Mar 2018 - $1.00
This was an evening stopover on our way north but a snowstorm held us over an additional day. The park is conveniently near Interstate 275 and entry into the facility is easy. The facility is completely paved and each site has ample space for the motor home and our full sized vehicle. There is plenty of grass space between sites and a grass picnic area with tables. There is a wide area inside the gate to disconnect your toad. The park has full 50 amp electric, water and sewer on 12 sites. There is an overflow area with electric only connections. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and shopping within a mile. This is a clean, quiet and well managed facility that is better than most parks where you have to pay a fortune to stay. As a FMCA member you can stay free for 2 nights - with a modest charge for additional nights. Do yourself a favor and stay here when you need an overnight stop. - Rob&Terri
Oct 2017 - $20.00
Your decision to stay here has to be purely price point driven. We stayed six nights and had to be near an airport, so we decided to give it a try. We were in the overflow area with electric only, which works fine for us. Verizon coverage was good. The cemetery across the road and the small lake behind the property (with a 1.4 mile walking trail which was nice) might lead you to believe it's fairly quiet. But traffic on the road this sits on starts about 5am, and includes heavy gravel trucks back and forth all day long. Understandably, there was a lot of MH traffic in and out since most were staying just one or two nights. If we were passing through the area again and needed one or two nights, we might stay again - it's hard to beat the price. - Roaming Together
Jun 2017 - $20.00
What a nice little campground for FMCA members! It's $0 for the first 2 nights, then $20 for the next 5 nights. Very good for a few days stopover. Concrete, level pads set in cul-de-sac with FHU's. Spacing is good with lush green grass. This is an FMCA members only site, there are 15 sites with another 8 overflow sites with electric only. The closest place to that you can camp Cincinnati too. It's about a 20-40 min. drive to attractions depending on where you are going, so nice and quiet. Sure can't beat the price (free for the first two days, then $20 for any day there after up to a week. You really only need about 3 days or so to see Cincinnati anyway, so it's perfect. Great stopover place. - MarieB

Sep 2016 - $20.00
The rate reflects weekly rate divided by 7. This is a long-term park and not really meant for a weekend outing. That being said, when one wants to visit the area for 3 or more nights, the weekly cost of $135/week becomes equal or better than 3 nights at a normal commercial campground at $45/night. We were greeted by the park host on a golf cart as soon as we pulled in. He escorted us to our site, helped me move the picnic table, and then gave me advice on getting into the site. The sites are state park-ish. Electric and water hookup. Some sites are more spacious and typically have long-term residents on them. Riverside sites are all taken, so don't expect one of those for a weekend. There are some really long term units there, but they are are few. No shady characters. Most campers are full timers up north for the summer. There is a dump station near the exit of the park. There is a picnic table and a fire ring at each site. Downtown Cincinnati is about a 15 minute drive from the park. - WineStream
Sep 2015 - $35.00
We spent five days on a full hookup 50 amp site with a concrete patio. The site had ample room for our 35' and tow. The utilities were convenient and there was a reasonable amount of space between sites. This section of the park looks newer as there were only small trees at the site. Trees line the back of the sites though permitting evening shade. The center road offers concrete pull thrus. We paid $41 for an hour pontoon boat rental and rode around the lake. It was VERY convenient to all things Cincinnati as it was 3 miles S of I275 inside the loop. For a park inside a huge city, this park felt like you were in the country. One complaint: There is an older 30 amp section too. We moved to this area during the weekend. The sites were closer and we had a rude neighbor that had eight cars spend the weekend. Half of these visitors parked on our site.Next time I will tell the VIP about excessive neighbors who don't respect other peoples space. - Tammy7
Jul 2015 - $55.00
It's a gravel parking lot with crappy campers, no grass,. And don't be fooled, it really has no connection to the Woodland Mound park at all. Lots of rules. We were given a lecture about partying and when we told the lady that we have a three year old, those days are over, we received a lecture on quiet time. So we said we wanted to just camp and run up to the water park -- cue next lecture, on coming in and out of the park and creating a disturbance. - malik0976

