Love this park! We have a lab/greyhound mix who loved the fenced dog run. It is huge and surrounded by a 6' fence. We don't come across many RV parks where she can run full speed, and where we don't have to worry about her jumping the fence. The park is clean, friendly, and well kept. One of our favorites for sure! We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you're hungry, Lonnie's BBQ is within walking distance of the park. Awesome food, and all but their bread and potatoes are gluten-free!

Excellent park for an overnight or a month or so. Excellent management. Extraordinary clean. Spacious level, concrete sites with lots of space between sites. Best dog park we have encountered. Great pool, and playground. Gated and secured at night. Should be rated a 10++. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to restaurants, shopping, and all Topeka has to offer.

On a scale of 1-10, this park is an 11. Level, concrete pads, spaciously spaced with a nice strip of grass. Fabulous WIFI. Wonderful hosts with lots of tips. Super roads. We planned to stay 2 nights and ended up staying 4 nights. Camped here in 38' motorhome (toad fits front & back of pull-through). We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Fabulous BBQ restaurant (Lonnie's) is right on their driveway. Sparkling clean and open from 11-1, Mon. thru Fri. and 5:30-7:30 Friday night. Closed weekends. It's the best we've ever had, and we have eaten BBQ in all the top spots. Only a few minutes from the Capitol and State Museum, both of which are very good.

We stayed at this park four different times this year for a total of 74 days due to family commitments. Love this park! It's one of the cleanest, nicest parks we've stayed at. The sites are wide, clean and the hookups the nicest we've encountered. We winterized our RV before heading home this time so utilized the bath/showers. They are extremely clean and well maintained. Staff is absolutely the best! We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Dillon's grocery is an easy 15 minute drive. Best BBQ in Topeka is right next door. Easy access to highway.

We stayed here a week. The park is close to I-70 and Lake Shawnee, with easy access to both. The roads and sites are concrete, with grassy areas between the sites. The majority of the sites are pull-thrus, with a small number of back in sites. The park is fenced, and has an electric gate, and security patrolling park at night. The hook-ups are easy to get to and all together. The camp hosts are friendly and upon checking in, someone will guide you to your site. The wi-fi, just like in most parks, is spotty. The satellite and TV antenna reception is good, and they also have cable hook-ups. The only complaint we have is there is construction going on right by the park, and they start work at 7:00 am every weekday. Also, there is road noise from I-70 in mornings, especially from semis using their jake brakes. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Tour the capitol building, including the dome tour. The Combat Museum and the Kansas National Guard Museum are close together, by the airport.

Beautifully laid out park with large concrete pads and patios. Bathrooms and Laundry excellent as was the wi-fi. Fully secure with access code after 6pm. Great management and we were taken to our site. There is no shade at this park but as we were at the end of the season it did not cause a problem to us. There are roadworks going on nearby but we were parked on Site 30 and neither the roadworks nor the Interstate bothered us. We were permitted to wash the bugs off the vehicle. A great park and we will return when in the area. Highly recommend. We camped in 38ft motorhome with tow. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit the State Capitol and take a tour (free) - well worth it and also a climb up the 297 steps to the top of the dome to take in the views. Also visit the 1st Presbyterian Church opposite the Capitol to see the stunning Tiffany windows.

This is everything an RV park should be - except for the people in the office. I sent a reservation request online. When we arrived the man at the reservation desk informed me that he didn't have our reservation, I had not made a reservation, and he didn't have a place for us. Somehow, he found a place for us and all was good until I had occasion to return to the office the next morning to ask a question. The woman at the desk (who sounded very nice) was helping another camper so I waited. A man, who worked at the RV park, entered the office, looked around, made eye contact w/ me and did not ask if he could help - in fact, he sat down in the office area.
Done w/ the bad because, in spite of the men, we would definitely stay here again.
There is a huge dog walk - big enough that even a big dog can get a good run going.
The park is gated - and locked at 8 pm. Made me feel safe.
Good cable and WiFi.
Pretty level site. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We fully agree with the previous October, 2015, reviews. The park is fully concrete paved, all roads and sites. Sites are spacious, with fully manicured grass lawns between each site and around the Campground perimeter. If you are bothered by highway noise, we suggest that you request a site on the south end of the park. The dog park is the nicest dog park we've found in any campground. The dog park fencing is 6 feet high and is brought down to grade with concrete under the fence providing a very secure area for our pets. This is a great park and our first choice in the Topeka area. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A visit to the State Capital is worthwhile. Be aware that tours, including a walk up to the dome, is only available Monday through Friday. Just outside the campground entrance is a great BBQ/baby back rib restaurant, but they are only open during the weekday lunch period and Friday evening. We had the baby back ribs and they were some of the best ribs we've ever had.

