The Downstream RV Park at the Downstream Casino is amazing, it is located an easy on and off of I-44. There are 2 parks one by the Q Shop next to the roundabout which is the furthest away or the one next to the casino in the RV parking lot. The area is a concrete parking lot which is very nice and level. The spots look out across a nice green field. Electric is available year round and water is only available during the warmer months and the water is next to the utilities and only one for each 2 sites so it is basically every other site has water. There is a van that comes around to pick you up about every 15 minutes to take you to the casino, but it is a easy short walk. There are no attendants on duty so you have to go to the casino to register your spot. Go to the Q Club Desk in the casino and get a Q Club card and the attendant will explain the benefits and then go on to the gift shop to register your RV spot. The wifi was excellent and we had about 16 TV channels and very quiet, the only thing I heard was the birds. And of course I have left the best for last, it is all free, unbelievable but true. We would definitely stay here again when passing through. - DallasRVers
Apr 2017 - $15.00
We loved this little gem. It's true some of the sites were a bit uneven but we managed to level our bus just fine. We chose to stay at the area in front of the Q store and while it was closer to the road the noise did not bother us at all and the area was pretty with trees around the parking lot. It was clean and there was a dump site available but it can get busy if everyone leaves at the same time. The shuttle picked us up quickly and the driver gave us a tour around to look at the buffalo and we got to see a few babies in the field with their mamas. One even ran around his mother kicking up his heels and having fun. The casino is pretty and a smaller one and the staff were all very nice. We stayed at this park on the return trip too and ate at the nice restaurant but might try the buffet next time. The food was delicious but it is more expensive than most. However, the savings on the nightly rate certainly makes up for it. We actually didn't pay anything either time but would gladly pay the PA rate if needed. On the return trip we pulled into the lot closer to the casino. It was quite full and this is where the truckers park. It was MUCH noisier so we headed back to the other lot across from the Q store. We chose to stay here again instead of another park we had a reservation at because it was storming and flooding where we were going and we knew this park would be safer and it was. This will be a regular stop whenever we head in this direction. - tb919
Apr 2017 - $25.00
The Downstream RV park was obviously not designed by anyone who has ever spent a night in an RV. Most sites are extremely unlevel and impossible to get a class A level without several blocks under tires. It is unfortunate because it is obvious they spent a lot of money building it. The only sites that were even somewhat level were all blocked with reserved barriers but nobody ever arrived to use them. The entire area is covered in concrete with no green space at the sites. It is next to a very busy highway which is loud all hours of the day and night. My wife and I each signed up for players club cards so we were given 2 free nights. This would be okay for an overnight but not a destination I would come back to. Electric and water at each site and there is a dump station available at the park. - CusnEdy
May 2014 - $10.00
This park was very nice to stay in while we worked to help the Red Cross using our motorhome as a base during the tornado restoration work that we did. Each pedestal at each site has a 30 amp as well as a 50 amp hookup, with good electricity and has good water pressure also available. In addition, there is a dump station in the park as well. Virtually every site is fully shaded, with parking on asphalt large enough to place all wheels of a 40' motor-home off the grass. As instructed we called the Police Department for permission to stay and the Lady there suggested that we might prefer to come to the Police station to avoid any potential hassle with regards to paying. We understood that the Police are busy, however we regularly saw them patrolling the road alongside the park, but we knew that we should pay the $10 nightly fee, and so we took her suggestion. Our stay there was uneventful, peaceful, and we would stay there again. - jmorgan54
Mar 2014 - $10.00
No facilities at this park just porta potties. Took moving three times to find a plug-in that worked. Very kid friendly has a huge park with playground. You have to go by the police department to get the permit they wouldn't come out for us so best to stop on the way by. - G_Escape
Aug 2013 - $10.00
We stayed here while driving Route 66. Campers need to contact the Baxter Springs Police Department for a permit to camp. Even though we called the police department, no one ever came to collect the fee. A dump station is available. There are both back-in and pull-thru sites. Grass was long but it had been rainy for a few weeks. We were able to wash our rig and tow car at our site. We would stay here again. - thetravelkids
May 2017 - $47.00
Stayed here for an overnight. Cable didn't work so pulled out satellite. Neighbor who pulled in said he's stayed here before and had trouble with cable in the past too. Didn't contact the office because we had no plans to move sites and satellite was easy to set up. Very nice pond/lake on site. Also has a fenced in dog play area that looked clean. - davis0056
May 2017 - $45.00
Beautiful CG. Clean. Good hosts. Gravel, level sites. Our site was a premium end site with lots of space. Some sites looked to be somewhat close. Easy to get around even with our big rig and toad. Great patio with bench swing, table and chairs. BBQ grill. - msrebel
Oct 2016 - $39.00
A good over-night KOA near the interstate with long level gravel sites. The noise level is minimal. Utilities function well and the restrooms are clean. A duck 'fishing' pond adds some nice atmosphere. Also, this park has a ample sized fenced dog run. Pizza delivery to your site is a plus. - OldeJohn
Apr 2015 - $20.00
This is a clean park with traffic noise and train noise.
