What a great stop! Big rig friendly with large sites featuring perfectly manicured grass and picnic table. Gated entry, swimming pool and restaurant. Satellite, wifi and Verizon all fully operational. Easy pull though sites. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Booked 4 nights on the way home to NC from a trip to the Dakotas. Very nice park. Paved roads and sites, spacious sites with grass between, level sites, good bathrooms, convenient to I-70, full hookups with wi-fi and cable TV. There is a gate at the entrance with a code for night time access. Not sure why, seemed to be an OK neighborhood. Only complaint - not a tree for shade anywhere. Weather was warmer than we expected for mid-Sep. Expected that Topeka would be a more upscale town, but sadly the downtown area was totally dead on a Sat afternoon. Maybe everyone was at a college football game. Certainly recommend staying here, but not for 4 nights - not enough to do. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stopped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park for an overnight during travel from West to East. The staff is very friendly and helpful with recommendations and directions. As previous reviewers have stated, the park is clean, well-manicured and nice spacing on roads and between sites. This is a great stop for either an overnight or extended stay. They truly deserve the "top" review grades. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Ne spacious campground near to downtown Topeka. Very much an urban campground oriented toward motorhomes, but accommodates towables also. Swimming pool is shallow but wet and helps cool one off. Sites are concrete with grass between. Very nice campground. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

The roads are double wide concrete. The sites are long and made of concrete and have a patio with picnic table. The laundry is very nice and the bathrooms are great. The WiFi and cable are excellent. There is a night light at each site and the width between sites is as good as I have seen. This is the first park I have rated a 10, but it deserves it. We stayed in a 25 ft RV and would be glad to return. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

About and hour from the campground is the National Tallgrass Prairie Preserve in Strong, KS. It is a very nice area with walking trails and Bison Herd. Near there is a town called Council Grove which was settled in 1825 on the Santa Fe Trail. Council Grove was where the cattle drives would stop over on the way to KS railheads. It was also used by many settlers to meet and form wagon trains.

It is a nice place but they do not back up the rules for everyone the same. The long timers there get away with letting their dogs bark a lot at people and the pool rules are never backed up. They say a kid can't be in there with out adult supervision but when we went there, there was five kids in the pool under the age of 12. Called the office and they said are they doing wrong the park people only enforce rules they want to. Then shower floors are very slick; someone could fall and get hurt. No trash cans in men's room. The Wi-Fi it works when it wants to and when you call the office they tell you it is working as far as they can see. I could not get on half the time and got kicked off when I did get on.

If they would take care of some of this stuff it would be a greater place. Other then what I have posted it is a great place to stay. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Extremely nice place! Concrete streets and pads throughout. Reliable and well-placed utilities. Fairly close to I-70, but noise not really an issue. Very robust rules, which would be even better if anyone actually enforced them (pet rules seen to be violated frequently). Not much shade, but well-manicured grass, super clean office and restroom facilities. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

It is unfortunate that some visitors choose to ignore our plainly posted rules. However, rather than create a prison camp-type environment with guards walking the streets to police behavior, we would like to think most adults can behave properly when in a park such as ours.

Glad you enjoyed the park and our amenities, even if other immature visitors did not meet with your expectations. Lonnie's BBQ will be pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit there!

This place is great. We stayed for one night on way home from Denver. Super clean, place is very well kept. Owners take great pride. They only let well kept RVs stay there so you don't have a bunch of ugly rigs next to you. I would give it a 10 if only there were a few more trees. Pool and sites are great and super super clean. Sites are huge. No fire pits though :( WiFi worked great. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Could have fit two of us in our site. Trees around perimeter only but site had concrete patio and grass. Appreciated being level with good hookups. Laundry room, bathrooms, and shower building is also emergency shelter. Everything is clean and well kept. Showers large but dressing area floor gets wet. Staff friendly and helpful with problem. Enjoyed pool and dog ran and ran in large, grassy dog area. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a first class immaculately groomed park. Grounds are nearly mowed an edged. All roads and sites are concrete. Restrooms and laundry are current and clean. Cable and wifi work well. Check-in is a breeze. We will stay here any time we are through Topeka. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Our pull-through site had a level concrete pad and was more than long enough for our 40 ft motor home and toad. There were no trees near us large enough to block our satellite dish however some of the back-in sites on the periphery might have a problem with this. Wifi was average, alternating between fast and slow download speeds. Excellent Verizon signal. Cable TV with 70+ channels. There is a swimming pool and a playground for children. The park is immaculately clean and looks brand-new. Visually it's a little stark since all the roads and campsites are very regularly placed with essentially no trees to block or break up sight lines but I really wish there were more parks like this one. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here only one night. Very clean and well manicured place and lots of concrete as it is owned but a concrete company. There are lots of "rule" but it also keeps the yuckier people out, in my opinion. Pool was very refreshing. We did laundry here and very affordable and clean. Front office people/check in were extremely helpful and kind. Would like a few more trees but not complaining. Would defiantly stay here again. Over night stay passing through Topeka. Very nice newer park off I 70. All concrete roads and sites with some permanents but no junkie units and park rules about stuff under and around the sites. Long pads that needed no correction to get rig level. Utilities placed well with good water pressure. Pleasant staff on duty and very clean park. Nice grass spaces between sites, a little mushy at this time because of wet weather. Cable TV service was a nice extra. Basically a nice well managed park that yes, has some rules that some may find excessive but it's their property so live with it or move on. Also gated during evening and overnight. Would stay again when in the Topeka area. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Tip for the folks that are long. Carnahan off I 70 becomes narrow two lane with no safety lane when going south to 21 St. Also 21 St. is a narrow two lane with no safety lane when you approach the park entrance. Be mindful of your turns or bad things could happen.
