Big rig friendly with level sites. Laundry and showers were good. Wi-fi required signing on several times a day but worked okay. No problem using our satellite. No dog park but grass field to walk dog. Site was wide and parked the truck beside camper. We camped at Walnut Grove RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
Walmart and shopping within 10 minutes. Downtown Kansas City Missouri was convenient and less than 10 miles. Easy to get to NASCAR speedway, NFL stadium, and NBA stadium.

Very quiet! Nice dog run. Easy access in suburban setting. Just the basic amenities but those are fine. Many spaces occupied by long term campers so the number of spaces available is limited so you might want to reserve in advance. The owners and staff are so friendly and helpful. We will stay here in our future visits to the Kansas City area. We camped at Walnut Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.

Urban area campground with lots of trees. Really nice treed pet area in the back of the park. Very few pull-throughs, but the back-in space was plenty wide enough to park our dolly and toad beside our coach. We were able to disconnect and reconnect right in front of our space without problems. Very nice owner and on-site staff. Store on-site and very easy access to and from the interstate. Very quiet, friendly folks, many of whom are permanent residents there. Park is clean! We camped at Walnut Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.
Located very convenient to interstate and major roads for exploring the Kansas City area.

It's been just over two years since we've stayed here, but the improvements since then are impressive. The previous messy permanents are gone. Remaining long term residents have cleaned up most of their unsightly belongings. Work to clean up fencing, stray tree branches, etc., is obvious. Most sites now have picnic tables! Rules are much more specific and logical, and seemingly well enforced. Mostly level gravel campsites, convenient and reliable utilities. We stay here because a family member lives close by, but now we are happier to be here because of the changes. We'll be back. We camped at Walnut Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.

Needed a place to stay for one night while visiting with family and this was very close. The owner was super nice from getting us to the campground and allowing us to have visitors. The campground is in a residential area and not like your typical campgrounds, but for us it was perfect for what we needed. Sites were close, but not enough to bother us, it was not a vacation destination. The only reason I gave a "satisfactory" rating on cleanliness, was we found dog droppings on our site, but that is not the campgrounds fault. That is irresponsible people not cleaning up after their pets. If we were passing through again and wanting to visit with family, we would stay here for the convenience and how nice the owner was. We camped at Walnut Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.

We were in a "premium" pull thru, which was the only available spot when I called 2 weeks. We were in town for a wedding and this is the only close rv park. Really not a "rv park" as we know them but very nice people. Lots of long term folks here. There are many trains rumbling through during the night. Easy to get to from I-35. We camped at Walnut Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.

The park is basically a parking lot. It is surrounded by trees, but units are jammed in very close together and many of them seemed permanent. It is about a mile off I-35. It wasn't pretty, but it served its purpose. All sites are back-in. We have a 24' class C and I wouldn't have wanted to drive anything bigger into this place. We camped at Walnut Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.

The park is basic, with very few amenities. The park is very small, and the camping sites are close together. Although, we did navigate our site OK with a 34 foot fifth wheel. You have to walk a ways to find any grass for your pets. The office lady who checked us in and led us to our site was very friendly and helpful. Overall, we would probably not stay at this park again, although it was convenient to the Kansas City area attractions. We camped at Walnut Grove RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
We visited the National World War I Museum, the Arabia Steamboat Museum and the City Market. Our personal favorite was the Steamboat Museum, and we would highly recommend it to others. It was well worth the admission price.

We stayed here overnight on our way across country. All the reviews gave this place high marks. I am not impressed. The pull through sites are very tight and we almost couldn't extend our slides. There is no place to sit outside. We had one of the pull through sites. It is in a residential area. The owner asked that we call them so that they could meet us at the street and guide us to our site. We were so close to the other rig next to us that we could look in their window. I do not think I will stay here again. The only advantage is that it is in town and close to Kansas City. We camped at Walnut Grove RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is about our 4th time to stay here. I gave it an 8 because of the great location. Very close in, essentially in the middle of the Shawnee Mission area. A lot more convenient than some of the outlying parks which are 10 miles out of town. If you get a back-in site they are plenty wide for slides, awning, and parking of a vehicle. If you get one of the pull-through overnight sites they are barely wide enough to get your RV in. Essentially not wide enough to even set lawn chairs out. Thus, ask for one of the back-in sites. Sites are gravel and quite level. We just backed in and unhooked. WiFi worked well. We were even able to stream some of our Dish DVR recordings from our receiver at home with very few freezing or lockups. While we did not use the laundry or restrooms, I checked them out and they were quite adequate. No problems with electricity water, or sewer. We were only there for a couple of days and did not set the satellite up but there were plenty of local stations and since it was right in KC, the reception was great. The park is just a mile off of I-35 in the middle of a residential area. Thus, access to other parts of the KC area is quite easy but there is no noise given the residential surroundings. As previously, we will stay here again when in the KC area. We camped at Walnut Grove RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Park is small, but adequate and close to our choice of eatery. The employee who served us was very accommodating, polite and cheerful. There are both shaded and and open sites. Although the park is older, we would gladly stay again as the facilities and park are just fine for a night or two. We camped at Walnut Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.
Woodyard bbq, just a few miles down Merriam Ln has the best smoked/bbq meat we've EVER eaten. The St. Louis ribs, burnt end sandwich and smoked turkey can't be beat!

The lady at check in was very friendly and informative. The WiFi is free and worked well. Sites are a bit close together. The location is nice for exploring the Kansas City area. We camped at Walnut Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.
We went to see the Library Parking Garage on 10th Street in Kansas City during our stay. The outside of the parking garage is painted to look like oversized literary classics - very nice.
We ate at Danny Edwards Boulevard BBQ and had a very good experience there.

Prices going up, but improvements are slow to get accomplished. Every site was occupied, so revenue is probably pretty good, but about all we saw improved from a year ago was the fence in the east parking lot was freshly painted, although a quite hideous color. The young lady employee who checked us in was very pleasant and helpful. Sites are small, gravel, many not level. Site numbers are easy to see. Loop road is paved, but has several poor sections because of some sort of utility work. Electrical is about 110 volts and reliable. Registration building has been repainted, but also a weird color. Water is from city of Merriam. Sewer connections are maintained properly. Laundry facility is adequate. Restrooms and showers are reasonably clean, but need work. Trash dumpster is conveniently located. No picnic tables or fire rings (although they sell fire wood!). Trees are big, but not nearly as many as there were because tornados and storms have knocked some down. Pricey for what you get, but not much competition. Please read other reviews for more information if I haven't addressed all you need. We camped at Walnut Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.

The people that run the park were very nice. The park is in a residential area; tight, extremely close together, long term residents, no grass or "yard" area. It was just OK. We camped at Walnut Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.

The new management group seems to be "getting it." New little store is a nice feature, big annoying speed bumps have been removed, discount for military/veteran or Good Sam is very welcomed. Previous dog issue seems to have been resolved (likely need to judge that better when it is warmer). Staff is more accommodating and friendlier than before. Good to see them walking about. Would like to see permanent sites better managed, too much stuff outside, looks trailer-trashy. We camped at Walnut Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.
