We called 2 weeks in advance, identified as PASSPORT AMERICA. Made reservations for 3 nites. Arrived & office was closed. Called and was instructed to park any lot. Set up, later checked in. The attendant says "I was full all summer, I don't need Passport America"..If we weren't all set up we would have left. We paid FULL price for three nites. Should have been $18/nite. We paid $37.50/nite. Sites described as long. They were but two rigs were parked back to back in each site. Site was not level, we needed a board to level. There were a few picnic tables, no fire rings. Run down mini-golf. Nice museum but was closed the whole time we were there. Feral cats everywhere and loose dogs. Will never return. We camped at Triple J RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Great place to overnite if you are traveling Interstate 70!! Although we had a difficult time finding the exact road to turn on that gives access to the park, maybe in part because we were tired and not paying good attention to directions. At any rate we figured it out and got on the right driveway. Nice clean well ran park with good level hookups and cable. We had a pull thru and found exiting the park before daylight was a breeze, very close to the Interstate but was not bothered by noise. We would stay here again!! Staff very nice and led us into our site. When you come off the Interstate pay close attention to the driveway or road that leads to the park. You can miss the correct turn and have to go on up the road a bit to turn around. Otherwise no problem getting in with a big rig. We camped at Triple J RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We've used this place twice as a overnight to and from the Denver area. Full hook-ups, decent wi-fi, reasonable road noise. Price is a little high but almost reasonable. Sites are gravel/grass and somewhat level. Management seems friendly enough and always guides you to your site. Water pressure was pretty low, so plan longer showers for rinsing. I'd use this again as an over night stopover. We camped at Triple J RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites very close. Very little shade. Lots of long-termers. Road to CG had sharp turns. Office a mess. Had to call and wait for someone to check us in. Needs a lot of TLC! Positives are that the wifi and cable both worked! We camped at Triple J RV Park in a Motorhome.

Over night stay and right off I70. Good pull thru with easy access into and out of site. Good water, electric and sewer hook ups. Excellent shot for satellite tv. Site was gravel with a picnic table. Walking distance to a local restaurant with a buffet priced reasonably. Fuel station just outside of park that made for easy refueling on departue and easy access to I70. We would stay here again. Long, gravel pull through with adequate maneuvering space off road. Picnic table on large concrete pad and included new-looking firepit but noticed that other sites did not have one of those. Owner got us signed quickly and led us onto pad using golf cart and stayed long enough to be sure we got pulled in successfully. Site was relatively level. Bathrooms were clean and included large shower area in each. Playground for kids was sub-par if that's something your group needs. Our $37.50 one night charge was for 3 adults. Unlike reviewer from April, we did not see dog piles or any trash to speak of. Would stay here again. We camped at Triple J RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

