Enjoyed a nice weekend here. Easy check-in as the host was there as we pulled into the campground. We were surprised that they did not take credit cards and there were no picnic tables or fire rings at the sites. The campground was clean and had well-kept level sites and nicely mowed grounds. It was quiet and very close to town and surrounding attractions. We will definitely return. - bkbeck

We did not experience the problems the previous reviewers had. No barking dogs, no parties or excessive noise, cordial campground attendant ( led us to our site), and we had a level site with concrete "runners" for our tires and lastly, an excellent view of the lake out of our front window! We selected a water and electric site (50a) overlooking the lake. We had good Verizon cell service and MiFi (ours) and DirecTV satellite service. The park was well kept, no trashy campers and well maintained gravel roads-no potholes. We didn't use the restrooms or showers but found that the interiors could use a little painting around stalls and floors. The campground is well situated and close to downtown Bardstown and less than 2 miles from restaurants, groceries, etc. We most definitely will return here. Be aware there is not a sign in front of the campground but we were well aware that this was our destination because some RV's are visible from the road.
Perhaps the other reviewers were unlucky in theirs experience or perhaps there has been a revelation in a cleanup campaign in the park; however, in any event we definitely will return and encourage others to be positive while making their decision in stopping in this campground. We extended our stay to 4 days. - gatordan

All I can say is Run! Do not stay at this park Sites very unlevel. Bad power, Dogs will attack your dog that is on a leash. Owner makes rules that for some of his buddies they can be noisy, drinking, singing and playing music and keep you awake at night, way after 10pm. Been traveling for 3 years and this has been the worst experience we have had. Never Again. - Maverickpro203
Aug 2016 - $25.00
The place is ancient and the utilities have not been updated. No state park personnel. It seemed to be all kids running the place. Talked to one adult. All the money goes into the golf course. Kids cleaning the restrooms need training. Overall, if it wasn't for the local tours the campgrounds would be off my list completely. For a State Park you can't compare with Florida or most the states we have RV'd in. - crustyob
Jun 2016 - $24.00
Nice park. Close to bourbon country if that's why you are here (I was). Sites are relatively level, but do require some blocks. A quirk is that some hookups are far (20' or more in some cases) from the site. Very shaded and pleasant to walk around. We will stay here again. - steammaker
May 2016 - $24.00
Didn't have a reservation and golf tournament was scheduled so very busy, but luckily a site was available. Downside was having to do a lot of leveling to make it work. Noticed quite a few sites were that way too. Pull-throughs are few and require an additional $3. Golf course is right next to campground, easy access. Tournament members partied, which worried us, but settled down nicely after quiet hours began. This is a great locale for doing the Bourbon Tour. - kharmaquest

This campground is about 2 ½ miles west of the town of Bardstown. It is a simple campground, just sort of a large field with some trees. The driveways and the site pads are gravel. The site we had was far from level. Sites are full hook up with 50 amp electric service. For part of our stay we had a neighbor that was so close our slide outs almost touched. The WIFI service was very good. They also offer a bathhouse with showers and flush toilets that were not very clean. We paid $30 per night. Bardstown is in the heart of bourbon country so you are surrounded by distilleries. - Coopsecondact
Apr 2016 - $30.00
2 night stay in this quiet campground. 50 amp service, water and sewer. Owner led us to site. But why did they park another motorhome side-by-side with us and a few others, when there were many other sites available. Some only had 2 feet between slideouts. My Verizon mi-fi was roaming and you can't access the campground Wi-Fi from the sites. The lawn could have been mowed but it had been last week. Some workers staying at the park that were all quiet. During heavy rain, 3 inches of water at electric post. - pegdiver

