Price indicated is for camping only at full hook-up site. There is an extra $5 per day per vehicle use fee. This includes any towed vehicle even if you do not drive it in the park so to camp one night cost a total of $35 because I was towing a car. Office told me it was a state ordinance. If you are coming from Interstate 70 there are no signs indicating you are headed toward the park until you get to Park Road so have faith and trust your GPS to get you there. Like most state parks the spaces are roomy although some are literally side by side sharing a common hook-up area. Several sites have the hook-ups on the wrong side. Reservations on-line must be made at least 2 days in advance. Sites with 50 AMP service (Eagle Ridge) are all in the equestrian area (stable, etc. and associated flies and smells) and are all back-in. Perhaps the sites with utilities on the wrong side could be considered pull-in sites although they are shown as back-in on reservation site. 30 amp area has both back-in and pull through sites. Nice view of the lake. Eagle Ridge is a nice set up for equestrian activities. A trail ride group was scheduled to come in shortly after we left. We camped at Milford State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The private RV park where we had made reservations for the weekend screwed it up so we were without a place to camp at Woodland Hills Campground. Luckily we found a pull through site at the nearby state park. Concrete pad was ample for our 5th wheel and truck. There was a large tree providing shade on the right side but the picnic table and fire ring were on the left side with no shade. Sites were not next to each other but in front/behind so no one was infringing on each other's site. We camped at Milford State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here rather than a parking lot on our trip across Kansas going to Colorado. What a lovely surprise. Largest lake in Kansas. We didn't do anything in the park but you could spend a weekend here. The parking sites were wonderful. Ours was a pull through with an obstructed view of the lake. Concrete level pad with full hookups. Well worth the drive off the interstate. We camped at Milford State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The site was near the water and had amazing views, but the night-time bugs were horrible. I would not open the door after dark. Several pull through sites are one-way on a single lane road section. The last person in has to wait for the previous one to leave, or break the rules and drive through the grass. See the camp host before picking your site, they live a long ways away from the camp sites. We camped at Milford State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Review applies only to a five night stay in the Eagle Ridge section (equestrian loop); other loops vary greatly in character and services. Easy access to and in the park with our oversized 40'+ BigRig RV. Price paid includes a daily vehicle fee that wasn't mentioned until check-in. Poorly designed loops; park has plenty of space but many sites are very close to one another and many with oddly placed utility services - choose a suitable site carefully ahead of time if making reservations. Would have rated park lower but it was very quiet at night. We would stay again but certainly wouldn't go out of our way to do so. We camped at Milford State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Picked this park as it was relatively close to Fort Riley and Abilene attractions. If staying at other parks in this area check proximity of train tracks. This park, unlike others in the area, had no train traffic at night.

Nice park. Holiday weekend so was crowded but not a problem for us. Hard to judge restroom cleanliness due to steady use. Fee structure is a bit complex. There's a $5 / day vehicle fee, a $3 transaction fee (one time), then the camping fee depends on your site. Expect around $20. Lots of grass and shady sites. We camped at Milford State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Being out of state we had to buy a vehicle permit ($25) that increased our out of pocket cost. Campsite was on water front with stunning sunset views. Pull through and pretty level. Had one tree at the end of the site that provided late afternoon shade for about 1/2 of our truck. Showers did not have warm or hot water. We camped at Milford State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Milford State Park is very nice – not too far from civilization. Sites are long and level with choice of 30 or 50 amp ($2.50 extra). Lots of space between sites and nice views of the lake. Don’t plan to use the dump station here unless you have a strong stomach. Rather than the standard hole with s steel cap, there is a 2 foot square steel door in the ground which opens directly onto a pit toilet complete with an abundance of floating poo and toilet paper. I declined to use it. We camped at Milford State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This campground is in a lovely wooded setting in the Flint Hills of Kansas. We stayed in Hickory Hollow which has full hook-ups. Sites are first come first serve. Heavily shaded sites with lake view and short trail down to the lake which is easily accessible. There are several camping areas in this state park, many with lakeside camping. A few full hookup sites are reserveable, although they are in an area with little shade and no lake view. The park has beaches, a marina, laundry, firewood, and friendly camp hosts. There are well-spaced single sites as well as "double" sites for two camping units. We will come again. We camped at Milford State Park in a Travel Trailer.
