Very nicely kept up city park. Sites are gravel and fairly level with w/e, ours had 50 amp service, and there is a dump station available. Utilities all worked well. We only stayed a night, but satellite would've worked here. We picked up a free WIFI (maybe the city WIFI) and it worked great. If you are coming from the west, US24 was closed and we had to make a 28 mile detour. Wish they would've told us that when we reserved a spot and we could've picked a different route. Paying is on the honor system. There was only one other camper there. Would definitely stay here if in the area again. There was nothing to do in town....even the Pizza Hut is only open Thurs-Sun! - jacknpeg

We stayed one night, after phoning ahead. Hays, KS has no place to stay, but Stockton was a beautiful park. The campground is self-register, but the city staff on the phone were very helpful. There was good signage to find the park. - TexPaul

We were heading to Colorado and needed an overnight. We stumbled into this little city park my wife found on line and it was perfect. I gave it 10 because it was perfect for us at the time. Clean, level, 50 amp, well lighted, and easy access. There were no other campers so it was very easy to find a large pull thru with 50 amp. There are to dump stations and about 7 to 9 spots to park - not all 50amp most are 30. - DanMur729

Campground at local park. It rained nearly the whole time we were there so did not see much of the area. They had local WiFi services which was nice. Sie was nearly level so no blocks. The dump station was very convenient next to the restroom facility. Lot's of local traffic on the roads on either side, several seemed to be coming to look at the water flow since KS was getting unexpected amounts of rain. Nice park for a one night stay - tfemaker

Traveling in a 38 foot coach we stayed 3 nights in a site for big rigs. This is a cute little campground and pretty quiet for the most part and is perfect stop for one or two nights. About 8-12 full hookups with 30 amp service. All sites are level and your view is along a river with many large old trees. $15 for off season and $20 for in season. As an aside unlike so many commercial campgrounds the free internet access has great bandwidth. It is first come basis (no reservations). The reason Ellis Lakeside Campground is not receiving five stars is because tree limbs hit our roof. That is bad maintenance! We did hear a couple trains during the nights so bring ear plugs if noises keep you awake. Also most important: Our GPS told us to turn right on Monroe which was not correct. Don't do that! At Monroe you will see the RV Park on the left, and the park on the right. TURN LEFT! - JDC10

Stayed at this campground last of May in site No. 8 which is one site away from the wash room and the wifi was good. Stayed again in July in site No. 13 which is the last site to the east with power and water and was not able to connect to the free wifi. Voltage was low at 108 volts but was hot and everyone running air conditioners. Water pressure was good. Since this is a public park there is a lot of people driving through just to look and people parked and fishing but the local police drive through often so the park never feels unsafe. Park fills up by dark. Large shade trees. A great value with power, water and available dump station. Some sites will require some leveling blocks. - campingdog
