Park on the edge of no where. Nice, shaded, big sites, overlook the Mississippi River. No real staff at Park. There is a camp host but she was not here when we arrived. Just found our site and it was marked as reserved for us. Camp host dropped by later and checked on us. Verizon iffy. Do not buy the tengointernet, waste of money. Nice people. We would stay here again, but unlikely we will ever be in this neck of the woods again. We camped at Columbus-Belmont State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Not much close by. Visit Beard and Roses. Small grocery with good pizza and bakery items.

We took a trip to Ft. Defiance Park to see the confluence of the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers. Not a great site. Don't expect to eat in Cairo, IL. Pretty much a ghost town, kinda sad. Also, no diesel close so fill up before you get here.

Nice little park in an isolated area on the banks of the Mississippi River. Not much to do but great for people with children. Like others have said, the connectivity is bad...no Verizon service to speak of. We camped at Columbus-Belmont State Park in a Motorhome.

For Civil War buffs, the park is nice. There is a beautiful old cemetery across the road with a great walking path.

Although one of the more expensive state parks we've stayed in, we really loved this park! The ONLY downside that we found was that some sites were unlevel requiring longer wheel based vehicles to drive up on blocks. Having said that, our site (#27) was pretty level with a great view of the river below. The "available wi-fi" is a system that you have to pay for. However, we were able to use our Verizon phones as a hot-spot. The camp host was extremely helpful! We camped at Columbus-Belmont State Park in a Motorhome.

Definitely pay the minimal fee to go into the museum at the state park (and drive a little to the Wickliffe State Historic Site as well).

Very clean and well maintained campground. Showers and restrooms were clean. The sites are all back in. The full hookup sites we have used (24 and 25) are mostly level. Site 24 I did not have to do any leveling at all. Camp sites are large and most have shade. The premium site have a view of the Mississippi river. We camped at Columbus-Belmont State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Great park. Very peaceful and very well manicured. 30 minutes to shopping. The phone service with Verizon is bad, one bar at best. WiFi, which costs extra, is mediocre hence the 9 rating. If you totally want to unplug this is it. Our host was friendly and always ready to help. We had a problem with our jacks and she let us move to a more level site. WiFi would not let me add pics. There is a day park with sandwich shop within walking distance. I would not recommend the fries. The park was beautiful with a lot of history and overlooking the Mississippi.

If you're looking for a quiet and peaceful park where you can sit back and enjoy nature with a water view then this is your spot. We wanted water view, shady and 50 amp with water and sewer connections. This hit all of these marks plus our spot had a swing facing the Mississippi! Heaven! The camp hosts came by to see if we needed anything. They were very friendly and made "rounds" every day. When I asked to buy ice he even brought it to our site! How thoughtful. This was a beautiful spot to spend a few days. The sounds or nature, breeze and plenty of shade made it perfect! We camped at Columbus-Belmont State Park in a Motorhome.

What a delightful park. It's on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi and was the site of the CSA built to stop the Union ships from moving down river. Roads: Paved and easy to get around on. Sites: Paved, reasonably flat, with picnic table and fire ring. Our site was 33 and we had to add a 3" lift to the left-rear so the air bags wouldn't max out. Most of the sites are pretty level with those on the top of the bluff the flattest. There are a few sites that are pretty steep. Bathroom and Shower were spotless, showers had good pressure and started with great hot water that was lukewarm by the end of the shower. This is the only negative I had with the park. They have hiking trails, great views of the River, a museum, mini golf, and a snack bar with burgers and ice cream. The park is about the only thing going in the area. They do have a restaurant in town that we didn't eat at and a small grocery that doesn't carry much so come with supplies. We had a reservation and just drove up to the site. They don't have any office there and drive ups are handled by the host. This is a very quiet and relaxing park and we'd stay here again if we're in the area. We camped at Columbus-Belmont State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Not much besides the park. If you're really bored you can drive over the Kentucky Bend. It's in Kentucky but you can't get there without driving, walking, flying, or swimming through another state. It is also the low point of Kentucky. As long as you're there you could run around and say "Hey" to the 18 folks who live there.

