Our pull-through is very long but part is on grass and there is no sewer. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Motorhome.

Great shaded sites. Most of them are paved with water and 30/50 amp and cable T.V. Bathhouse was absolutely spotless. Nice pool and fishing in Elkhorn Creek is close to all sites. Grandkids enjoyed their stay with us. Only issue was that the campground is listed under Full Hookup Sites, but all of the sites with sewer hookups are taken up by long term campers. Dump station was easily accessed. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

WE stayed 2 days at Elkhorn, one day resting up from a long drive. Our site was concrete pad with both concrete and a wooden patio. The sites are very. Because of the patio and our short stay it did not seem bad. We had very considerate and nice neighbors. For a longer stay it was a little close quarters. Site was level, but cars & trucks parked across the street made it a little tight getting backed in correctly. Admittedly we are not expert at that.
The restrooms were separate from the pool area- both a plus and a minus. They were clean and comfortable, carpeted, not seen that before. It was very clean however.
We enjoyed the cable and good wifi.
there were good spaces to walk your dog and a container or two to put clean up for him. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Frankfort is close with lots to do there. Some kayaking available on the Elkhorn River.
Try the Cattleman Restaurant. Steaks were very good, service good too.
Area has some big stores and some more local. WE try for the locals.

$30 a night for just E&W seemed high. The wifi did not work. We had a nice site backed up to the creek. The paved site was narrow and uneven but there was room and lots of grass between sites. Dog walk is way up front along the road where you drive in. The dump site was backed up with campers waiting to dump so we didn't use it. Staff was very nice. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We spent four days in a creekside site. Sites by the creek have electric and water but do not have a dump. All sites are asphalt and thick grass. The dump site is convenient and a hose, in good working condition, was available at dump site with non-potable water. Sites are close together but still pleasant because of creek. The majority of sites are creekside and the banks of the creek is nicely mowed grass. Park had only ten pull-through sites and they are more expensive. Restrooms are simple construction but clean. I would have appreciated more water pressure and hotter water in showers but this wasn't a big deal. Be careful if you use a GPS; my GPS took me to a gated country club. It would have been major inconvenience to residents and to me to disconnect and turn motorhome around but a security guard guided my humble motorhome through and out of the country club. I got a few cold stares from residents. As it turned out, the country club is directly across the creek from my creekside camp site. Good WiFi. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice campground with a lot of people staying here. Showers exceptionally nice - the roomiest of our trip. Nice area to walk dogs. Others close by, but was not a bother. We were late getting here because of traffic, but they kept the office open. Lot spacing was very close with some shade. Site surface was a concrete pad. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We felt that the previous reviewers were a little too generous with this campground. We pick CGs based on reviews almost exclusively from this web site, and this is the first time all winter that we were disappointed.

This campground is a dump. The infrastructure is aging and in need of upgrade. Some of the pads are being lifted by tree roots, the electrical and cable boxes are falling apart, the patio decks are rotted and are depressed below the pads causing a tripping hazard. The sites are fairly close together and the first one they assigned us shared utilities with a cabin. The putt-putt golf course is run down and dirty. They were doing some construction on the office and the sidewalk was covered with dirt which got tracked in the bus.

We had planned to stay for 3 nights but bugged out after 2. I would skip this place. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Motorhome.

I think that last review was a little harsh. Granted there are some sites with bulging site pads and decks in bad shape but most are fine. It is an older park and the bathroom and laundry are not fancy, marble counter tops. This is an average old campground. Roads are paved, sites are paved, many have a wooden deck that is fine. Utilities worked fine and, maybe because of our booster, the WiFi was fine. Laundry is only $1 each. The biggest downside of this place for me is if you got one of the sites with the utilities on the wrong side (be sure to ask when calling) or one with a tree making it tough to get in your site. Some sites are back-to-back. Verizon signal was fine. Otherwise this place is fine if you aren't all snooty. We live full-time in our RV so we see a lot of places, we've seen much worse. I would stay here again if was in the area. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is very clean with some full timers but was clean. Office lady was great and got us a pull-through with sewer for our 1 night stay. We were just passing through but the site was level and all services were in good location. Most sites had a wooden patio and fire ring. Only bad was we needed propane and the guy was gone and would not be in until we were gone the next day. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Motorhome.

Good Sam rated this park as a 10. That is too high. Park has many permanent sites with all the "stuff" that entails. Sites are small and ours was not level. Park just looks a little old. Lots of shade. They charge 3 % to use a credit card. Had trouble with cable. They had to hook up a box so we could use it. Office staff and person who worked on cable were very helpful. WiFi typical of RV parks - poor. Price was fair. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for two weeks as I was working in the area. We enjoyed our site. Staff was helpful, and full time residents friendly. Site was tight to get into but once there, was comfortable. The sites were on the small side, but there was room to stretch out and relax on the concrete patio. Slab was also concrete. 50 amp was not available at all sites and hookups are shared in hubs with other sites. Make sure you request 50 amp or you may not get it. If we came to the are we'd stay here again. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Motorhome.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Good: Centrally located for many historical and family activities. Asphalt roads. Grass. Wood decks. Good Wi-Fi and cable. Sewer is well set. Shade.

Bad: One water and electric pod per four units.Water and electric may be on the wrong side of the rig. sites are very tight-folks just walk through your campsite!

Ugly: Reservations made 2 months ahead-34 foot class A, 50 amp site. Arrived and paid for 3 weeks-no itemized bill. Pleasant site-hooked up to 50 amp. 15 DAYS later we were told we had not paid for 50 amp. At the desk and the owner was clearly angry with us. We said we made these reservations well in advance and would be happy to pay the difference if there was an error when we checked in-she behaved as though we were thieves. She began to wave a white card and said "all the information was put down on this card and there was no mention of 50 amp and I took the reservation"-I looked at the card and she had written "24 foot RV"--I mentioned there were clearly errors on this card-she started to escalate and become loud-denying she had made an error-we stayed calm-I said, "What can we do to make this right?--she told us she had no 50 amp sites available and we had to take 30 amps for the remainder of our stay or leave and she would give us a refund (even though there was a huge sign behind the desk stating "Absolutely No Refunds"). It was late in the day-we chose to take 30 amps for the night and leave in the morning. She figured out what we owed, subtracted the remainder of our stay-refunded it to our card-and that was that. She never once apologized for the inconvenience or the errors. She was rude and extremely confrontational. I believe she knew she was wrong and that's why we were offered a refund! In the 15 years we have RV'd (all over North America) we have never come across a situation like this or been treated in this manner. We would NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!!! We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Motorhome.