Aug 2017 - $33.00
Generally very clean, but our fire pit was completely full of ashes when we arrived, and no one ever came to clean it out. The people in the site next to us pulled in front first instead of backing in, so their windshield was facing our drivers side windows. So, no privacy. A porta potty was right across from us. On our third afternoon, our 30 amp electric kept cutting off, even though we weren't using anything except one AC and fridge. It was a very warm day, so this made our last night most uncomfortable. They said there was nothing they could do because they couldn't get an electrician until the next day. Since this is a County owned, very large park, that's really unacceptable. I feel certain the county employs many electricians. Water pressure was not too good either. Took almost 1 hour to fill our freshwater tank. They only have a few sites with full hookups and the rest are 30 amp only, with no water or sewer. Definitely not worth what they charge for 30 amp service and nothing else. It's in a sketchy area, but it is gated. The price includes a $14.00 annual entry fee you are forced to pay. Not sure I would come back. - CEB002
Aug 2017 - $35.00
This is our second trip since 2015. There is now a splash area for kids. The sites are clean and level. The utilities work great. There is a concrete patio. There is not much shade on full hookups. The 2 mi walking path is always busy and boat rentals are available. We visited downtown CincIncinnati, Ark Encounter, ikea, the basilica in Covington, and Houdini's Escape from the campground. All was within 45 minutes but the road construction near Cincinnati is horrible. It's a nice place to stay to visit all things southern Ohio/Northern Kentucky and we will be back again. Nice place! - Tammy7
Jul 2017 - $38.00
This is a nice campground close to Cincinnati. Good location to visit the city from - perhaps too close. We stayed over July 4th weekend and the drunks were worse than what we have experienced anywhere. The campground facilities are nice as is the park they are connected to. Service was good from everyone except those who are supposed to enforce quiet hours. The quoted price doesn't reflect the Park entry fee of $10 per day. - JessJosh61

Nov 2014 - $35.00
Stayed in the equestrian campground due to size of camper (35 ft.) but did not have horse. Large level gravel space with water and electric. Lake was short distance from site so easy access with kayaks. Road bikes around park without any issues. Very peaceful and quiet setting. Fishing, golf course and wonderful environmental education center on site. Local winery very short distance away. - NKyCampers
May 2014 - $20.00
This was our first trip in our RV. This park is very poor. The park is not clean, They have 26 "Improved electric" sites available. The sites are very small - almost too small for a pop-up camper. They are basically small uneven pads on a hill close to the lake. Would be good for a tent but not for any type of camper. The park is gate controlled and if you have visitors they must pay for the vehicle to be on the grounds. There was a boat race on the lake the weekend that we camped. It was very loud and could be dangerous. I made reservations but was not notified of this high speed boat race. The boats started very early and went on into the evening. Park was staffed with what appeared to be high school kids that did not care. - depguy

Jun 2017 - $35.00
Getting to this park requires good advanced mapping and intuition; there could be more directional signage. This park is not suitable for long 5th wheels and motor homes. The park map does not show the steep grades and very tight curves with large trees close to the narrow one-way road. Very few sites are level. Bring plenty of blocks. It was very difficult to back into my site due to the trees and the location of the electric post. Plan to drive your rig to the water station to tank up before backing in and setting up. Heavily wooded. Only electric hook-up. Camping is a long way from the rest of the park which has no place for swimming. The bath house is new, very clean and free. - Osita5
Jul 2016 - $27.00
The campground is in a nice park facility with a great play area for the kids located down by the lake. It is not real close to the campground though.
We also had to purchase an annual county park pass to be able to get in ($10.00).
The reason for the average rating is very few of the sites are level. Many of them are slanting downhill so it is hard to get level.
They could use a little better signage directing those who do not live here to the campground and check in. We drove past it the first time and had to call to find out where to go.
Also, even though they have a maximum camper limit of 6 people and two tents (or one camper unit and one tent) per site there were several that had many more than that, one having at least 18 people in it and one with 4 tents.
Their dump station is also located on a hill making it hard to get completely empty.
It is a very busy park on the weekends with lots of tent campers - 3 to 6 tents per site.
I would recommend this campground in certain areas only and during the week if possible. - prstlkid
Jul 2015 - $28.00
This campground is very close to my home, so we camp here pretty regularly. The upper sites are rather hilly, and most of the lower sites are mostly level. There are a few towards the bottom that have a bad slope, though. There is a playground located in the bottom section, as well. The park offers a lot of attractions (a snack bar, water park for little kids, paved bike trails, disc golf, fishing, hiking trails) and the campground features decent sized sites with plenty of shade. The bathrooms and showers have always been clean when we have camped, and the campground is monitored regularly by park rangers who are friendly and not overbearing. We have a pop-up so without a toilet, so we do not have the problem with the dump station that I keep reading about. Overall, if you are looking for a quiet campground with a lot of activities within the park, I would definitely recommend this park. - McLovin Camper

