CG is on/near a lake and has a boat ramp. Roads: Paved and easy to get around on. Sites: Gravel with old worn picnic table and fire ring. Site #23 Power at this site was 20,50 amp no 30 amp. We had to add 3" of lift to the front tires to level the coach. Most of the electric sites are 30 amp and they have a limited number of 50 amps. They have sites with WES but I don't know if those sites have 50 amp. Bathroom and Showers were clean. Showers are push button with a 7 sec. cycle time and it takes a long time to get hot water. When it does show up it has good pressure and is warm to hottish. No wifi but Verizon phone and Mifi worked well. One note on power we had the on board Surge Guard trip twice when we were running both AC units and then tried to run the micro wave. Outside of that the park has some long time residents who look to use it as fish camp. Not too messy. All in all a good stay at a great price. Note on prices they don't have discounts and Tent with power, RV site with power and water, and RV site with WES are all priced differently but very reasonably. We'd stay here again if we're in the area. We camped at Linn County Park Lake LaCygne in a Motorhome.

This is an old county park that they are gradually restoring. Buildings were relatively new but the picnic tables need replaced. Grassy common areas were all well kept. New playground near bath house with other playgrounds in other loops. No reservations and we had our choice of sites on a holiday weekend. Fishing access within walking distance of our site. We camped at Linn County Park Lake LaCygne in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We rode down to Fort Scott and toured the National Historic Site. Restored and very well done. Easy to access from Hwy 69. Great little Mexican restaurant within walking distance of the parking lot.

Restrooms could use some upgrades but passable. You pick your own sites so if you stay on one that is bad it's your fault. Lady at Marina was nice and friendly. Overall great campground some permanent residents almost all in one area so no big deal to me. I would stay here again. We camped at Linn County Park Lake LaCygne in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Kind of remote so bring what you need. Marina has a small store for basics. This also includes fishing supplies. Your park permit allows you to fish.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 2 nights. Lots of different choices for sites. Our cost was for 30 amp & water site. Site 19 is very level. Only problem electric & water on wrong side so we nosed into the site for ease of hookup. We are looking mostly at woods. Attendant at marina very helpful during signup. Best to pick a site and then go to marina office to pay. Some permanents here as CG open all year and no limit on stay at most sites. Very quiet here in October. We camped at Linn County Park Lake LaCygne in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Quoted rate is for FHU. However, there are only a few FHU sites. Most are either electric or electric/water. Nothing fancy here. Lots of permanent residents. But the park is clean and well kept. Close to Route 69 but back a long drive into the park. Abundant deer walking around the campground. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Linn County Park Lake LaCygne in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: April, 2010 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Lake La Cygne is the 2600 acre cooling pond for KCPL's La Cygne power station. About 1 mile off Hwy 69 an hour south of Kansas City. The park occupies the western side of the lake and its warmer waters are a year round fishing mecca. Most of the 23 full hookups sites are always occupied. We paid $12 for an e/w site which is a bargain so close to Kansas City. Roads are paved and fair, sites are gravel some being level, and the one bath house has seen better days. Constant noise from power plant and lots of powerboat noise in the early am. Most of campground sits between 2 hills so cellphone coverage is spotty. On air TV reception is poor. Wi-Fi is run by the phone company and although expensive at $10/day, appears good. Some sites drier than others in periods of rain. First come first serve, select site and pay at the marina when open. Overall not bad especially in these frugal times. We camped at Linn County Park Lake LaCygne in a Travel Trailer.