Once again we enjoyed our stay....our site sloped some front to back but was able to level....services worked great with fhu and our site had a great view of the mighty Mississippi River....restrooms and laundry were clean, with plenty of hot water...park was peaceful and the area is great to explore....AT&T was ok, used our hotspots although the park has Tango, but it was very slow....once again this is by far one of the nicest parks in our commonwealth.... We camped at Columbus-Belmont State Park in a Motorhome.

Visit the small store in town, the owners are doing a great job and are accommodating campers very well...visit Sikeston Missouri while there and go to Lambert's, home of the throwing rolls, great food about 45-50 miles, plus you may see an eagle or two.....also go to Reelfoot another very interesting place...

This is our favorite Ky state park because of location.....this is a small park with a lot of character......the campground is small but the sites are large and some with full hookups...the sites that overlook the Mississippi River are fantastic....we sit and watch the barges go up and down the river all day and night....our site was large with full hookups and everything worked great...the showers and laundry were clean and had plenty of hot water....the park is in a quiet area and it's very peaceful...there is a short nature walk around the park and the history and exhibits around the park make for a very enjoyable stay... We stayed here over-night while traveling back home after a vacation out west. This is a smaller park, but very neat and clean. As someone else mentioned the sites are paved, but not level. There is a nice amount of space between sites. We happened to get a full hook-up sight on a Thursday night. While we were there it was very quiet and restful. We were traveling with a 40 ft. fifth-wheel pulled by a dually pick-up and we were able to get them both on our site. Camp host was very nice and helpful. We'll definitely come back to this little gem. We camped at Columbus-Belmont State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Busy park during summer and weekends. Spacious sites with water and electric. Lots of kids, but quiet at night. Pay wifi, but a weak signal. Not worth the extra fee. Only 2 showers and toilets which is a problem when the park is crowded. No central check-in. With reservation just proceed to your site. There is a list of unreserved spots on the post as you enter the campground. Hosts will come around to collect. We camped at Columbus-Belmont State Park in a Motorhome.

Beautiful large well kept grassy areas, I had a preferred site #27 with full hookup, there are 9 such sites. My site was a river view of the Mississippi River (not Tennessee). Parking pads are asphalt most are not level. Park had several children's play areas, hiking trails, civil war museum (campground is the site of a civil war fort), 3 rental cabins and a small food vendor. WIFI was contracted and had a $4 per day fee (didn't use it). Campground maintenance personnel were very cordial and helpful. Very nice group picnic pavilions. In all, one of the nicest state parks I have ever been to and would like to return. We camped at Columbus-Belmont State Park in a Travel Trailer.

My wife and I purchased our first tent camper last weekend. So we went here for our first outing with our new to us camper. The camping was very clean. Grass was mowed. There were virtually no limbs or sticks from the 100+ trees in the camping area. Almost every site has trees on it except a couple that has river views. The restroom/shower room was very clean and had hot water. They do sell firewood and ice here and they have a snack bar in the park itself that sells ice cream, hamburgers and other snacks. The down side is the nearest store is about 12 miles away. The nearest town of any size the has restaurants is about 30-35 miles away. This park fills up quick on the weekends even though it is kind of the beaten path. But there is not a lot people driving though the campground looking. It has a nice play area for younger kids. We camped at Columbus-Belmont State Park in a Tent Trailer.

It is a nice campground, but I was disappointed with the river view. It indeed is far in the distance, much more so than I expected. Not a lot to do in this park, and a lot of really unlevel sites. The other problem was that there was barely any Verizon voice service and almost no data service, so I had to purchase daily passes from Tengointernet, at $4 per day, and even had problems with that not always not working. I was able to get satellite from Site 29, but the site just north of me might have been better. There are a lot of trees, so satellite is pretty iffy. We camped at Columbus-Belmont State Park in a Motorhome.