Sep 2017 - $44.00
The park is nestled around a lake and the owners take good care of the grounds. Fishing and boat rentals are both available. This camper did not use the park facilities and found the nightly rate fairly high. RV parks in the Cincinnati area are very scarce so they can charge on a supply and demand basis. This camper used the park as a staging area for local activities. - Oddyssey
Jun 2017 - $44.00
The campground is larger than it appears. We wanted a pull thru, so we didn't stay next to the lake. It was all gravel in our area with no shade trees. There appeared to be some long-term residents. The park is well maintained. There are several odd-looking ducks that roam the campground - they are fearless but friendly, and they don't seem to leave a lot of droppings around. They have limited office hours, and no one is there in the evenings. The office staff were very helpful in person and on the phone. They don't have online reservations, which I found irritating because I prefer to do everything electronically - we sent a deposit check through the US mail to hold the reservation. There are no organized kids activities, though there were paddle boats along the water that you can use. It was close to Cincinnati, which is why we chose it. I wouldn't consider this a destination campground, though if we'd chosen a back-in site along the water I might feel differently. - Morning Star
May 2017 - $44.00
Our 2nd stay here and not as pleasant as the first. I was quoted a rate on the phone that included a Good Sam discount so I made a reservation for the next day. When we arrived late afternoon the next day, they charged the full rate and didn't give me the discount even after I showed them my GS card! They advertise and tell you on the phone that they give the discount so I'm following up with GS about that. It was too late for us to find another overnight stop so I paid the full rate. I think that's what they're counting on if you get there late. As a self described mom and pop operation, they appear to make the rules on the fly. Some people get the 10% Good Sam discount, and others like us don't, and I don't know what criteria they used to determine that. We won't be stopping here again. - Flippitti

Only a few (all reservable) with full hookups. Rest of sites are walk up and electric only. No water connections. Mile down to lake from G loop. Beach closed - hazardous materials? Antenna TV. No wifi, but Verizon 3g was fine. No one at gate and being new at this we went on line and reserved which cost us extra. - RvCandyP
May 2017 - $28.00
Busy on the weekends, but with so many camping loops there is always something available for a couple of nights. The loops are diverse with some open and sunny while others covered in lots of trees. Generally quiet at night except on the weekends as quiet hours are not enforced, nor did I see law enforcement...not even once. Mini-golf is very far (at main entrance) from the camping loops except loop A. Small basketball court that floods when it rains. Lots of garbage and syringes down by the lake from the campground. Need more park ranger patrols as people come in at night and loiter around. Site 71 is aligned East to West with nose of vehicle pointing East and is up against the forest on one side while the other side is separated by 20 to 30feet of grass from another camp site. Some hiking trails but watch for ticks. Nice paved biking trail, but many loops work too. C and D loops are close to a playground. Verizon signal was 4g 2bars and times 3bars depending what loop I was in. - mynyel
Sep 2016 - $33.00
This was our very first stay in our new camper! Whole family had a great time. Site was nice and level (#56). Got good reception to listen to Bengals game on Sunday. Took kids on a nice hike off of loop K (Fern Hill Trail). Camp host was friendly and helpful. Only complaint was the group of hornets hanging out near the men's restroom. - Williams Clan

