Enjoyed a nice weekend here. Easy check-in as the host was there as we pulled into the campground. We were surprised that they did not take credit cards and there were no picnic tables or fire rings at the sites. The campground was clean and had well-kept level sites and nicely mowed grounds. It was quiet and very close to town and surrounding attractions. We will definitely return. - bkbeck

We did not experience the problems the previous reviewers had. No barking dogs, no parties or excessive noise, cordial campground attendant ( led us to our site), and we had a level site with concrete "runners" for our tires and lastly, an excellent view of the lake out of our front window! We selected a water and electric site (50a) overlooking the lake. We had good Verizon cell service and MiFi (ours) and DirecTV satellite service. The park was well kept, no trashy campers and well maintained gravel roads-no potholes. We didn't use the restrooms or showers but found that the interiors could use a little painting around stalls and floors. The campground is well situated and close to downtown Bardstown and less than 2 miles from restaurants, groceries, etc. We most definitely will return here. Be aware there is not a sign in front of the campground but we were well aware that this was our destination because some RV's are visible from the road.
Perhaps the other reviewers were unlucky in theirs experience or perhaps there has been a revelation in a cleanup campaign in the park; however, in any event we definitely will return and encourage others to be positive while making their decision in stopping in this campground. We extended our stay to 4 days. - gatordan

All I can say is Run! Do not stay at this park Sites very unlevel. Bad power, Dogs will attack your dog that is on a leash. Owner makes rules that for some of his buddies they can be noisy, drinking, singing and playing music and keep you awake at night, way after 10pm. Been traveling for 3 years and this has been the worst experience we have had. Never Again. - Maverickpro203

We had reservations in this campground for a 34' fifth wheel. Upon arrival we were not able to maneuver our rig into the site. The road was too narrow and the site had an odd angle relative to the road. The hosts offered us another site but overhanging limbs limited my access. Had we been able to access that site, the power pole was 40-50 feet from the campsite, far too far for my electrical line. Another camper told us he had to purchase an extension for his power line to access the power. My overall impression - an old, poorly maintained campground unfriendly to fifth wheel rigs. Most sites not suitable for a fifth wheel or larger motor home. The roads were extremely narrow, overhead limbs a significant problem, and sites terribly laid out. We left to find another campground but so far no refund for our five night reservation. Unless camping in a tent or small trailer, I suggest you avoid this campground. There are better in the area. - Jayhawkfan
Aug 2016 - $25.00
The place is ancient and the utilities have not been updated. No state park personnel. It seemed to be all kids running the place. Talked to one adult. All the money goes into the golf course. Kids cleaning the restrooms need training. Overall, if it wasn't for the local tours the campgrounds would be off my list completely. For a State Park you can't compare with Florida or most the states we have RV'd in. - crustyob