Sites are wide, near-level grass and gravel, in various lengths. A few have shade or picnic tables. Voltage is good.
Roads are gravel in very good condition.
Verizon LTE works well.
There are strong terrestrial broadcast signals from ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, and PBS.
No rest rooms, showers, WiFi, cable, laundry, or credit cards. - wjzcbn
Aug 2010 - $18.00
Very nice and quite private campground. They have full hookups. Would recommend. - timenazi
May 2017 - $20.00
About 6 miles off of I44, but easy to get to and worth it. Quiet. Park is 2 years old. Owners are on sight. Nice young couple. Easy in and out with our 40'. Sites are very long. Nice space between. Hookups are in middle of site. Most are pt. All are fh. Relatively flat, Gravel roads and sites. No problem getting leveled. Showers and restrooms are tiled, and sparkling clean, smell great - 4 private restrooms and separate showers. Laundry has new machine, 2 washers/2 dryers, reasonably priced. Small, shallow pool with concrete patio. No individual picnic tables, firerings, etc. But have nice covered, concrere gazibo with tables, seating and a community firepit. This is a nice park with lots of potential. Owners are continuosly working on it. No long term residents yet, and hopefully it will stay that way. Would stay again and recommend. Used passport anerica - 2 nites 40. If it was paved concrete, would give a 10. - JudynJoe
May 2017 - $20.00
We stayed one night after Carthage had around 10" of rain. Our site was the only one that had water around the hookups ... but after 10" of rain that is pretty good. Also we got the last available site and the owners were very apologetic about the water. This is camping ... you need to expect a few hiccups now and then. The park sites are mostly pull through pretty level and large enough for the RV and tow car. We did not use the showers or laundry. It is raining as I write this, Most of Missouri is flooding. Glad to be high and relatively dry. Highly recommend the park. - Jakorv
Jan 2017 - $1.00
This is a smaller park just off RT 66. Park has super long pull thru sites I believe over 100ft and some large back in sites. The bath house and laundry area is the cleanest I have seen at an RV park. As we are here in winter we have not used pool, but area looks nice. Every area is well kept. The staff is amazingly helpful and nice. They are always there for anything you need. We are staying monthly and electric is included in the monthly price. There is decent space between sites and a couple grassy fields around the park. Very close to Joplin and Carthage. - R J C
Oct 2016 - $15.00
This is a very nice RV Park which adjoins the Indigo Sky Casino. The sites are all "back- in." Water and electric only with a dump station on the property. We spent three nights here and enjoyed the peace and quiet in the park. The casino has all the amenities you could ask for. Wonderful food and the office staff are very helpful. - Herb Richards
Sep 2016 - $15.00
This park is often listed as Seneca. MO. It is West of there, a few hundred yards into Oklahoma and is part of the Eastern Shawnee Nation. The adjoining casino is the "Indigo Sky Casino".
This seems to be a very successful enterprise, it is jaw dropping beautiful with fountains and statuary and flower gardens. The grounds are neat and clean and always being maintained.
The hotel is very big and grand with Southwest themed decorations and much to see. There is a restaurant that features a different buffet every night. The food is good! Also a food court. There is an outdoor pool which you can use as an RV guest.
All that said the RV park has some shortcomings, but remember it is $15.00 a night. All sites are water and electric only and these utilities were conveniently placed and very good. Everything is back-in, even the dump station is back-in.
There is an office in the RV park but it is not always manned. Pick a spot and go up to the hotel to register. Very easy, very friendly.
There are 45 sites most, not all, are merely painted lines on an asphalt parking lot. All are numbered and well designed and each backs up to its utilities, but if you want grass on either side of your unit drive around and check for the few that have lawns designed around them. We did.