We stayed here after finding campsite water is turned off for the season at Lake Shawnee where we intended to go. This park is surrounded by lovely trees and a creek area. Half mile from lake. Very new park and really excellent place to stay. Large well spaced sites with well manicured grounds. Paved roads and campsites. Pool looks very nice though off season so closed now. Great playground. Enormous fenced dog area. Very secure. Staff very friendly and helpful. If you leave RV windows open you'll hear highway traffic noise some. Which means it's convenient to I-70. Very secluded though. We were very impressed and highly recommend this RV park. Perfect for short or long stays in Topeka. New and meticulously maintained. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

State capitol city. Historical sites. Gorgeous lake Shawnee with walking trails and arboretum. And golf, beach with water park.

This was a new park for us and we really like it. Will stop again. All concrete-- pad and roads. Wifi is good. Spaces are fairly wide and long enough to keep the tow hooked up. Friendly and helpful staff. This is a great place to stop when passing through or in the area. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Deer Creek Valley RV is conveniently located off I-70 in Topeka, KS. The sites are level, concrete, spacious with grass between sites and the park has a good, free wi-fi. There is a very good BBQ restaurant ( Lonnie's ) within a 5 minute walk from our site ( opens at 5:30 PM and come early for the Friday night ribs ) and the park offers a pool, picnic table, ( no fire ring ), gated entry, large dog park, a 58 channel cable connection and about four 10% rate discounts. It would be a 10 except for the fact that there are no planned activities and it doesn't offer planned resort type activities. It is also very close to the interstate and it associated noises. If in the area, we will use this park. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lonnie's BBQ is within a 5 min walk from our site. Excellent food.

My husband is in heaven here. He drove in and said "Look at all that beautiful concrete." Weird comment, I know, but after staying in a lot of dusty, dirty campsites, he was happy to have a clean spot. This place is an obsessive compulsive type's dream park. It is neat as a pin everywhere. The gorgeous lawn is manicured so that you can see the mower's perfect diagonal lines. If concrete can be beautiful, this is. There's a perfect playground, perfect large dog park and a perfect pool. The sites are perfectly level and perfectly lined up with long with a generous healthy lawn between them. Definitely big rig friendly. Security fence and coded gate after dark. The only drawbacks: no shade and some road noise. It's not for everyone, but it is "perfect" for some. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Eat at Lonnie's BBQ right next door. It is THE BEST. No kidding.

Large park with concrete pull-thru sites and interior roads, Office staff is most helpful if in need of a specific type retail store or such, large grassy dog park, small new equipment playground, swimming pool, with modern pedestals, good WiFi, and overall a great park to stay in, the gates are locked after hours and have code to enter park after hours. The Restroom/Showers/Laundry Bldg. is built for a Tornado shelter also, which is a great asset to a park in this area. It is very quiet although very interior trees and what there are few. Grounds are clean as are all facilities. Rate quoted is for a monthly rate of $450 plus $50 electric deposit. We are at the far side of the park, thus in Site #1. This is our second time here and will return if in the area again. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Topeka has too many sights & places to see to list any specific ones, although just outside the park is a BBQ restaurant with lunch hours only which used to be at another location ... Haven't tried it yet, but all say it is delicious and worth the line.

It is hard to add more glowing remarks to the previous reviewer. This is a beautiful, immaculate park with easy access off I-70, perfect for a rest stop along the way. The staff is warm and friendly and could not have been more helpful. We will definitely make this a stop on our next trip through this area! We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Check out the state capital, climb the 296 steps in the dome! Great view!