If you're traveling across Kansas on I-70 and the end of your day finds you somewhere near Hays, we would suggest this place as the perfect overnight stop. We did not use their facilities, so cannot comment on cleanliness, but our site was long, gravel and level. Nice fenced-in dog run for our fido. The proprietor was very pleasant to deal with. We called a few days before our planned arrival, and she called right back. No deposit was required to hold the spot. When we arrived we were informed by sign on office door to call her. She came around in her golf cart in just a few minutes, checked us in and led us to our site. She is, I guess, a pretty busy lady!! This place was just the ticket for us after a long, windy day of driving. Full hookups, but you may need an extension for your sewer hose, or need to pull ahead a few feet in the morning of departure to access the sewer inlet. We camped at Triple J RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed one night. Nice folks run the place. Level, long, gravel pad... able to stay hooked up. Sewer, water and 50 amp electricity. No credit cards... check or cash only. Seemed to have quite a few long-termers. Easy on/off I-70. Road noise was not bothersome. Good place for a one night stay. Will stay there again. We camped at Triple J RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Although this park is close to I-70, it is pretty quiet. We liked the fact that we were able to obtain a spot by calling after 8 p.m.. We only used electricity since the water spigot is below ground. It's not a fancy place, but fine for an overnight stay. We camped at Triple J RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Stayed 2 nights. If I didn't have to make some repairs to my RV, I would have eaten the second night and left after the first night. Pay wi-fi is junk. Called the owner/manager and she sent me the phone number for tech support. In other words, I had to call to get the park's wi-fi fixed. So, I called and left a message. Never got the call returned. Perfect. Dog crap everywhere. Park residents and management don't seem to care about keeping the place clean. Dog crap inside the dog run and outside the dog run. Crap at sites. Crap in the road. Big piles and small piles. Ridiculous. No poop bags in the off leash dog run though the dispenser is there. Trash can at the dog run looked like it hadn't been emptied in quite a while. Water hookup is below ground in a small vertical tube. You won't be able to get your pressure regulator connected to a hose - not enough space. No worries; pressure isn't that high. Sewer connection did not have threads so I used a few rocks to keep the drain in line with the hole. Despite being so close to I-70, it is not that noisy. Would not stay here again. The permanent residents are sure money and the overnighters aren't here long enough to care. Nope, not again. We camped at Triple J RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Had pizza at the nearby Fossil Restaurant. The pizza was poor and not hot and the calzone was small/flimsy. Sometimes national chain restaurants are better alternatives.

Overall Rating:

This is probably the nicest RV park within a 100 mile radius. We have camped here twice and will definitely return! There is easy access off I-70, but far enough away that the reduced truck traffic at night is hardly noticeable. Water, sewer, and electric were well placed for hooking up! The site we stayed in was a double pull-thru with one RV pointed in one direction offset to a different space in the other direction. This is definitely a place to stay in north central Kansas! The only real complaint, thus the rating, that we had was - There seems to be a lack of enforcement of picking up "dog poo". The dog park we only entered once. All around the sites were full of dog poo. Admittedly, it was winter and north central Kansas can be harsh. We always pick up after our dogs, even at truck stops! But many travelers and probably long-termers do not seem to bother. But we will return and have high compliments for this park. I entered the park by skipping the turn in front of the Cenex Gas Station (as Garmin GPS guided me) and took the second left (off I-70) in front of Subway. There is a wide U-turn for the frontage road (Fossil Road) and the right turn to the RV park is much easier. We camped at Triple J RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Oilfield Museum was closed (across the road), but from looking at the outside displays, it would be definitely worth a visit! It appears that on old Wichita cable tool rig is parked in one corner! Russell is the hometown of Bob Dole. Drive Main Street - south of downtown are some magnificent old houses!

Overall Rating:

Campground is divided into two sections - south and north. These comments apply to the north section where we stayed. Access into the campground requires 3 quick turns coming in from the highway - it's going to look like you are turning into a gas station, but the 2nd turn is just before entering it to get onto the access road paralleling the highway. Once in the campground the interior roads are somewhat narrow gravel roads. Sites (in the north section) are very long (100' or so), level alternating pullthrus. This section looks to be pretty much an open field with a few young trees. Grass and a picnic table on a concrete slab between the sites on the patio side with reasonable spacing on both utility and patio sides. Pretty consistent highway noise during the day dying off somewhat in the evening, but unless your windows are open it is fairly low level background noise. It's about the best you can hope for being adjacent to the interstate. Power a touch low (114v under load), did not use other utilities. Campground wifi adequate signal with good speed; Verizon 3 bars with good speed; TMobile 3 bars with good speed. No problem with satellite access in north section of campground, may be site dependent in south section. No recycling on site and no obvious road bike riding. We'd stay here again for an overnight. We camped at Triple J RV Park in a Motorhome.

Friendly park just off highway, but quiet. Large, level pull through sites in the "new section" where we stayed. Unfortunately, road/site design necessitates driving across lawns if driving anything larger than a small class C rig. My 65' combined will not do a 90 degree turn without some corner cutting. Fortunately, the manager was cool with everything. We camped at Triple J RV Park in a Motorhome.