Excellent park with nice conscientious owner, huge sites, great area. No complaints, very quiet. - Lookinforeden
Jun 2016 - $32.00
Agree with others, good for a few nights stay or if you want to visit nearby distilleries or Louisville. The office is only staffed in the afternoon, so if you try to call as we did you may get an answering machine. Someone eventually called back. We were told that if we arrived when no one is in the office to just pick a site in the front, which is what we did. The sites are nice and level, big rig friendly, pull-thru and gravel. They are pretty close together and there is no picnic table but we had full hook-ups. The wifi worked ok. There is no pool, dog run, or store. Laundry is $2.50/washer. Nearby is a big weekend flea market, grocery. Met our needs. - mohocamper
Apr 2016 - $32.00
Near the freeway so lots of noise and on the weekend the people going to flea market going roaring down the road that is also the entrance to RV park. Restrooms are very clean but no privacy for showers for the modest among us. We stayed here 7 nights because it is very accessible to freeways and Louisville. - Mrs.Picky
Dec 2015 - $32.00
We overnighted here and found it to be just what we need for that stay: close to the highway, clean and uncluttered, easy to navigate, level and dry, and affordable. The office manager literally jogged out to meet us, pointed us to an open pull-thru site, invited us to get set up and then come back to register/pay. Now, it's not the sort of place I'd want to hang out for a vacation (it's a bit sparse) and they do have a number of signs regarding dogs that might make dog owners feel picked on (we're not dog owners, so no worry for us). We would stay here again for sure. - User3490
Aug 2016 - $77.00
The park is very well maintained and clean. KOAs are always a little pricey, but the programming this weekend was Hawaiian weekend and my boys got to learn to hula dance and there were appetizers and free water/capri suns. It was really cute and the staff was very friendly.
Back-in spaces seemed to have more room. Our pull-through was very convenient and easy to park/level but was narrow.
Our boys rented the banana bikes and had a great time. There was a lot of room to ride them on the paved roads in the campground. The jumping pillow was great but the boys got pretty dirty. It had been raining a lot so that's probably why. I ran both mornings...the campground is pretty big so the outer loop, including the tent lane, is 1.5 miles. There are also nature trails, but it had been raining so I didn't chance it. Pool is open 9am to 9pm and was very clean and warm. Overall, we had a really great weekend. - Kadavis08
Jul 2016 - $56.00
It's a KOA. Roads and sites are gravel. Yes they have the playground and a nice pool and putt-putt. And they go out of their way to give you good service. But the park needs to clean up a few things. Poison ivy climbing up the trees, looked like they sprayed the grass in many of the sites around us with grass killer in large areas. We arrived on a Sunday and the trash dumpsters were overflowing and were not emptied until Wednesday. Flies were terrible.
We also rented a cabin for a guest. Overpriced at $70.00 for a bunk bed and twin bed, no bathroom. It was obvious the floor hadn't seen a broom or mop in weeks. - 1texan
Jul 2016 - $49.00
We asked for water and electric only. This is the 3rd time we have stayed there and they told us those sites were full so put us in full hook up....more money...each of the 3 times there were sites available that would have been less money. This is a scam. Tight spaces, tight roads. Will not return..We camped here in a 43 foot motorhome. - Bgp
May 2016 - $24.00
Big rig friendly with very large level sites. Campground is great if you want quiet rural area and far away from everything. Of course no internet service because state park. Also, could not get my Verizon internet nor cell phone service. No dog park but lots of grass to walk dog. Bike riding was great. Showers had weak water pressure. Laundry was good. - Fulltimersrv
Aug 2015 - $27.00
Great park and very clean restrooms. All sites are large and can accommodate any size rig. - jgard
Jul 2015 - $25.00
We had a great site close to the bath house which was clean. Nice area to walk and ride bikes, horses are welcome too. Our family enjoyed the fishing. - Dottyann
Aug 2016 - $28.00
Nice, clean, and well maintained campground. Stayed there six nights! Great place to base for touring surrounding area or spend the night when passing through the area. WiFi was good most of the time. - Navretiree
Jul 2016 - $35.00
This is a retired KOA with a Good Sam affiliation. With some TLC this park could be a KOA gem.
There are a few seasonal campers and for the most part they are respectable in their set ups. Lots of short term folks during our 3 day stay.
Buildings structures for facility buildings and pool were really gave a shabby appearance.
We had a problem with our electric. Had to move twice. Once for over night to a 30 amp site and then to a nice back in 50 Amp site.
Good water and sewer. Typical marginal wifi.
Quiet and convenient to area activities. Very easy access. Among the best for interstate road convenience. - wdw
Jun 2016 - $32.00
Perfect overnight stay. Our site #5 was a little close to our neighbor but we really have no complaints for the price and full hook ups. Nice pool for the kids. I would stay again if traveling through. No need to unhook the toad if you don't need to. - pacevette