Nice park. Close to bourbon country if that's why you are here (I was). Sites are relatively level, but do require some blocks. A quirk is that some hookups are far (20' or more in some cases) from the site. Very shaded and pleasant to walk around. We will stay here again. - steammaker
Sep 2016 - $30.00
Stayed here for five nights. Access was easy. Some sites somewhat unlevel but still quite useable. Campground manager was very friendly and accommodating. Bathrooms and showers were acceptable. Access to Bardstown activities quite good. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Bardstown area. - Jayhawkfan
Jun 2016 - $30.00
This campground is about 2 ½ miles west of the town of Bardstown. It is a simple campground, just sort of a large field with some trees. The driveways and the site pads are gravel. The site we had was far from level. Sites are full hook up with 50 amp electric service. For part of our stay we had a neighbor that was so close our slide outs almost touched. The WIFI service was very good. They also offer a bathhouse with showers and flush toilets that were not very clean. We paid $30 per night. Bardstown is in the heart of bourbon country so you are surrounded by distilleries. - Coopsecondact
Apr 2016 - $30.00
2 night stay in this quiet campground. 50 amp service, water and sewer. Owner led us to site. But why did they park another motorhome side-by-side with us and a few others, when there were many other sites available. Some only had 2 feet between slideouts. My Verizon mi-fi was roaming and you can't access the campground Wi-Fi from the sites. The lawn could have been mowed but it had been last week. Some workers staying at the park that were all quiet. During heavy rain, 3 inches of water at electric post. - pegdiver
Sep 2016 - $32.00
This park is an overnighter only. The sites are so close together our neighbor had to move his feet so we could hook up our sewer. I would still stay here again. Roads are good for our 42' fifth wheel. Would recommend getting a better sign. First time we stayed here we missed the entrance and had to make a u-turn. Even though close to interstate, still pretty quiet. - Jack&Wanda
Aug 2016 - $32.00
Pull thru site, but barely room to walk between campers. Washers in laundry took our money and wi-fi did not work. Staff unfriendly. Bathroom dirty.
Dogs allowed, but several mean signs about where they could be walked.
We stayed here because family was close by despite the bad reviews, and regretted it. - WendyJayne
Aug 2016 - $32.00
This is a small family run campground, nicely kept, and they take pride in their place. the park has good asphalt interior roads. Sites are fairly level pull through and gravel, with a small concrete patio. The problem with the patio area is that it is next to your neighbor's water and sewer hookup. There are no picnic tables. If you have a dog, you have to walk outside the park. There are signs everywhere about being evicted, with no refunds for violators of the dog rules. If you stay a week or more, they require a $25 damage deposit. That is in case you leave cigarette butts or cans on your site. We had a lot of butts on our site when we pulled in, so obviously they don't check well. There is no playground or pool, and they don't want children riding their bikes in the park either. This park is convenient to Louisville via I-65. The laundry area was clean and well maintained. One road to enter the park people also use to access the Flea Market and they ignore the stop sign, very dangerous! We would stay here again, as it is the most reasonably priced other than the State Park. - Vicki K
Oct 2016 - $44.00
Unlevel campsite. Didn't appear to be very well maintained. Dlectric worked ok; good water. OK for an overnight stay. - bobber415
Sep 2016 - $42.00
This is the weekly rate. Weekends are a bit higher. Interior roads and sites are gravel. The park is easy to get to from the interstate. Most sites have some trees. The tree at our site was too close for us to put out the awning. Wifi was slow and I had to keep reconnecting each time I used a device. Usually, they will "remember" the connection. There is some train and plane noise but it's mostly a quiet park. - dickens

There are always strict rules at a koa but they arent always inforced for everyone. - Jimjul
May 2016 - $24.00
Big rig friendly with very large level sites. Campground is great if you want quiet rural area and far away from everything. Of course no internet service because state park. Also, could not get my Verizon internet nor cell phone service. No dog park but lots of grass to walk dog. Bike riding was great. Showers had weak water pressure. Laundry was good. - Fulltimersrv
Aug 2015 - $27.00
Great park and very clean restrooms. All sites are large and can accommodate any size rig. - jgard
Jul 2015 - $25.00
We had a great site close to the bath house which was clean. Nice area to walk and ride bikes, horses are welcome too. Our family enjoyed the fishing. - Dottyann
Oct 2016 - $33.00
Actually, we didn't get to stay! The site we reserved was occupied and the occupant decided to stay another night! They put us in an overflow site too small for our motor coach with only 30 amps vice 50 amps we reserved. No sewer, water was not on the site and electric was too far for our cord even if we had a 30 amp adapter. Would have been nice if the owner called and told us ahead of time, leaving us to look for another campground, early evening on a Friday Night! - cbay
Aug 2016 - $28.00
Nice, clean, and well maintained campground. Stayed there six nights! Great place to base for touring surrounding area or spend the night when passing through the area. WiFi was good most of the time. - Navretiree
Jul 2016 - $35.00
This is a retired KOA with a Good Sam affiliation. With some TLC this park could be a KOA gem.
There are a few seasonal campers and for the most part they are respectable in their set ups. Lots of short term folks during our 3 day stay.
Buildings structures for facility buildings and pool were really gave a shabby appearance.
We had a problem with our electric. Had to move twice. Once for over night to a 30 amp site and then to a nice back in 50 Amp site.
Good water and sewer. Typical marginal wifi.
Quiet and convenient to area activities. Very easy access. Among the best for interstate road convenience. - wdw
