Park is a large, level grassy field on the west side of Highway 25, about 3 miles south of Lakin. There are 8 sites, nicely spaced from each other, and the campground is quite a ways from the highway so it was quiet. We were the only ones camping, which made it great for letting our dog run off-leash (the signs say all dogs on leash, but we figured "what the heck" since we were the only ones there) but we did always pick up after him. Each site has water and electric. Bathroom is dated but adequate. There was a shower in the bathroom, but it was inoperable. This part of Kansas can be pretty windy, and we had a 20 mph wind pretty much all the time and some somewhat scary gusts of about 40 mph during the night which really rocked our RV. Still, for a nice quiet, level campground it was a real bargain at only $10 a night, honor system. Groceries and fuel available in Lakin. I'd easily stay there again. We camped at Beymer Water Rec. Park in a Motorhome.

A nice little CG with 30 amp and water sites. As reviewed, sites are level grass back in sites. There are covered patios with two picnic tables each. The electric and water is centered behind the patio and you back in on one side of the other. We did have someone come in and park sideways in front of a patio for a couple of nights. They were triple towing and could not back up without unhooking. Overall a nice little quiet place at a very good price. We camped at Beymer Water Rec. Park in a Motorhome.

Rate is now $10. Put your money in an envelope and put the stub in your window. This park is located 4 miles south of Lakin. For Kansas, this is a beautiful park for the price. Sites are about 40 x 60 with nice prairie grass in late April. Playground with swing, Merry-go-round and bobbing animals. Sites are side by side, so if you back in half of the rigs will have the power and water on the opposite side. There is a row of trees in the back of the sites to give some evening shade. The park appears to be the remains of a sand quarry. The lake is probably the water table seeping into the bottom. Fishing is the only allowable recreation allowable. No swimming, wading, skating, etc. Fishing license is required. We camped at Beymer Water Rec. Park in a Motorhome.

This is a nice quiet park at a great rate ($5/day) paid on the honor system. The RV sites were level and easy to get into, and had covered picnic benches next to them. There's a series of ponds that kids were fishing in. The bathroom was clean but run down. I didn't notice a usable shower. If there was one, it would have been "rustic". There appears to be volunteers taking care of the grounds, but obviously at $5/night you should expect a KOA-type campground. I would stay here again, since it's not too far from the highway and is very easy to check in and out on the honor system. We camped at Beymer Water Rec. Park in a Travel Trailer.
