We will probably stop here again for an overnight stay. But not in late Summer and Fall. The grass had just been mowed and the owners were very nice. But the stickers were just horrible. I had them in my socks and our poor dog was in pain. The pull thrus were a good length with plenty of room for our slide-outs. The roads were gravel and bumpy. But this park is right off the highway and easy to get to. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

If you have dogs, do yourselves and your dogs a huge favor and keep on driving. We removed over 40 stickers from our dogs, plus the ones we removed from our pants legs, shoes and now picking them out of our rugs/carpet. The grounds are a mess, grass needs to be cut, weeds are everywhere, the dog run is full of weeds and stickers, the roads are full of potholes. Basically this park is a mess. On a funny note, there are signs that say this is a nonsmoking park because they got tired of picking up cigarette butts. We wish that was the only problem here! There are trucks that park out front and the smell of manure from the stock trucks parked there is overwhelming. On an up side, the hot tub worked, seemed clean and was hot. We would not stay here again, not even for a quick overnight stop. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Motorhome.

This is a good overnight stop. The owner was very nice and agreeable. We did not see a problem with the rules, it is their property and their right to make the rules. Our site was large enough for our 43 foot motorhome without having to unhook the tow vehicle and plenty of space between sites. Easy on and off of I-70 with a restaurant next door with a good breakfast. Will stay here again when in the area. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Motorhome.

Our experience with this campground was just fine for what we intended it for. Apparently a much better experience than the reviewer who gave it a "2" recently. Although this is not what I would call a "deluxe" or "resort" type campground, it does not in my opinion deserve such a low rating. Everything worked as advertised, and the staff was quite friendly, humorous and helpful. The restrooms and laundry areas are HUGE, and were clean. Our 30amp electric was good. The water was good. The wifi was generally good, but in just about every campground we visit the wifi takes "spells", as it did here. We had been warned about the weeds with burrs on them, but in walking our dogs I never noticed any. There are plenty of places to walk your dog, and they also have a nice, large, fenced in dog "play area". Don't forget, this IS Kansas, so large shade trees are not going to be there. All in all, we liked this place for our overnight stay. Oh, and by the way, the "Hunt Brother's" pizza is very good! We camped at High Plains Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed her for a quick overnight and found it to be better than we expected. The person who reviewed this park in July ahead of us must have been at a different park. The sites were well-kept for the most part. Bathrooms were huge and clean with more sinks and showers than we've ever seen. There is a nice hot tub, pool, and mini golf for a park that is not a destination park. The restaurant on-site has a nice menu with reasonable prices and a happy hour. The price we paid is with a Good Sam discount. The girl in the office was extremely helpful and pleasant. We would stay here again. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Travel Trailer.

High Plains campground has easy access from the interstate and has long, level pull-thrus. Mostly gravel sites. I don't consider it a long-term place to stay, but one or two nights at most. A restaurant is just off-site and within easy walking distance. Our meals there were very tasty, but certainly not a fancy place. WiFi was very uncertain and connections unpredictable. Office staff stated that WiFi should be available at all sites. It was, but barely working. WiFi was the biggest drawback to this facility as well as rather low voltage at our site. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Motorhome.

Came in on a Sunday night without a reservation. Office was already closed, but had self-registration. Park was quiet, even though hwy. is very close by. Bathrooms/showers were clean, laundry room was clean. Grass needs to be better maintained. my multiple dogs had so many stickers in them, it took me over an hour to remove them. Also, rather bizarre that you cannot smoke in the park, but can smoke in your RV (?) Overall, except for the grass, a pleasant enough stay. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Motorhome.

We stayed here in July of 2013 on our way to Sturgis, SD and was very impressed with the place and how the owners were making upgrades to the place. So when we decided to become full timers in 2014, we decided to return to this campground on our way to Colorado. The owners are very nice and very helpful with providing us with information about places to see that were close by. The campground is very well maintained and the employees are very nice. Enjoyed the nice pool and the on-site restaurant, Cap’n Jack’s Pub, has the best food and friendly atmosphere. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

The campground is conveniently located right off of I-70 but that is about the only thing positive I have to say about this campground. It is very run down, with tall weeds, overgrown areas and grass that hadn't been mowed in a few weeks. A strip of grass had been mowed leading to the mini golf course, but the tall grass lay in piles (ready for bailing). Weeds and stickers are everywhere. We stayed here on two occasions (one night only) and found this to be true both times. Potholes everywhere, even in the approach to the office. Bathrooms had dead bugs and smelled of urine in both the men's and women's bathroom. No pride of ownership here. Don't be fooled by their pictures or their claims. We will not be back. On a positive note the Hunts Bros. pizza was good and the pool was clean. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a campground that I would consider as strictly for an overnight stop. Easy access from the highway and very easy pull through spots. This campground is on the plains in Kansas so it is very dusty and windy. There are a lot of native weeds and stickers. We constantly had to pull the stickers out of our dogs paws and fur. This park is a non-smoking park so if you smoke you have to do it inside your RV. This didn't bother us as we don't smoke. There is a small free mini-golf course and an above ground pool. The pizza and pub on site had very good pizza. They will even deliver pizza to your RV. We stayed here one night as we were driving through Kansas. We would probably look for another campground near the highway the next time we drive through Kansas. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Motorhome.

A good park easily accessible to interstate. Very pleasant staff. WiFi weak, cable OK but much static. Restaurant on site after 4 pm and pizza delivered to sites. We would stay here again. This is our third visit with improvements from previous times. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Motorhome.

There are fairly new owners here that are trying to make improvements to the campground. Spaces are large but there are no shade trees which would be an issue in the summer. There really isn't much around this area to make one spend more than a night that I could see but we were just passing thru. Restaurant on the premises but we were there Easter so it was closed but there was another one not affiliated with the campground that was open. Pretty cool huge statue of Wild Bill Cody and a buffalo closer to the town of Oakley. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Motorhome.

Easy access from highway. Some road noise. No trees, all gravel and dirt interior roads. Good for overnight, but cost was OK with Vet discount. I have never seen a smoke free park before. On the plus side Jacks pub on site was great and what a value!! Poor Cable and no Wi-Fi. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Motorhome.

I saw good reviews, but I was not impressed. There were signs posted everywhere on things you could and could not do. It was excessive. The pool was dirty and there was mention of a waiver, but didn't see one anywhere. The hot tubs were locked up and when we did get it were not very clean. Restaurant next door was great and good prices. Was nice we didn't have to unhook our towed vehicle. Dog parks are always nice, but the weeds to get to this one were not. Also, they of course want you to pick up after your pet, but no trash can to put it in?? If you decide to stay here, please take note of all the signs it was kinda sad. Less is more and having a nice clean park without all the signs and postings would go further. Would not likely stay here again. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Motorhome.

Easy access from highway. Some road noise. No trees, all gravel and dirt interior roads. Dusty and dreary. Good for overnight, but cost of $36 seemed high. I do not smoke, but owner reiterated 7 times that this was a smoke free campground. On the plus side the Colonial Steakhouse, right at entrance, had superb fried chicken and buffet with good food and a good breakfast. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Motorhome.
