Another excellent Corps park with a layout of two loops around a lake - interesting that it was signed with warnings about water contact and how to deal with fish due to algae. One thought for summer camping would be to find the shady spots since the rv sites are asphalt and would be hot after a long sunny day. However, being a "road", the sites were fairly level. Power was good and water was available at the sites. Some minor road noise, as we were at the end of the southern loop near the road. Nice walk around the lake for the dog with a good path. We camped at Outlet (Melvern) COE in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Beautiful site along the lake. Small gravel walk way along the lake, nice, except for all the goose poo. Nicely maintained and friendly host. Very spacious site. We had a pull through, but many of the pull throughs we observed seemed quite short and more curved than necessary. Even so, it was easy in and out and the site was very level on black top. We loved our site and would definitely stay again and preferably longer if traveling through the area. Only complaint is all the biting gnats, but not a lot can be done about that. Just the type of weather and conditions that give you those little bugs. Sunset was beautiful across the lake. It was a nice peaceful stop. No traffic noise and overall a very quiet campground. We camped at Outlet (Melvern) COE in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice Corps Of Engineers campground. Shaded sites, well, taken care of, modern rest rooms and showers and washers and dryers. Water and electric on part of them and full hookup on the other part. Good space between sites that are mowed. Very quiet and peaceful there. They have several host volunteers and a frequent law enforcement ranger presence. So, if you are an all nighter, loud drunk, etc. or want to let your dog roam off leash because it is special and the rules don't apply to it, this is not the place for you. Very enjoyable three day stay. Lots of room during the week, fills up quite a bit on the weekends. Probably the nicest COE campground we have been in. No cost to make an online reservation!!!! We camped at Outlet (Melvern) COE in a Travel Trailer.

Enjoyed our stay as always at this beautiful park. We have camped in B loop several times and still haven't found a spot we can level our 45' motorhome. I suspect most with smaller rigs have less of an issue. Other than living with a off level coach I have nothing but praise for this park. We camped at Outlet (Melvern) COE in a Motorhome.

One of our favorite places to stay. The park is very well kept, has nice walking/biking trails and fun playgrounds when the grandkids come to visit. Only negative is trees that need to be cut back at some of the sites and dead limbs that need to be removed. We camped at Outlet (Melvern) COE in a Motorhome.

This was a very nice park. The site we had did not have sewer hook up, however some of the loops does have sewer hook up. Lots were spacious and offered some shade. Gravel surface featuring a picnic table. We would come here again if in the region. We camped at Outlet (Melvern) COE in a Fifth Wheel.

This was our first stay in B loop as we typically try for C loop. I give very high marks for this camp ground. Great online reservation system, great online check in system, reasonable price, and absolutely beautiful! Also feels very secure with regular sightings of park police cruising the camp grounds. This particular stay we were in B 107 and it was large enough for a 44' motorhome and car. Pretty nice for FHU and about $20 a night! I have noticed some of the sites are more level than others. Ours seem to pitch to the front so level would have left one of the steer wheels off the ground. I settled for slightly less than level. We camped at Outlet (Melvern) COE in a Motorhome.

The park is a lovely one with nice trees but yet open enough to get DirecTV. The park roads in our part of the huge campground were very narrow and could be rather confusing. Our site had full hookups, something COE parks rarely have. All of the utilities performed well. This part of the campground could get crowded and close with sites positioned in an odd sort of way. We would stay here again in the future. We camped at Outlet (Melvern) COE in a Motorhome.

By far the best campground I've ever stayed in. The shower/restroom house is exceptional! Amazing lots and tons of shade. Well kept lawns and has several play areas for children to play in. This will definitely be my go to site from now on! We camped at Outlet (Melvern) COE in a Tent Trailer.

We stayed for a 3 night weekend. Maintenance visited restroom facilities at least 2 times a day. Very clean well ventilated restrooms. Plenty of space for the kids to ride bikes, 5th wheels to pull through, grassland for your pets to be on leads. Nice shady lots, a couple different playgrounds, docks to fish off of, paved nature paths to take a quick bike ride. Sewer at each site (huge plus). We camped at Outlet (Melvern) COE in a Tent Trailer.

Love this campground. Well maintained. Our site was across the road from the lake in the full hookup loop. We backed up to the wooded area where trail went into the woods. We still had good views of the lake. Lake side is hard to get satellite, but across the road had a clear view for our satellite. There are several other walking trails as well.

If you want a site for more than a couple of days, you need to make reservations. We camped at Outlet (Melvern) COE in a Motorhome.

We spent 2 weeks here and loved every moment. The sites are spacious with trees and views of the fishing pond. Many opportunities for hikes and fishing. Only drawback is the distance to a sizeable grocery store (approx 20 miles). Bathrooms are clean and there is a laundry on site. Would definitely stay here again. Price reflects senior pass. What a great campground! Sites ranged from nicely spaced to really large. Hiking trails were great, some paved, some not. Most sites had shade during some part of the day. Quiet, only the occasional distant train. Loop C appeared to be the nicest but reservations for that section weren't available on short notice. The only reason we rated an 8 instead of a 9 was because the sites in Loop B were set up so the RVs face each other. We camped at Outlet (Melvern) COE in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great campground, close to I-35 but with no road noise. We had a lake site with water and electric for $9.00 (Golden Eagle discount) but it is well worth the $18 normal price. W/E/S price was $22 but half that for Golden Eagle discount. Camp hosts were friendly and the campground itself was clean, quiet, and beautiful. We will definitely stay here again. If you go up the road a bit you can camp on the shore of main Lake Melvern. We drove up and checked it out. Non-hook up sites were only $12 there and were on a huge lake. Awesome park. We camped at Outlet (Melvern) COE in a Travel Trailer.
