The shower area had hair in the drain. There were hair ties, shampoo bottles, Qtips in the changing area. The fire rings had not been cleaned. Ours was filled with cigarettes and Qtips. We camped at Minooka Park COE in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice COE park. We were here over a weekend and it was really crowded. The sites in Loop A and B were very large, C-E loops were a lot closer together. They are water/electric sites and the utilities worked fine. No shade. Sites were pretty level. There really isn't any sites that have good access to the water. Also, the rules are definitely not enforced. They say 2 vehicles per site and 1 RV and 1 tent or 2 tents, but everyone around us had many more than that. At one time there were 6 vehicles, 2 boats, an RV and tent at one site. Made for a very noisy bunch. Every site around us had many more than the rules allow. That would probably only happen in the A-B loop as the sites are really long. Don't know that we would stay here again not due to the campsites, but not having much lake access sites. We camped at Minooka Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Lucas, KS is about 30 minutes away and there are many interesting things to see in this town including The Garden of Eden, Worlds Largest Public Toilet, and many grass-root artist collections. Very interesting! Also Brandt's Meat Shop makes their own sausage and bologna. Very tasty!

I love this campground! The campground is in several loops on a high, hilly ridge covered with grass. I stayed in Site E16, which is at the far end of the campground and practically hanging over the lake, so the view is fantastic. Sites are very large and have nice gravel pads, while roads are paved. There are not very many trees here because this is plains, but that just makes it easier to see long views. I walked around to check for good sites for my next visit, and I will have to say that the only negative is the un-levelness of some of the sites. Some of the sites are seriously unlevel front to back and others are unlevel side to side, all to the point where levelers might not be enough. My site was not too bad, so one set of 2x10s with another one on top was adequate under one wheel. I got good satellite TV and 3-4 bars of Verizon 4G LTE data service on my mobile hotspot. We camped at Minooka Park COE in a Motorhome.

Beautiful views of the lake. Very quiet. Close to I-70. Easy to find and navigate.
Single shower house and restroom is huge in my experience. Only issue there was the water temp was not adjustable and very warm, almost too warm.
Second time stay and would stay again. We camped at Minooka Park COE in a Motorhome.

We stayed here a bit over 3 years ago and the park is the same park it was back then. The water and electric were adequate. You will want to use your pressure regulator to tone down the water pressure. There is a nice dump station at the park entrance. The thing that has changed is that the park employees here now are among the worst we have ever encountered in a COE park. They are just plain lazy but that could be because they may have poor management. They did the unthinkable and neglected to put the reserved signs out for sites reserved the day before so we had to cut our stay short. The checkin kiosk is rarely manned during the week so you cannot get needed information. Also, one of my pet peeves is recycling bins; there are none here. Come on Corps of Engineers get with the program! We might stay here again and hope there has been personnel turnover. We camped at Minooka Park COE in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground overlooking the lake. Not very crowded at all during the week. Big pull-through site with water and 30 amp. Only drawback would be 7 miles off the interstate on a bumpy two-lane road. We would camp here again if traveling through the area. We camped at Minooka Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful park. Rate reflects Golden Age discount with only electric 30 amp hookup, no water or sewer. We stayed one night. The restrooms/showers were clean but very old. We would stay here again. We camped at Minooka Park COE in a Motorhome.

$5 per night was the Golden Age off-season rate for a 30 amp electric only site. The campground and two others are managed by the Army Corps of Engineers and have sites overlooking the very scenic Wilson Lake and the surrounding rolling hills. Spacing between sites is generous and most sites are level. There are trees in the campground affording shade to some sites while others are out in the open. There are a couple of dump stations and water was available throughout the campground. The campground is located north of Wilson, which is a sparsely populated area with very limited dining and shopping opportunities. We received five bars of 3G on our AT&T phone. We used our Millenicom jetpack as a Wi-Fi hotspot and it worked very well. We received nine OTA TV stations including CBS, ABC, FOX, and PBS. We camped at Minooka Park COE in a Motorhome.

Rate is Senior Rate and worth every penny. What a pretty place. My site overlooked the beautiful lake with great sunset pictures!! Not many campers on this weekday. Paved site, no trees. Vault latrine, more permanent shower. Sites spread out. I felt like I was camping out in the open under the stars. I would stay here again. We camped at Minooka Park COE in a Motorhome.

Rate is based on national senior pass. Beautiful lake, most campsites have good view of the lake. Camp hosts and rangers were visible and friendly. They have a nice visitor's center a short drive across the lake, explaining the dam construction and local wildlife. Restrooms were clean. Power was steady and water pressure was good. No WiFi provided but our Verizon card was 4G and worked fine. No sewer sites here and both dumps are a considerable distance from the camping loops. Sites are well spaced, plenty of room and most appear fairly level. Fire pits are not cleaned between campers. Most have metal picnic table, some have concrete tables. A couple of boat launches on the park and a playground. As per most parks, locals are most of the visitors on the weekends; rules don’t appear to be enforced when it comes to parking and number of vehicles at sites or leash rules. However, quiet hours do appear to be observed. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Minooka Park COE in a Motorhome.

We camped on Sunday for 1 night, and the park was almost empty. We had a 80' pull through lakefront site. The rate reflects a Golden Age Passport rate. This is a beautiful campground and I'd definitely recommend it. We camped at Minooka Park COE in a Travel Trailer.

What a beautiful lake and a great RV park. This is the clearest lake water we have seen since we were in Glacier National Park last year. The price reflects our senior pass price. The water and electric utilities were spot on. The dump station is one of the best we have seen in a while. Make sure you go to Lucus for some interesting art! We will be back again in the future. We camped at Minooka Park COE in a Motorhome.

A very nice COE park. New bathrooms seemed to ave been added recently. Sites are gravel and level. Many of them are water front. Water has good pressure. Verizon wireless and internet are good here. During winter months of Oct 1 to Mar 1 the fee is only $4.00 with a Senior pass. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Minooka Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.
