4 RV Parks near Garden City, Kansas
Oct 2017 - $28.00
Stayed for two nights at this basic park not far from I25. Be sure to turn in right past the dumpsters on the gravel road and not the paved road further down as there is no turn around. We stayed in the back in a pull through site that was level with full hookups. All the sites are gravel, those in the front seem to be permanent residents. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Not many amenities like pool, playground but there is a group room. There is free WiFi and a laundry room. We would stay here again. - mohocamper
Oct 2017 - $30.00
Definitely not worth the $30 they charged. No one was in the office when we pulled in and several of the sites were blocked because the power didn't work. We finally pulled into one open one but when we discovered the breaker was missing, we had to move. The turns were really tight so it was hard for us to find a spot we could get into. The entire campground was very run down and honestly the only interesting thing about it was it was right next to a wind turbine plant and we could see the various parts laying on the ground next door. That was the highlight which should tell you something. - Lee and Trace
Sep 2017 - $28.00
It is what it is. An RV park whose time has come and gone baby gone. The place is a wreck and you can tell the owners could care less. But you don't have many choices along Highway 50/400 so you suck it up and make do. A tight entrance, bumpy roads, dead grass, dilapidated picnic tables, trees that need trimming, a restroom without soap, permanent residents with unkept sites. The utilities actually worked fine even though the power pedestal was at a 45 degree angle. WiFi was spotty and SLOW. Cable requires a special box. Staff was friendly. The price was in line with what you got. It seemed like all the overnighters couldn't wait to get out in the morning. - VegasVagabonds
Sep 2017 - $30.00
I guess the best description is "a no frills RV park". It is a concrete pad off the highway that you can plug into electrical, water, and connect to sewer...for $30. Our pad was near new and near straight. It was long enough for our 37' with toad that did not require disconnect. Was told there were showers in the truck-travel plaza that we did not use. It worked well for us as all we wanted was a quiet place to rest our heads. We got what we asked for. There us no shade and what they now are weeds. Jack rabbits run crazy at night and fun to watch. We wouldn't hesitate to stop here again for a place to get off the road and ease of entrance/exit fir large rugs...without any frills! - Sweatlife
Jul 2017 - $30.00
This is basically a field with RV sites. The office is located near the trucker fuel pumps as you come into the location. The non concrete pads were really overgrown and there were weeds around the concrete ones. The best part was watching the jack rabbits in the area! It's okay for a few nights. - Tony Connie and Rusty
Jun 2017 - $35.00
This park is behind a travel plaza @ intersection of US Hwy 400 & US 83. It is a good overnight park. There are ground asphalt sites for $5 less, but they were covered in weeds. We were not bothered by road noise or trucks in the plaza. Beware there a feed lot South of 400 that when wind blew right it could be smelled. We felt safe here. - slawrence
Jun 2017 - $15.00
This is a very no frills basic stop over campground. The majority of sites are permanent residents and not all of them are very well kept. The road is rather rutted. The owners are not on site so it is self check in and leave your payment in the box provided. It was hard to determine where the sites were and to find one that didn't have things laying on the ground. It is super quiet and this was our place of one day rest in a week of overnighters so the quiet was appreciated. The site was pull through only because there was no one in the adjoining site. We were able to leave the car on the tow dolly. There is no grass, only weeds with lots of grasshoppers which was fun. There is a picnic table we could have pulled over but there was a very large animal trap on it so we didn't. We had full hook ups with 50 amp and good water pressure. Appears to be well water and the taste is bad, bring bottled water. No WiFi and Verizon signal good. We stayed two nights June 25-26, 2017 and paid $15 a night with our Passport America discount. - BarrettsHappyTrails
Jul 2016 - $15.00
A rural campground. Lots are 25 ft wide & fairly level. A combination of gravel & grass sites. Didn't use bathroom or showers. Had a Plains thunderstorm go through at 2AM. Constant lightening, rain & hail combined with 60 to 80 mph winds. Both my wife & I thought the trailer was going to roll over. We knew no tree would fall on us as there were'nt any to knock the wind down. Turned out to be minimal damage to CG & trailers. It was an acceptable 1 night stand. - be rob
Jun 2015 - $15.00
This was a midway stop for us meeting up with friends. Spending 2 nights because we hate gearing up and down for 1 day.
This is about as basic a park as you can find.
The $15 Passport America rate inclused $2 for 50 amps. There is no longer a lake because Colorado cut off the water supply.
The water, sewer and electric worked fine, but that's all the "park" offers.
We're not sure we properly parked our motorhome, but there was plenty of room for others if we screwed up.
It's a small, family owned operation with no management on site. They come in the evening to collect the money. - DJanis
Oct 2017 - $10.00
Easy to find. Quiet. Well kept. We have stopped at this park twice for single nights. If we are in the area it can be depended upon for a restful night. Will stop again in the future. - weekendrider
Sep 2016 - $10.00
We were looking for a one-night stop to break up a long drive. We're self-contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed here on a weeknight in September.
This is a great spot for a one-nighter. It's 4 miles from Lakin on a side road. For $10, this self-service park includes water, 20/30/50 electric, covered picnic table and grill. The campsites are not clearly marked. Once in the park, take a left at the bath house and look for 4 pavilions on the right. There are 8 sites, one on each side of the pavilions. The sites are in a level field against a row of trees. There's no wifi. ATT and Verizon coverage is quite good. There was one other camper. - dsvt
Sep 2016 - $10.00
This is a nice place for a stopover, three miles from US HWY 50 on a good paved road. Water & 30 amp electric. Just what we needed after a couple of long days on the road. Nice and quiet! - dewwood
