Friendly staff and escorted to RV site. Asked for the tree to be trimmed since it was hitting the RV. They must have forgotten. Great doggie park. Gravel through out the park. No pool. Parked the RV for a week and saw the attractions around the area. Loud trains all day long and night. Reasonable weekly rate. Enjoyed our stay will be back. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice sites, not too close together. Quiet. Close to park and freeway. Not much shade and a lot of ants. All in All, fairly nice. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Our 2nd time staying here level pull thru, all hookups worked well, good wifi and upgraded cable, some train noise as the tracks close by. Would stay here again. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is a beautifully landscaped metropolitan park off of the I-65. As it is so close to the main road there is quite a bit of traffic noise as well as frequent trains. The sites are all pull through and especially long and level. Utilities were well placed and easy to use. Water pressure was adequate at 45 PSI . There was cable available however OTA television stations were adequate. Both Verizon and Sprint worked well. There was an especially nice fenced grass dog area as well as grassy open areas to walk along. There was a fairly large grassy area between each RV but little tree coverage for shade. Most of the spaces had in ground fire pits, but because of the lack of privacy between sites we didn't use this feature. Within a few blocks are several eating establishments as well as fuel stations. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Mammoth Cave National Park is just a short drive. At this time of year we were able to get into tours easily but noticed that all of the weekend tours of the cave were full. If you wish more rustic camping experiences the state parks on the north side of the park have access via Ferry to make it an easy commute into the National Park.

Overall Rating:

Convenient on/off the interstate and 10 minutes from Mammoth Caves NP. Mostly-level gravel pull-throughs with grass in between sites. Friendly check-in staff with escort to your site. Daily morning garbage pick-up. The sites are kept clean and neat. Trees to the southwest may block your satellite reception but cable has a good channel selection. Utilities work fine and are the normal place on each site. We stayed two nights to allow visiting the caves, which are a worthwhile tour. Plenty of other kid-themed activities in the area. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Bucky Bee's BBQ was just OK... There is a long hiking/biking trail with gravel surface through the NP which would be ideal for a bike ride.

check in was efficient and cold. The place is very clean and the grounds are manicured, level sites with plants and grass and even a few trees. Wifi was spotty at best, the owner says it depends on how tall the RV is that's parked next to you! Noise, the train tracks are right there, and loud, the road noise is also there and loud. We stayed here 3 days and the noise stayed with us. Close to everything in the small town, we saw the sights and got on our way. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

This relatively quiet RV campground is located off KY 65 near Exit 53. (It must be noted that active train tracks do border the end of the campground, but few trains blow their whistles, so the noise is not too obtrusive.) There are a few longer term residents in the park, but most are short-term. All occupants in the park are extremely quiet and very friendly. The office personnel are wonderful, offering help whenever possible. They made our stay very pleasant. All sites within the park are very long, gravel pull-throughs (plenty long enough for our 45' coach and our tow), and the roads within the park are also gravel. However, most people do drive slowly, so not much dust is raised with regard to the gravel topping. Between the wonderfully angled sites (you are not looking into your neighbors windows) are nice grass divides with a picnic table. Permanently placed fire rings are located between sites, often shared between two sites. One suggested improvement would be to increase water pressure to the sites, if at all possible. Additional amenities include laundry facilities, a small exercise room, and restrooms/showers, all located in the office complex and at-site daily garbage pick-up. There is no pool or spa on the property. Within the park, there is one park model that is used as a nightly rental. At the far end of the campground is a bark park, pavilion, and a clubhouse available for rent. Within easy walking distance of the park is a multitude of restaurants. Plenty of choices for everyone! It was great to walk to and from dinner...a bit of exercise after a nice meal. Although there are other RV parks in the area, it would be our choice to stay here again, especially since we are traveling without children. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our month-long stay at the park, using it as a home base for our visits to Mammoth Cave National Park, Diamond Caverns, Hodgenville (Lincoln's Birthplace and Museum), Bowling Green (National Corvette Museum), Nashville, Louisville, and all the sites of the surrounding area.

We felt the park was over priced at$30 a few years back, but $40 is a bit over the top. The rate was $40 less 10% Good Sam + $2 for 50 amp electric. This is a nice enough park with long gravel pull through pads..which due to rain had water standing in adjacent grass. It is easy to navigate the interior roads with easy access off I-65. I doubt we would return and opt for one of the other Rv parks in the area. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Motorhome.

A few restaurants close by, the normal fast food chains, along with a steak house that was good and a very nice Mexican restaurant. Mammoth Cave is close by, as is are some tourist traps for the kids.

Next to busy train tracks or I would give it a 9. We were right next to the tracks and the trains run all night.

Request a site further back from the tracks and you will enjoy it much more. Great friendly service. Good Wi-Fi. Cable TV. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a well run park. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Big rig friendly with wide gravel roads and easy turns. The landscaping is very nice and well kept. The dog park is large and grassy with evening shade. The trees at the campsites are well placed and will afford plenty of shade when they mature. Right now there is not much shade. Although there is a railroad track nearby, we hardly noticed it. The location is very close to Mammouth Cave National park and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The WiFi was very good and Verizon worked well. This is a great park for longer stays or overnight. It would be a wonderful place for a rally too. Very nice park with well kept grounds. A very nice workcamper checked us in and escorted us to our site. This park is 5 miles from Mammoth Cave National Park. It was easy maneuvering the park roads to our level gravel site. Close to restaurants and fuel. We stayed two nights and would stay again. The only reason I did not rate higher was because of the proximity to railroad tracks and the noise created by the several trains passing through. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This CG is very convenient to the interstate and while there is a little traffic noise, it is not loud enough to be disturbing. It is immaculately maintained. Every site is a pull-through with 30/50 amps and full hook-ups. We found the wi-fi weak but we were far away from the office.
Almost everyone at this CG was visiting area attractions and there were lots of really nice motorhomes and fifth wheels. We liked this CG very much and would definitely return. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The caves at Mammoth Caves National Park are famous and a tour is a "must". But some of the hikes - mostly rolling hills in green forest - are equally delightful and this is one of the few national parks which permits dogs on the trails.
