Didn't expect much in the middle of Kansas but had a very nice time in the hot tub and pool. Owners were very sweet and helpful. Even better the on site restaurant is AMAZING. KOBE BEEF burgers and escargot! Camp sites nothing special but loved the extras. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Travel Trailer.

This park is located where Interstate 70 and Highway 83 meet. It has easy access in and out. It is not exactly an RV resort, but it is adequate for an overnight stay. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. The site is plenty big although the rig next door is close. There is excellent cable and the restrooms are super. There is an on site restaurant that is a must do. The food is excellent and the owner is the cook. We will definitely return. There isn't a lot out in this part of the country so finding this oasis in very nice. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Crabcakes at Cap'n Jack's Pub are excellent = no really! Also, the elk burger.

As the previous reviewer stated, the park is a very convenient way station through the area. The office staff is very friendly and helpful, there is a nice DVD library available, the grounds clean, and the restaurant has a great menu. We will stay here again when traveling through this region. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Motorhome.

This park is spacious, with wide roads and adequate space between sites. Our site was pretty level, and utilities worked well during our stay, except for a very brief period during a repair when electric and water were off - just a very few minutes in both cases. There are some trees in the park, but most sites have no shade. The site we were in had only a small amount of grass between sites, but we did not see any grass burrs in our area as mentioned in some other reviews. The park itself is quiet, but there is a large truck stop across the highway, so trucks can be heard at all hours - not a problem for us but others might find it annoying. Wifi worked well most of the time - somewhat slow in the evening when the park had many sites filled. We would stay here again. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Pub on site has good food - seafood you would not expect on the Kansas plains.

Nice park close to I-70. Easy check in and owners on site to make you feel at home. Large pull thru sites, interior roads wide and gravel. The site we were in had a large area between RV's but no shade. Didn't use the restroom or shower but looked in and they were very clean. Salt water swimming pool and hot tub that were in good shape. Strong water pressure and electric worked with no problems. Free put-put golf and horseshoe pit by office.
Talked to owners while in the hot tube and they were very pleasant. There is a restaurant in the park that servers hamburgers and seafood, Steakhouse in front of park in walking distance. Would stay here again. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Motorhome.

I am confounded how this park gets favorable reviews. The good is that the power and water worked and the sites were long. However, the utilities are all at the back. Even with our rig all the way to the rear edge we had a bit of difficulty hooking up. The photos on the site are completely misleading. The miniature golf is completely rundown; not weeded; not taken care of; clubs were literally strewn over their back patio. There are seemingly abandoned buildings next door. The grounds are run down. The owner was 'nice' in forced way, but rude when I needed help as if I were an inconvenience. I wish I had driven a bit further and stayed at a KOA. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy on & off I-70. This campground calls itself a resort on the brochure, and could have been a "9" some years ago, but is now rundown and lacks pride. Full hookups worked properly, showers were okay, two restaurants were within walking distance. There were few trees and very gusty winds. This is a convenient overnight stop with full hookups. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Motorhome.

Was never told about smoking policy. Was told they couldn't get insurance if they didn't make it a no smoking campground. Then read when I get here they were tired of picking up butts. Wife was told husband was allergic to smoke. With that said very run down. Pot holes all over the place. Wifi doesn't work. Cable fuzzy. Very little grass. Picnic table falling apart. Had to sign waiver for daughter to swim. Put put course was over grown. Would not stay again and wish I would have turned around and drove a little further. Would start putting $$$$ into it or shut it down. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

Wife and I stopped here for one night on our return to east Texas. The park is very clean with good level sites, all gravel. Great cable reception. Large clean showers and restrooms, hot tub, pool, mini golf. Great view for someone who's lived where you can only see sky by looking up all his life. You can see forever in all directions here. A clear starry night would be beautiful. I'll definitely stop here again if I'm ever close. Wouldn't want to live in this area but an overnight stay is fine. We arrived at 7:00 PM and it didn't get dark until 9:30. We arrived during a rare rain storm for Kansas and afterwards watched a fantastic lightning show in the distance for 360 degrees. Our night temperature was 65 with a strong breeze. I'm sure by Kansas standards it was a gentle one. The staff was very friendly and courteous and went out of the way to make sure we were satisfied. There's an onsite pub that serves a cold brew or good hot sandwiches or a meal while listening to some good tunes from the 70's and 80's, not a honky tonk. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Out front of this CG is the Colonial Steakhouse, not part of this but open for breakfast through dinner.

This used to be one of our favorite places to stay along I-70 whenever we were headed East from Denver. It was sold about three years ago and the new owners seem to be a bit grouchy at times, friendly at other times. But it's convenient for us to overnight there. There is a good steakhouse next door with a great buffet. The wifi works well and everything seemed to work as it should. All of the spaces are gravel and mostly level. Most are pull-through and can handle some very large RV's.

What a wonderful oasis in Kansas! The owners are so personable! They have made this a one stop location. They have a pool, hot tub, pizza delivery and pub. I would recommend them to any and all. Site level, 70 ft long very wide and pull-thru. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The only thing near them that is not theirs is a steak house in front of them. We ate at the pub and had a wonderful time. Have a drink at the pub, and eat dinner at the pub. If you like antique shopping there is a store next door.

If you have dogs, do yourselves and your dogs a huge favor and keep on driving. We removed over 40 stickers from our dogs, plus the ones we removed from our pants legs, shoes and now picking them out of our rugs/carpet. The grounds are a mess, grass needs to be cut, weeds are everywhere, the dog run is full of weeds and stickers, the roads are full of potholes. Basically this park is a mess. On a funny note, there are signs that say this is a nonsmoking park because they got tired of picking up cigarette butts. We wish that was the only problem here! There are trucks that park out front and the smell of manure from the stock trucks parked there is overwhelming. On an up side, the hot tub worked, seemed clean and was hot. We would not stay here again, not even for a quick overnight stop. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Motorhome.

We will probably stop here again for an overnight stay. But not in late Summer and Fall. The grass had just been mowed and the owners were very nice. But the stickers were just horrible. I had them in my socks and our poor dog was in pain. The pull thrus were a good length with plenty of room for our slide-outs. The roads were gravel and bumpy. But this park is right off the highway and easy to get to. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

Our experience with this campground was just fine for what we intended it for. Apparently a much better experience than the reviewer who gave it a "2" recently. Although this is not what I would call a "deluxe" or "resort" type campground, it does not in my opinion deserve such a low rating. Everything worked as advertised, and the staff was quite friendly, humorous and helpful. The restrooms and laundry areas are HUGE, and were clean. Our 30amp electric was good. The water was good. The wifi was generally good, but in just about every campground we visit the wifi takes "spells", as it did here. We had been warned about the weeds with burrs on them, but in walking our dogs I never noticed any. There are plenty of places to walk your dog, and they also have a nice, large, fenced in dog "play area". Don't forget, this IS Kansas, so large shade trees are not going to be there. All in all, we liked this place for our overnight stay. Oh, and by the way, the "Hunt Brother's" pizza is very good! We camped at High Plains Camping in a Fifth Wheel.
