5 Parks near Central City, Kentucky
Oct 2016 - $18.00
Nice park for a short stay. Site was big enough for our MH with slide outs and everything worked fine except the dump hookup as the inlet pipe did not align with the lower pipe so decided not to use as the chance of a backup and clog was too great.
Showers used 6 foot tall plastic fencing for the stalls a creative and very workable idea. Owner was absence most of the time.
Would stay here again. - Brian & Corky
Sep 2016 - $35.00
After a long day's drive I pulled in to this park. It was after hours so I self-parked in one of the overnight spots. All utilities are at the rear of the camp site (B6 in my case) but I only needed electric service. The power pedestal was a bit low but was equipped with 50/30/20 Amp receptacles. My site was a bit unlevel but not so much as to require leveling pads. The owner was cordial and I really don't have anything negative to say. It wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. - KC8RXQ
Apr 2014 - $30.00
Park layout has great potential, but basic maintenance is ignored - grass, sites, building etc. Most sites looked uneven and make sure to park in row B if you want water. Tried Row C but water not on. Ladies room closed for renovations and men's rooms was overall clean but shower and bath dividers were PVC and traps. Shower curtains filthy and needed to be replaced. No security on bathroom doors. I felt the $30 rate was high given the overall park and showers. Did speak with the owner on consideration on the fee and was told that women's showers were an amenity and the rate was a good one for full service (cable, water, sewer). Was planning to stay for 6-7 days but cut our visit short for two days because of conditions. The cable and TV service was fine and overall quiet park given closeness to the highway. The park is totally open and is not secure including the baths/shower rooms. the park had 7 guests one night and 10 the other. Has outside playground but needs attention like most of the park. Office not manned but owner will pick up phone if called. Had to pay cash for both nights and did not ask owner if he would open office to pay by CC. For me this is a overnight only park. - ewald628
Jun 2010 - $19.00
Small campground right by the lake. Sits on top of the ridge by the lake and there are woods between the campground and lake. So you cannot see the lake from the campground. Short drive down to beach area for swimming and the lake is great for fishing. Campground is clean, including the bathhouse. Nice playground. Washing machine and dryer available at the bathhouse. Out in the middle of nowhere, so make sure you bring everything you need. - KentuckyCampin
May 2007 - $25.00
We camped here in May 2007. It had everything the website promised - water slide, man-made beach, putt-putt, 18-hole golf course right next door, etc. The problem was that most everything was a little run down - including the clientele (shirtless rednecks). Apparently, the campground went bankrupt, and just recently changed owners. We met the new owner (very nice) and he is very intent on fixing everything up - but he has his work cut out for him. We were in the nicest-looking section (#500's) - the other parts of the campground couldn't quite shake the "farm" feel to it. The downside to the #500's was how far it was to the bathhouse. Overall, lots of potential. I hope the new ownership invests some money into fixing it up a little. - kenpatriot
Jul 2016 - $15.00
This is a very fundamental park. Stayed two nights and would return. It is quiet. There are activities associated with a Fairground and locals bring their kids to play in the water feature. Trailer parking and class C parking can be in a wooded/shaded part of the park. We stayed in a 40' class A with no slides. It is a back in only and towed parking is tight. We would return based on our experience.
The County staff went out of their way to stay for our late arrival. They were awesome. - Travelall
Sep 2015 - $9.00
Rate reflects Passport America rate. After pulling into the facility for an overnight stay, we were met by the Host who gave us several options for sites. We chose a 30 amp site with water which gave us a clear site to the south for our on-board DTV satellite dish. Hookups were on the wrong side but it worked with both electrical and water pressure was good. The host came back later and made sure everything was good with us and to see if we needed anything. We would stay here again. - StarlifterFE

Bathrooms/showers clean, but run down. Some people may not find them satisfactory. Fort Hartford, on the property, interesting. Frequent events at the park, musical, dancing, equestrian. - sailor323
