I can't remember the last time I have seen someone as rude as the owner. I cannot even wrap my mind around speaking to my customers the way she did with us. My advice? KEEP DRIVING, Go somewhere else if at all possible. The reviews on the KOA site are positive (probably submitted by in-house staff) but look at Yelp and other sites like this one. Our neighbor in the site next to us said the same about how she treated him. Very Very Rude!

Pull through sites were narrow and topped with gravel. Our step opened up to grass that needed to be mowed. Dog park was very nice and the only amenity we saw while at the park. Turning out of the site is hard to make in a big rig without getting on to the grass. We camped at WaKeeney KOA in a Motorhome.

The campground owners welcome you with open arms, friendliness and warmth. They will escort you to your campsite after checking in, will make sure you are set up OK. This is the nicest KOA we have ever encounter and elected to stay a 2nd night because of the service and friendliness. The grounds are immaculate, the sites are very spacious and easy to park as all are pull thrus. They built a new fenced dog play area that is extremely nice with green grass and no bare spots. This is a very, very well kept campground and the owners' pride can be seen everywhere within the campground. Stop in and stay awhile and enjoy an ice cream social 6 - 7:30PM and pancake breakfast 7:30 - 9 AM. These folks will welcome you as family. Cable and WiFi are free. Washer $1.75 top load (3 top loaders) or $2 front load efficiency (1 washer), 25 cents for dryer ~10 minutes (2 dryers). We camped at WaKeeney KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This park was a perfect overnight stop off of I-70. Very clean, level sites with ample grassy area between sites. Very dog friendly with a fenced in dog park and an open area for them to run as well. We would definitely stay there again if passing through. We camped at WaKeeney KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a nice quiet little park with level spots big enough so you can leave your car hooked up, if it's just an overnight. There is lots of grass for excellent dog walking and a tidy, well-maintained dog exercise area. The owner was very pleasant. They offer ice cream floats and parfaits in the evening, which we didn't get to try because of a thunderstorm. We camped at WaKeeney KOA in a Motorhome.

Adequate stop over on I-70. Easy in and out and sites good for entering without unhooking toad. Utilities worked well and were at the center of the site. With my amplifier, WIFI was good, but a little cumbersome to access. Cable TV was good. Lady who checked us in could be a bit more personable. Finding this place is a little challenging. When you exit the interstate and head south you must immediately turn left (east) on a road that appears to be part of the parking lot for a gas station and Subway store. We saw no KOA sign pointing us down that road. As KOAs go, though, this is above average. We camped at WaKeeney KOA in a Motorhome.

This was a top notch KOA! The owner was very helpful when we arrived with a broken window, providing cardboard, duct tape and other materials to seal and weather proof while we were there. Very friendly professional personnel, nice, clean, well maintained, grassy sites. The owner recommended a great restaurant for us in Wakeeney, The Western Kansas Saloon and Grill which stayed open until 9:00 P.M. Although Wakeeney is very small and in a remote part of the midwest, it's a nice little oasis in the middle of Western Kansas. We will return. We camped at WaKeeney KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Overnight stay. Park is convenient to I-70 with spacious pull-throughs and a great enclosed dog-park. Would have rated a 9 rating but for the surly countenance of the madam at the front desk. We camped at WaKeeney KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed 2 nights to visit an attraction in the area. The park is adjacent to I-70 so it is a short drive from the interstate interchange (Exit 127: US-283) along a paved 2 lane road that ends at the park. The road can become congested when there is a line of RV's checking in. While the park was built on a gently sloping field, the site parking pads were generally level. The interior roads and sites are gravel. The roads were wide enough as most were for one way traffic. The turns were easily negotiated by larger RV's. The RV sites are all pull throughs. The P/T sites appeared long enough to stay connected to toads. They have full hook ups - water, electricity (50 AMP), & sewer. The connections were generally at the middle of the site. The sewer connection was at the ground so it was easy to establish a downhill flow. Sites had sufficient room for opening slides. Distance and grassy areas establish privacy between the sites. There was an outside table but no fire pit as campfires are "strictly prohibited". There were no obstructions to the sky so satellite reception was good. Cable channel lineup showed 58 channels. The park provided WiFi was adequate. It was password protected. Our Verizon WiFi hotspot worked well. Didn't try the NET10 phone so don't know about cell phone reception. There was one fenced pet area along with a designated unfenced area as well as sufficient distance along the park's roads to exercise a dog. There were bag dispensers and collection stations for waste throughout the park and a couple of dumpsters scattered around the park. The fenced pet area was one of the nicest we have seen in our 5 plus years of full timing travel across the U.S. For being in a hazardous/severe weather area, didn't see an underground storm shelter or any structure identified as a severe weather shelter. We would stay here again if visiting the area. We camped at WaKeeney KOA in a Motorhome.

This was a nice park that filled up quickly as it was right along the freeway and easy access. All the sites appeared to be full hookups and were all pull-through. They had a nice pool and a dog run for your pet to be able to run. It was very noisy being along I-70, but having the A/C and a fan on made it able to sleep and not hear the road noise. No real mature trees to provide shade. We camped at WaKeeney KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nicely run KOA Journey park. They make no claims about being a destination. They're mission is to provide a safe, clean place to spend a night or two for us travelers, and in my opinion they do it well. The staff was very courteous and helpful. All utilities worked very well including the WiFi (refreshing). Our gravel space was nicely level and traffic noise from nearby I-70 was within reason. We would stay here again. We camped at WaKeeney KOA in a Travel Trailer.

I can't say enough good things about the hosts. I left my surge protector at the site and they immediately responded and are mailing it to me! The campground is right off of I 70 but we didn't notice any noise. It's summertime and we have had our AC running, anyway. Sites are level. Full hookups well maintained. Showers and bathrooms are nice and clean, as well. We camped at WaKeeney KOA in a Motorhome.

Expensive park for the location (this is a "Journey" KOA). Nothing really around but it was good for a one-night stop. The host was extremely kind. We were going through a very rough time with one of our pets, who we thought was going to Rainbow Bridge, and the host (who was very busy at the time) stopped what she was doing to offer us comfort. We will always be grateful. The best news is that she was misdiagnosed and our pet is still happy and healthy!

The only problem we had with this place was that the sites with trees had some very angry birds who dove at us since they had babies to take care of! We camped at WaKeeney KOA in a Motorhome.