There are no fire rings or picnic tables at the sites, but there is a huge redwood picnic pavilion with tables and three stone fire places and grills.
The RV park is meticulously clean and groomed, a security vehicle with its green flashing light goes through about every 15mins. The flowers, other shrubbery and lawns are expertly done, but the trees are all young. Shade will be here in a few years. The bathrooms and showers were all clean and well monitored. There is no cable, but all major channels are available OTA.
Wi-Fi is at the Hotel but not in the park. This is a very good casino RV park. The restaurants were great; we never gambled. - Jack B
Mar 2016 - $15.00
Stayed one night at the campground. Very new campground that is owned by the Indigo Sky Casino. Hook ups and water looked new. Would stay here again. - depguy
Oct 2015 - $18.00
Very nice clean and friendly camp host. We had a battery problem and he jumped us plus checked on us later to make sure everything was ok. The gravel pull thru are rather level and there is a grass area. There is no cable tv but our direct tv worked very well. Wi-fi is very good. It is easily accessible to I49. We were here for 2 nights in a 44 ft motorhome. - oniedu
Jun 2015 - $20.00
No longer accepts Passport America, self register, mostly work campers, only few sites available, wi-fi works well, ok for overnight stop .
They accept Good Sam,extra charge for electricity, $0.12 per kWh. - Doum Doum
Apr 2015 - $18.00
A good deal of freeway & frontage road noise. Bathrooms & laundry were nice but the women's shower heads are way too high - I couldn't even reach it to adjust it. Even the shower curtain is so high water gets under it & there was no dry area to dress in. Host was very friendly & helpful. Sites are not so hot, a bit too rustic. - KKAmidon
May 2017 - $32.00
Quaint is the word that comes to mind for this park. The staff at check in was really nice, and we were given an escort to our site. Lush, green grass everywhere, lots of critters to watch (squirrels, deer, etc) on one of the many swings set up around the park. Good water pressure, roads were wide enough, pull through site long enough for a big rig. It was right off the interstate, but in a little valley so the road noise wasn't heard. - DaBlairs
Apr 2017 - $32.00
great place for a night stop on the way back home to SD. quiet easy on/off highway. only downfall is lack of restroom/shower facilities, - xqzmepleze
Jan 2017 - $32.00
Our usual stop on the way south each winter and the way back each spring. The staff is always friendly. We did receive a welcome sheet with the rules, park layout and TV channels. Their pull thru sites are adequate for our 38' 5W. Only down side is that they do not have restrooms and we are winterized (i.e. no water due to anticipated cold weather). While the park does have several dog pickup stations, some of the customers do not use. But this is a problem in most park that allow pets. Also, we could not access their TV channels. - PatJ3
Sep 2016 - $1.00
This was a complimentary very spacious pull through site. Good utilities with wifi but no cable TV. Perfect for a one night stay over. - Altoflyfisher
Aug 2016 - $1.00
There are 9 level paved pullthrough sites about 100' long with about 25' of mowed grass between each site. No reservations. Each has a 20/30/50A power and a water spigot and a trash barrel, no frills overnight stay. The voltage remained high even running the A/C. The area is clean and maintained. A dump station is nearby. The RV sites are at the backend of the parking lot which puts them out of the path of most of the traffic.
Occupy a vacant site and then walk to the far end of the casino building to the security office and register. You don't have to go through the casino to find the office. The first 3 nights are free. There is a dump station.
It is 4.5 miles from I-44 Exit 313. It is convenient for those with RVs who want to visit the casino or travelers looking for a secure overnight stop near Miami, Okla.
I would have rated this place higher except that to register they make a photocopy of your driver's license; and there is a mainline track with a crossing less than 1/4 mile across the field. The night we were here: 1 or 2 trains passed after we turned in, that I was aware of. We arrived around 7:30 on a Saturday night and found 3 available sites. The one next to us remained unoccupied overnight. We would definitely stop here again if passing this way. - Trailbuddy
Jun 2016 - $0.00
First three nights are FREE We stayed there three nights. Great people in casino. Food was very good and reasonable and available 24 hrs a day. Very level pull-through sites. Very long and spacious. Dump station was very convenient. 50 amp service and water. After third night it's $10.00 a night. We stayed three nights while riding our motorcycles on route 66. Easy on and off from highway. - New yorker
