When I read KOA, I tend to think "cute," and this one certainly hit that note. The grounds were immaculate, with autumn decorations out and a bit of Halloween fun. Very neat, very clean and had the to-the-site escort that KOA often offers.. Our site was level and a good fit for our rig. The park was well-lit, which cuts both ways as I like it dark when I sleep. There was some highway noise, but again, that noise meant an easy on-and-0ff for travelers like us who were just passing through. I would definitely stay here again. Loved the emphasis on picking up after pets. We have a dog and believe reminders are always good. We camped at Salina KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Kansas towns are full of slightly oddball museums and there's on right across the road. We didn't tour it, but if you like old time farm equipment, it's worth a look. And check out the museum in Hayes to the west.

Big rig friendly with level sites. Very easy on/off to I-70. Shower, laundry, and wifi were good. Large and small dog park were good with dog bags. Campground was good for riding bicycles. Cable was good and no trouble with our satellite. We camped at Salina KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Walmart, restaurants, and shopping were nine miles. Salina was nine miles but worth a visit. Lindsborg was 25 miles but worth the visit.

We appreciated this KOA. Even with lots of highway noise, the shade, fishing pond, pool, playground & game room with pool table overcame this inconvenience. It was clean and the staff was courteous and efficient with reservations as well as check-in. Salina has plenty of restaurants and stores. Very reasonable pricing for a KOA. We camped at Salina KOA in a Motorhome.

Passing through on the way to Vegas for an overnight. Lovely little KOA, lots of trees and large dog walk area. Pizza and wings on site :) Escorted to the site and the nice guy guided us in around some lower hanging tree limbs. Careful of those! Also was a tight pull out in our 40ft fifth wheel and he helped guide us out as well. Sites on the row we were in were fairly narrow and close together but still had picnic table. Good AT&T phone service. Will actually be staying here again in a couple of weeks on the way back home! We camped at Salina KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

As others have said, small, older, established park. Staff was very friendly on check-in, they were having a network issue but didn't get flustered and apologized a lot. Three dog parks on site, one of which was very large. Grass mowed, trash kept picked up, park very clean, wifi worked well. Would definitely stay there again. We camped at Salina KOA in a Motorhome.

This campground was well maintained and the staff was extremely nice. We got here on Sunday night of Labor Day weekend for a one night stay as we were traveling to Wyoming. A nice gentleman showed us to our site on a golf cart. I feel like this is really more of a 3 1/2 star park but we like bit more room than most people so thays a preference. There isn't a lot of space between the RV sites and there is lot of clutter throughout the park. Lots of signs and statues and not a lot of free space on our side of the park, especially for walking dogs. We stayed in space 69. Road before entrance is gravel. Lots of gas stations close by. Shopping a nicer restaurants are about 10 mintues away. Phone service good for Verizon and AT&T. We camped at Salina KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This is the first time we have stayed at this park and we will definitely be back. Staff was very friendly and helpful and we were escorted to our site. Site was one of the most level we have ever experienced (the escort said that they had re-done them all this year). There are two dog runs but they are rather small. All utilities, including free wi-fi, worked very well. The only real drawback is part of the road leading to the campground was dirt and the dust was really thick when trucks passed. There were enough trees that the dust didn't seem to get into the grounds but it was very heavy out on the road. We camped at Salina KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Driveways and sites are gravel, but firm and level, with a small grassy area and picnic table. Most of the campground was shaded with large trees. Distance between sites for large vehicles was not luxurious but adequate. It is right off Rt 70 so there is traffic nearby, although we weren't bothered by noise. Overall it was a good stay and pleasant surroundings. We camped at Salina KOA in a Motorhome.

We were assigned spot 20. Nice large space. Lots of road noise which was to be expected. At 2amish my wife woke me up thinking we had a sewage problem. Really strong oder in the trailer. As it turns out the wind shifted during the night and there is a cesspool/sewer treatment pond on the other side of the fence behind spots 20 21 and 22. Pretty nasty. We full-time around U.S. in 40 MH w/tow to sightsee, so we look for campgrounds with 50 amp FHU and a few pull-thru satellite-friendly sites. We usually stay only one or two nights. This campground was level with airy trees for shade. It was clean and easy to navigate with extras for activities. Campsite was level -met all of our criteria. Well planned campground. Would stay here again. We camped at Salina KOA in a Motorhome.

This older and well established KOA has been kept up excellently and is very convenient to I-70. It is big rig friendly but can be "tight" in a few places. It has excellent shade with many cottonwood trees, and the trees are kept trim to where they will not hit your rig. Roads are sand/gravel and pads are gravel. My site was perfectly level front to back and side to side. Wifi actually worked at an RV park for once! (Slow but it worked.) Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They greeted us, led us to our site, and helped guide us in. Found it to be fairly quite for being right next to the interstate. Could here some road noise outside but none inside my RV. The cons include the sites are very close to each other with your neighbors sewer hose next to your picnic table; a few turns are tight for big rigs; and there is a big gap at the bottom of the fence at the dog park that will let little dogs run right out. All and all a very nice KOA. I will definitely stay here again if I am in the area. We camped at Salina KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Very convenient to highway. Many mature trees, shady. Has a nice camp store, pedal bikes available, large pool and "warm tub," bounce pad and playground. Our site was gravel and relatively level. The desk staff were not typical for the KOAs we have been to - not very pleasant and made limited eye contact. The pool was clear but full of bugs, both on the surface and on the bottom. The gem mining sluice water was stagnant ant did not appear to have been used in some time. We were there on a Wednesday and it may be that weekend are where they do most of the activities and maintenance. The WiFi was good and the park easy to maneuver through. We would certainly stay again with the hope that we just caught them on a bad day. We camped at Salina KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Go to eat at BBQ Hickory Hut in Salina. It is only two miles away and worth a 10 mile drive. The best BBQ we have had in the last two years. Beans were awesome. I am pretty picky about my potato salad and that was really good too. It is not fancy. Very clean, low maintenance. You gotta go.

Nice park. Well-maintained, shady with lots of mature trees. Take it slow as there are some tight places with those trees and the wall around the park. We had some difficulty manuvering trees to get in and out of our site, but were successful with the extremely helpful staff. Very convenient to I-70. Several places to fuel up at the exit. Would stay there again. We camped at Salina KOA in a Motorhome.
