This is a small, family-run park. Does not look like much from the road but once in the park itself it is very nice. It is clean and well-maintained. Interior roads are gravel, in good condition, and easy to navigate save for one or two tight but do-able turns. There is a mixture of back-in & pull-through sites, all are gravel. All sites have a picnic table but no fire ring, as there is very little level space between you and your neighbor. Utility hook-ups are in good condition and logically placed. Office is very small and there is not much in the way of supplies or groceries; you are better served driving in to the town of Ottawa. Office staff very pleasant, and the easy check-in included a complimentary bag of freshly-popped popcorn. No pool, no game room or playground, no planned activities. Homewood RV Park does not accept any credit cards. Except for distant road noise from I-35, it is very quiet here. If you have no children with you, and just need a place to "de-compress" after many days of driving, Homewood RV Park would be a good choice. We would stay here again. We camped at Homewood RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a small park just off the highway. They only take cash or check and no discount. There are several long pull thru sites. Sites are gravel but pretty level. The park was recently purchased by a young couple. We camped at Homewood RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Very close by is a farmers market store called Pome on the Range. We purchased some vegetables from them, he was a little pricey but worth a visit. Also in town is a BBQ place called Guy & Mae's Tavern. It is a very limited menu and they only take cash but it was worth stopping buy. The ribs were excellent.

Will always remember this RV park because as we entered the park we saw a precious toddler standing on the porch actually waving us in. Tall Daddy a few feet away on the porch smiling big & talking to her to keep waving. She wasn't old enough to speak even but very much the apple of Daddy's eye. Well, we arrived right at 6 pm & they only had 2 pull-thru sites left & we took one. Not long after the other was taken. Lots of room between sites covered in thick grass. Heavy gravel in all sites & driveways. Smaller park with Big Heart. The young owners/managers were very gracious & smart. They started this so young with a great location. They have the young toddler & one on the way, the park is just right in size. All pull-thrus are full hookup and we chose the pull-thru farthest away from office because it had a big grassy area for our mini-schnauzer with a beautiful tree. It required one plank on one side to level well for overnight. WiFi was not working for us that far away from office & probably due to longer term RV'ers streaming. It was fine for us since we use cellular when that happens. Great RV Park for 1-3 nights or longer if a different site was available. We will definitely be back if we head this route again. The welcome was the best I've ever had. We camped at Homewood RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Traveling home from southern vacation and found this smaller RV Park jewel just off I35. Can't say anything negative about park from the owners to the pull-thru sites (gravel) with full hookups. Everything we needed for our overnight stay and even longer if we chose. Young owners were very pleasant and even offered to go to the nearest town to get a part for us as he was heading there for a part for an other RV'r. Bathrooms and showers were immaculate and probably the best we've been in. Park is extremely well maintained, clean, quiet just the right fit. Will stay here again when traveling thru the area. We camped at Homewood RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for a couple of months, so the rate we paid reflects the monthly rate $340. If you opt to pay the monthly rate, you also have to pay part of the electricity, they pay the first $60, and you pay the rest. For us, the first month, which was September, we paid $97, and the second month, October, we paid $113. This is a no frills park, there is no playground, pool, or recreational facilities. The owners are a nice couple, and you get a bag popcorn when you arrive. The Wi-Fi was good, and AT&T phones got a good signal. They don't have cable, but you can get all the Kansas City and some of the Wichita and Lawrence channels. Satellite worked well. The park is clean. The roads and sites are gravel. Each site has a picnic table. All the utilities were easy to locate and no problems with getting connected. This is a good place to stop and spend the night. It is a little far to drive if you are wanting to use it as a base to sight see in the KC area. It is about 40 minutes from Olathe and less then 30 minutes to Lawrence. We camped at Homewood RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a bar-b-que place in Willamsburg, Guy and Mae's Tavern, about 10 miles south of the park. They have excellent ribs, but the rest of the food was so-so. I recommend getting the ribs to go. Also, even though it is a tavern, the you can only get is 3.2 beer, because of the alcohol restrictions in the county.

Perfect overnight park. Would get a 10 if it was paved. It does have some long term workers but they park on their sites or in designated areas so you don't have to dodge their trucks on way to your site. Wish there were more parks like this. Nice owners and a very tidy well set up park. Internet was very good. We camped at Homewood RV Park in a Motorhome.

We were heading N on 35W just south of Ottawa, Kansas. Needed a campsite close to The freeway for 1 night. Saw their sign on the freeway. Took the exit indicated on the sign and turned left. After going less than 1/4 mile saw entrance. Office was closed but there was an easy self registration system in place. Pull-thrus were $29, back-ins were $28. Park is nicely laid out and landscaped with trees, grass and class 5 surfaces. We chose pull-thru site 15. Full hookups available with choice of 30 or 50 amp service at the post. Site was pretty level and the freeway noise was minimal. We would definitely stop here again. We camped at Homewood RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here while visiting our son in south KC area. It was about 40 miles up there on I-35. The owners are charming folks...greet you with a bag of fresh popcorn and guide you to your site. Bathrooms were clean. WiFi worked great. Tidy and uncluttered. Some highway noise but, after a while, it dies down. We'd stay here again. We camped at Homewood RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a great small family run park. Easy access off 35 yet not much road noise. Park-like setting, full of blooming fruit trees, perhaps 30 mostly level sites. Several pull thrus available to accommodate big rigs with tow vehicles. Neat, clean, well maintained. Plenty of antenna tv available. Rate paid was$29 plus $2 for electric heater as temps were below freezing. Would definately stay here again for an overnight. We camped at Homewood RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is an small old cemetery across the road with headstones dating back to the late 1800s, interesting to walk through there. Campground mgr thought this was the site of an old church.

Great RV park to stop along 35. We arrived at 7:00 the evening but called ahead and the owner was there to welcome us with a bag of pop corn. Easy to get in and out of and the sites were fairly level. Very quiet, clean, had good AT&T cell phone, and Verizon Hot Spot connection. This is the second time we stopped there on our way from Minneapolis to Dallas. We camped at Homewood RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very well kept campground with very easy access to I-35. There are several seasonal/permanent residents, but they are well maintained and not trashy at all. Pull through / overnight sites are quite level hard packed dirt/gravel. W/E/S are spaced rather far apart. We had no issue as we didn't hook up sewer for just an overnight, but to get all 3 might take some adjusting. We didn't make a reservation and had several sites to choose from. The office does not open until after 4pm, so if you arrive before then, you pick a spot, put cash in an envelope, fill out your own receipt, and drop the sealed envelope in the slot. Not sure if they take credit cards. There is WiFi with a strong signal here, but the router was not working, so no internet. Someone was working on it, but it wasn't functioning during our stay. We camped at Homewood RV Park in a Motorhome.
