Very nice, clean, convenient campground, but far enough away from I-35 so that road noise was not an issue. However, we noticed a much louder train noise than on our previous stay (especially the coupling and uncoupling that was surprisingly jarring). Perhaps wind direction was a factor. If you or your pets are sensitive to train noise, perhaps you should find another campground. Wellington KOA was an overnight stop. We camped at Wellington KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

There are some newer "deluxe" sites in the back that are incredibly long cement pull throughs with patios (VERY nice).

The RV park was nothing to write home about, rather usual in features and enjoyable parts of the park but the effective help I received from the agent in charge at a rather late time in the day was really what allows me to value this park as highly -- customer service. She helped me retrieve some extra storm debris from the roof of our RV using a ladder stored at her rig in the park. This service was beyond the normal expected help. The park had some premium sites so others paid higher prices. We camped at Wellington KOA in a Motorhome.

I'm going to rate it a 4 as we did not get a chance to fully explore. We arrived at dark and left early and were unable to take advantage of the aminities. However, the staff was knowledgeable and helpful; the grounds were very clean with a lot of landscaping and obvious care; the spot we had was just right; the AC power was clean and good voltage; water pressure was excellent. I would definitely stay there again. We camped at Wellington KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for the 4th of July. It was a very quiet and relaxed place for the holiday. We had a patio site which was lovely. It was paved, very long, and very level. The site included a bench swing, table and chairs, and a very nice fire pit/grill. The cable and wifi were adequate for our needs. We camped at Wellington KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed just one night at this KOA campground. Very convienent to I-35. The sites are spacious, clean, and very well maintained. We enjoyed the pool, and the dog park for our 4 legged kids to play in and run around. If you are in this part of Kansas, spend the night here instead of the Wallmart. It is worth every penny. We camped at Wellington KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This KOA appears to be almost entirely used by overnighters. We stayed for a few nights in the middle of a 4-day drive to rest and resupply. The campground has a slightly old/worn feel, but not necessarily in a bad way. The area is wooded and attractive, and is only a mile from the interstate. While there's limited highway noise, there is some train noise in the distance, but it's not too bad. The gravel sites were average size for a KOA, but with a nice grass lawn, picnic table and fire pit. The fenced dog park, also average size, was handy, and we found a short grassy "trail" behind the park to walk on leash. The free WiFi was too slow to be usable, even when the park was mostly empty during the day. AT&T only had 1 bar of 4G and was very slow even with our booster. Verizon had 5 bars and was pretty fast. Staff was friendly and helpful at finding us a different site when we found that the one we were originally assigned had low branches that we knew our motorhome would be too tall for. We'd return here for another overnight or two in the future. We camped at Wellington KOA in a Motorhome.

Nice basic park convenient to I35 with a KOA sign right where you turn in off the main road. Good place for an overnighter. The park was easy to navigate and we pulled right into our site. Not much for shade but we prefer that so that our satellite dish will get reception. There was a nice pool but we did not use it. There was a constant rumbling which we soon discovered were trains that ran behind the park. If you're a very light sleeper, you might want to consider ear plugs. Check in was quick and easy. We camped at Wellington KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There's a Walmart just beyond the park entrance about 1/4 mile. You would have to drive to it as the road was a two lane highway and no sidewalks.

Thank you for the review. We have various site lengths so most do not HAVE to park off of their site, but there is additional off site parking if needed.

We have been staying at KOA's off/on for 20 years. Some are great and others just OK. We are in KC and we stopped here just for one night 3/23 on our way home. This one is a gem of a park just a few miles off I35. We left Amarillo early morning and after fighting terrible wind I needed a break. We got in maybe 1:00 and since we could enjoy the site all day the premium site was our choice. What a site!!! hugh level stamped concrete with a nice patio. Patio included a neat fire pit, a swing, and a table and four chairs. All hook ups as well as cable worked as expected. We enjoyed our short stay and will return again. The premium site was well worth the upcharge. This was our 14th night as well as the last night of a great trip and this stay was as memorable as our nights at the Grand Canyon. Great job folks!!! We camped at Wellington KOA in a Motorhome.

Convenient park just off the turnpike. Sites are gravel and spacious but not completely level. Plenty long for our 42' 5th wheel and truck. Good cable, dog park, pool, playground, catch and release
pond. There are 4 new "premium" sites that are concrete with a fancy firepit and a porch swing. All sites have a picnic table and ground fire pit. Good space between sites and the park is immaculate and well maintained. Wellington is a nice size town and there is a Walmart next to the park. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Wellington KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Very good and clean KOA convenient to the Turnpike as well as local shopping and food (the local WalMart and McDonalds are only a few blocks away). Plenty of room to maneuver and looks like they've made some improvements (saw some new cabins and landscaping) since the last time we stayed here. Would stay here again. WalMart and McDonalds are just a few blocks away. Wellington also has a very good local museum (Chisholm Trail museum) that has many local artifacts, photos etc from its early days.

Don't stay if you want a quiet night. Trains run all night and are very noisy and they are loud enough to wake you up. The store is very limited in what they sell. Town is close enough for shopping. Not too much to do here, just basically a place to spend the night on your way to somewhere else. We camped at Wellington KOA in a Motorhome.

Love this KOA. The only bad thing I can say is that the wi-fi is a little slow. Service and friendliness go way beyond excellent. Absolutely recommend. We were ready to pull out in the morning and noticed a flat tire on an inside dual on the motorhome. Owners were so very kind and considerate, especially knowing we would be staying past checkout and creating noise and some inconvenience in getting repair service out to us. I rate this park the highest of any one I have ever stayed at. We camped at Wellington KOA in a Motorhome.

Beware when hooking up to 30 AMP service. Owner claims to know all about electric. Our breaker at the electric box at campsite kept tripping. Owner claims it was our rig, however other campers had to use both outlets to get enough electricity to run their rigs. Other KOA's (and private campgrounds) we have stayed at have had the proper 30 amp hook-up and we have never had a problem with it. Would not stay here gain or recommend. We camped at Wellington KOA in a Motorhome.
