.12 per kWh. - Doum Doum
Apr 2015 - $18.00
A good deal of freeway & frontage road noise. Bathrooms & laundry were nice but the women's shower heads are way too high - I couldn't even reach it to adjust it. Even the shower curtain is so high water gets under it & there was no dry area to dress in. Host was very friendly & helpful. Sites are not so hot, a bit too rustic. - KKAmidon
Jan 2017 - $32.00
Our usual stop on the way south each winter and the way back each spring. The staff is always friendly. We did receive a welcome sheet with the rules, park layout and TV channels. Their pull thru sites are adequate for our 38' 5W. Only down side is that they do not have restrooms and we are winterized (i.e. no water due to anticipated cold weather). While the park does have several dog pickup stations, some of the customers do not use. But this is a problem in most park that allow pets. Also, we could not access their TV channels. - PatJ3
Oct 2016 - $32.00
Agree with all Sept 2016 said in prevoius review. Would add that Wifi and cable are strong. Our site was level front to back but leaned toward passenger site. - Sir_Charles395
Sep 2016 - $32.00
Some people would rate this CG pretty highly. But we feel that any successful campground MUST include a Bath/shower option. We failed to notice this campground didn't have one when we booked our stay here. Surprise! It was nice enough otherwise - not a 9+ rating that it has. But a solid 7.5. But without any bathroom I'm rating it a 6.5 with a caution.
The owners here seem to have convinced themselves it doesn't matter. But it does to a certain group of campers. Why do you think that bathrooms and cleanliness are so important in other reviews? Yeah, it matters.
They had a patio - but no table of any kind. And the other campers are very close by.
If you're getting work done at Coachlight RV - it's the perfect location. - Creativepart
Sep 2016 - $1.00
This was a complimentary very spacious pull through site. Good utilities with wifi but no cable TV. Perfect for a one night stay over. - Altoflyfisher
Aug 2016 - $1.00
There are 9 level paved pullthrough sites about 100' long with about 25' of mowed grass between each site. No reservations. Each has a 20/30/50A power and a water spigot and a trash barrel, no frills overnight stay. The voltage remained high even running the A/C. The area is clean and maintained. A dump station is nearby. The RV sites are at the backend of the parking lot which puts them out of the path of most of the traffic.
Occupy a vacant site and then walk to the far end of the casino building to the security office and register. You don't have to go through the casino to find the office. The first 3 nights are free. There is a dump station.
It is 4.5 miles from I-44 Exit 313. It is convenient for those with RVs who want to visit the casino or travelers looking for a secure overnight stop near Miami, Okla.
I would have rated this place higher except that to register they make a photocopy of your driver's license; and there is a mainline track with a crossing less than 1/4 mile across the field. The night we were here: 1 or 2 trains passed after we turned in, that I was aware of. We arrived around 7:30 on a Saturday night and found 3 available sites. The one next to us remained unoccupied overnight. We would definitely stop here again if passing this way. - Trailbuddy
Jun 2016 - $0.00
First three nights are FREE We stayed there three nights. Great people in casino. Food was very good and reasonable and available 24 hrs a day. Very level pull-through sites. Very long and spacious. Dump station was very convenient. 50 amp service and water. After third night it's $10.00 a night. We stayed three nights while riding our motorcycles on route 66. Easy on and off from highway. - New yorker
