Overall Rating:

This park is geared towards use as home-base for touring the area, not a kiddie-park in itself (no pool or playground), not a Resort park. It is well priced, well managed, and offers level gravel pull thru sites with full hookups. Trees are young yet, not a lot of shade offering, but: generous room between sites, no problems with slides or awnings. Meticulously maintained, spotless restrooms. Excellent cable with lots of channel choice; WiFi is far better than most parks. If the noise from a railroad or interstate bothers you, close your windows and turn on your a/c, you won't notice it. This is our 4th stay in 35' Class A with toad. We look forward to our 5th stay. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Lots of tourist things to do/see in the area, many geared to family fun. Good family-style restaurant and fuel service selections a short drive (or long walk) from the park.

Close to Mammoth NP. Close to the hwy and train tracks but the noise wasn't too bothersome. Check in was easy and you get escorted to your site. Sites are long pull thrus that have the utilities placed so that they can be reached and still leave your tow attached. Very well maintained grounds. There were a few children here during our stay but there isn't much for them to do here i.e. no play equipment or pool. There is another park nearby that would be more suited for families with young children. If ever in the area we'd stay here again. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Use the directions from their website to get here. My GPS took us one street further than I needed to go and I wasn't sure I going the right way until I was almost in the park.

This is an excellent RV park. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and meticulously maintained. You can tell the management works hard to keep this park in the outstanding condition it's in. Our site was level and long enough for the motorhome and toad, with generous space between sites. It is also a great value, considering it's in an area with a major tourist attraction. There was some highway and train noise, but it didn't bother us. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice park. Very clean restrooms and showers. Landscaping was fantastic....loved the butterfly garden. Sites were level and clean. WIFI was excellent and cable was HD. Just be aware that occasional train noise might bother you during the night/early morning. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Agree with prior reviews. Beautifully landscaped and cared for. For $10 they will allow you to wash your rig at your site with your hose - we made use of that. OTA cable was very clear with lots of channels. Train and highway both nearby, as are restaurants and gas. Mammoth Cave about 20 minute drive. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Motorhome.

This is truly an outstanding RV park in all respects. The attention to detail is reflected in the immaculate grounds and lay out. The wifi is the best we have experienced with an extremely strong signal anywhere in the park. Long level sites where our 45' RV and tow car had plenty of room. There is some noise from the passing trains and some occasional traffic noise but for us it was not a problem. The quality of the staff is second to none and the young man who guided us to our site was personable and professional every time we interacted with him. In fact he is a real asset to this park. I only wish I had remembered his name to thank him again. We will be highly recommending this park as we travel around the country. Great Job Cave Country! Stopped overnight in Feb 2018. Terrific place. A nursing student checked us in (didn't get his name). Quick and efficient. Then he insisted on escorting us to our site. Then made sure all the utilities work. Internet & cable were good (vs many RV parks with NO FI). When walking the dog, it rained - he picked us up in golf cart & took us back to camper. Very well maintained. Every aspect neat & orderly. Trashed picked up at your site. All pull thru. Every site has nice picnic table & brick fire pit. Walk to Cracker Barrel and a few other restaurants. Great for overnight and would be great when visiting Mammoth Cave. Close to I 65, Cave City & National Park. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a beautifully landscaped metropolitan park off of the I-65. As it is so close to the main road there is quite a bit of traffic noise as well as frequent trains. The sites are all pull through and especially long and level. Utilities were well placed and easy to use. Water pressure was adequate at 45 PSI . There was cable available however OTA television stations were adequate. Both Verizon and Sprint worked well. There was an especially nice fenced grass dog area as well as grassy open areas to walk along. There was a fairly large grassy area between each RV but little tree coverage for shade. Most of the spaces had in ground fire pits, but because of the lack of privacy between sites we didn't use this feature. Within a few blocks are several eating establishments as well as fuel stations. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Mammoth Cave National Park is just a short drive. At this time of year we were able to get into tours easily but noticed that all of the weekend tours of the cave were full. If you wish more rustic camping experiences the state parks on the north side of the park have access via Ferry to make it an easy commute into the National Park.

We use this park regularly on our cross country trips to visit family. We have reviewed this park before, but it such a nice family owned park it bears repeating. It's always a pleasure to stop. We know it will be clean, friendly and secure. It's a small park but it is lovely. Wide pull through level gravel spaces with lovely flowers. Hook ups are strong. Cell service good (Sprint) Nice dog park. Easy in and easy out. It does have train tracks close by, you do hear the trains, but we did not find it bothersome. Will stay here again-for sure. Overall Rating:

Great campground. Very clean and easy to maneuver. We stayed on a Friday night when all the area schools were on fall break, so it was good we had a reservation as the CG was full. Site was gravel and fairly level. This park is definitely big-rig friendly. We have a 25 foot class C with towed car (44 ft.) and had a lot of extra room front & rear. All sites are FHU. Water pressure was 60 PSI. I am not sure why we were charged an extra $7.00 for 4 people (2 seniors + 2 grandkids 13 & 11) plus an extra $2.00 for booking (online, I guess), but we got Good Sam discount. We arrived after office closed at 6:00 and late check-in was easy, also firewood was right there for $4.00. Fire ring was stone, so we were able to cook out hot dogs and smores. CG was far enough from I-65, could barely hear sound from it. There is a railroad line nearby, but it didn't bother us as we live in an approach path for an airport and are used to jet planes flying over. Everything is close by, restaurants, attractions. Mammoth Cave is about 20 minutes west. One thing I didn't know until check-in: Check-out is 11:00 AM, but additional time can be purchased at $3.00/hour. Since we planned to stay until 4:00 PM Saturday, that would have $15.00 instead of booking for a second night for $40.00. If we return to Mammoth Cave area, we will definitely stay here again. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Mammoth Cave NP is about 20 minutes west. First week in October is fall break for area schools, so book cave trips ahead of time. Plenty of other attractions in the area. Also, lots of restaurants nearby. Park is on a dead end road away from that area and was quiet.

We made our reservation for two RVs 6 weeks prior to our arrival. We asked to not be near the train tracks as we had read it was problematic for many. Sure enough they put us right near the tracks, the closest two to the train tracks. We were all set up before we knew we were right next to the tracks. The long noisy freight trains ran frequently. We could not even hold conversations while the ran. All night it was noisy and disruptive. The management apologized but offered no help. They said the other end of the park is just as noisy. We know that was not true. None of us would ever stay there again and would advise people to find a different place. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Motorhome.
