Beautiful CG on the lake. Selected an electric only lakeside site in the first-come area. Stopped for one night but decided to stay 2. Good Verizon signal for phone and internet. We camped at Cottonwood Point COE in a Travel Trailer.

What a pleasant find! We stayed here twice during the week in August and practically had the place to ourselves. Based on the reservation markers, it does look like it fills up on weekends, though. There are several different sections. We were backed right up to the lake in sites 89 and 90. The sites in this loop are large and spacious with trees. This chunk has water and 50 amps. Another section is water and 30 amp, and another is 50 amps with full hookups. We have a good Verizon signal here. We camped at Cottonwood Point COE in a Travel Trailer.

On Marion Reservoir. Boat ramp in park. Only negative for us was the grass needed to be cut. Contractor fell behind on schedule. We camped at Cottonwood Point COE in a Motorhome.

With COE on the sign you know it will be good. We stayed 4 nights while visiting relatives and going to Concert in the Flint Hills. The place is huge with lots of space between pads and lots of shade trees. Our pad was beside the lake. The only complaint is that a blue-green algae plume had developed in the lake that sickened people and killed dogs. There was a green stain along the shore where the stuff washed up. I was told this was the normal now for lake Marion in the summer. What a pity. We camped at Cottonwood Point COE in a Travel Trailer.

A large COE campground on a large lake/reservoir, with nicely spaced gravel sites and paved roads. Sites could use more gravel, as after rains was soggy dirt/gravel. Well designed dump. Bathroom in area was small, no shower. Lots of trees, and many sites with great lake view. Great for biking. Needs a better sign off US 56 highway to the campground which road to crosses the dam forming the lake. Easy to miss if you don't know, we missed it, don't think it said campground, but something like offices of Corps of Engineers. A nice great value campground for us. We camped at Cottonwood Point COE in a Motorhome.

Very large campground. Large, well spaced sites. Most sites will accommodate any length RV. New area has full hookups. We were in 101, pull thru site right on the lake, full hookups. Lake view from every site. Covered picnic tables. Campground has a lot of shade. The new area has less trees, but with time it will be very shady too. Shower house in our loop is brand new. Tile floors, private stalls, looks nice. The entire campground has been very well maintained. We are impressed. Very friendly staff. Reason for 9 instead of 10 is because after 1" of rain some of the sites are a bit muddy and could use more gravel. But really for camping it's just about perfect. Fishing looks to be good here. Beaches available as well as courtesy fishing piers. We camped at Cottonwood Point COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Great facilities, very friendly helpful staff. Large sites, some pull throughs. New camping loops have full hook ups. All sites offer view of lake, which is a nice large lake. Power boating allowed, lots of fishing. Verizon signal quite good. We were able to access many TV stations with our antenna. Small beach areas. There is a nice one mile hiking trail through a wooded area. We really enjoyed this campground. Super quiet. We camped at Cottonwood Point COE in a Fifth Wheel.

The rate reflects a Golden Age Passport 50% discount. This is an Army Corps of Engineers lake with two different campgrounds. About half the sites have 50 amp service. There are no sewer hook ups but dump stations are available. There are boat ramps and docks. Many of the sites have grills and covered picnic tables and fire rings with shade trees. We had some difficulty maneuvering to get satellite signal from our dome but Verizon cell card and phones worked well. Most of the sites have lake access and are somewhat level. It was very quiet during the week but fills up on weekends. Nicely spaced sites with a playground, amphitheater, picnic shelter, swimming area and group camping area. There is also a nature trail. Some branches need a trim. We will definitely stay again if in the area. We camped at Cottonwood Point COE in a Motorhome.