The park is nice, clean & quiet. No highway noise here. Our site was right on a lovely creek! Staff was very kind. Website clearly states only water & electric hookups. You dump on leaving. They also had convenient parking for our car trailer. I would definitely recommend to others. - User3782
Mar 2018 - $32.00
Campground was an adequate overnight stay when traveling through the Bluegrass state. Located a couple miles off the interstate, quiet and no highway noise. This CG is mostly permanent campers but has one row of gravel pull thru sites for campers just passing through. There are no sewer connection sites and the water was turned off since it was below freezing. Electric and cable worked fine. If you are self-contained, and only staying overnight after driving all day, this campground will work. - Ohio Camping Family
Sep 2017 - $31.00
Park is very tight quarters coming in expect your privates to draw up as you cross the small bridge to check in, big rigs be careful. Then after you check in you will have to do a tight turn around to go back to the pull-throughs. And when you get there- no sewer. The dump is back at the check-in area. Dont get me wrong this place is ok, but if you want full hookup keep traveling. - Pauldodge1

Nov 2017 - $25.00
My wife and I camped on site 35 for 4 nights. The site was level enough, however the water hook up required 3 hoses to reach. When you look at the alignment of the waterline it would have been so simple to add a riser and provide water close to the site. I have never been to a campground for 4 days in my life and not talked to a single person. Not friendly to folks they don't know or are not a regular. - Jackson Dial
Oct 2017 - $25.00
Picked this state park as equal distance between Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter. Beautiful setting on top of hills, sites spacious. Need long water hose, visitor center is informative and fun to view. Bathrooms are older and dated, but the shower was hot and that's all I need. Park was very comfortable for our 7 night stay. - G&S Smith
Oct 2017 - $21.00
Very nice well kept campground. The lady at the desk worked hard for me with some of my issues. Recommend to anyone. 2 minor issues for me. Leveling was one the other was we needed 2 hoses for water and only had 1. If you go be sure you have 2 hoses if you want water. - waxhands

Sep 2017 - $41.00
This park has two sections; we stayed in the lower section along the Ohio River. This used to be our very favorite RV park, but this most recent stay was a disappointment. The road was a disaster, large potholes full of muddy water. The grass needed to be mowed, and we never did get their wi-fi to work. The final insult was: Since our last stay, the price per night went up over $10 per night. With some road repairs and general sprucing up, the park would be very nice, but I'm still not sure it would be worth $45 per night. - SW Ohio Travelers
Aug 2017 - $50.00
Pool can be hit or miss with chemicals and being green. Grounds upkeep has significantly declined over the last 2 years. HUGE potholes everywhere, they have said they are adding gravel for the last 2 years, if it rains, it is a muddy mess on the roads! - AEGR
Jul 2017 - $45.00
We stayed there for 2 nights with our GS camping chapter with 7 units and 1 using the very unsatisfactory cabin. The roads leading to the campsites are asphalt, but once you get to the area of the campsites the road turns to gravel and is full of numerous large potholes. On the one road you was supposed to leave out of campgrounds there was a pothole large enough to be a small pond and when I drove through it after a heavy rain with my Jeep Wrangler, I thought I was about to lose it in the pothole, it was so deep. When leaving this morning everyone try to avoid it by goin through an empty site over to the other drive which wasn't much better, but at least you wouldn't fall in. The park was very full as it was a NASCAR Weekend at Kentucky Raceway. The yard needed mowing and actually the whole park is in a state of severe array. Someone needs to get a hold of this park and clean it up or it is doomed to extinction. On a plus note, this park could be a SUPER NICE Campgrounds if someone would just give it a lot of TLC. Last but not least, it is also overpriced for what you get. Almost forgot, the Wi-Fi was atrocious, never was able to get on it. - paulbe
