We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, over Labor day weekend, with a reservation of course. The campground was packed, but not overly noisy. The attendant was expecting us and had our paperwork ready to go. She gave us a camp map and told us how to get to our campsite. She was very friendly and helpful. It was easy to back into and set up in, with electric and water hookup within easy reach. We had a few trees for shade, but would have preferred more to be honest. The sites that had water and electric hookups had very little tree shade, but primitive sites were in the forest treeline. I would trade that for the waterfront view any day. We were literally within 20 foot of the lake, with a excellent view of it. The electric flow was good, with water pressure being a little low. They had a private campground beach, located in a cove area. It wasn't too deep and nice to cool off in. There were very few people at beach, but I think it was because everyone was boating in the lake. It also had a very nice marina set up there, with various boat docks for people to tie off boats for the night if they wanted to while camping there. The roads getting to the campground were tight, but manageable.

Make sure to have what you need as far as supplies go, because it is a good bit from any stores. There is a "grocery store" within 10 minutes from campground, but it is more a shack than anything else. Also, for people it matters to: very spotty wi-fi and cell service. There are no bathhouses at this campground, only porta-potties set up. That being said they were well maintained at least. There were 2 trails located in the campground, but I did not use them. Overall, I will be coming back to this campground if given the chance and would recommend it to others looking to get away for a quiet getaway. We camped at Pikes Ridge Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Pikes Ridge is remote and slightly primitive. The campground is directly on Green River Lake and has a beach area in a small cove. Electric & water service is available at sites 1-20. These sites offer little or no shade, and are close together with no landscaping between. Sites 6-17 are lakeside, and a few have docks on the water. Sites 18-20 are more spacious and have a partial view of the beach cove. Along the perimeter of the CG are deeply shaded non-electric tent sites (sites 40-55). There are no bath houses at Pikes Ridge, only port-a-potties. Host is on site, and a small grocery is 4 miles away. We liked Pikes Ridge for the beach area, very accessible, good sand, and a warm cove to float in. A wonderful woodlands loop trail at the CG was well maintained. Friday night was quiet, with only a few campers. Saturday afternoon the place filled up, and seemed like everyone brought a couple of dogs. Even with all the campers, the beach was not crowded, as most seemed to be boating on the lake. Overall, Pikes Ridge was a nice weekend getaway. We camped at Pikes Ridge Campground in a Motorhome.
