While this campground accomodates Big Rigs, it is borderline when full. Parking for tows and toads is at a premium and takes up space near the streets making turns difficult. Utilities are solid with decent Verizon signal. Our site had borderline satellite reception as there are many trees around. The park seems to be well maintained and has facilities that families would enjoy. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice park but sites are tiny; had only 4 feet between the back of our 45 ft fifth wheel and the neighbor behind. Could not park truck without being half way in road, very hard to get in and out of, other than that we enjoyed it! We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed both going and returning from our eventual destination. Very busy campground with every site taken. There were many permanent residents. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Travel Trailer.

One of the top two bath houses I've seen. Very clean and modern. The sites are close together but people are friendly, so not really an issue. We were on the end in 89B so we had some extra room. The owners are very nice and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. You can easily walk to fish in the Elkhorn Creek. If you're a runner like me, one loop around the campground, out to the main road and down a side road was about 1.5 miles. Lots of people brought dogs but they were all leashed and people pick up after their pets. Very well maintained campground. Looking forward to going back. It's also VERY close to restaurants if you decide not to cook but feels like you're way out in the country. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Travel Trailer.

There was a really bad rain storm during our stay so we decided to eat out rather than cook. You can be at Cracker Barrel or Cattleman's in 6 min.

My perspective is that of an overnight traveler with a 40' motorhome and toad. This is a decent place to stay. My pull-thru site was a combination of gravel and turf. The campground was full and the site spacing is tight. Water and electric connections were decent. Care must be taken while traveling around the campground roads given tree limbs but can be done safely. The road into the campground is narrow and meeting another RV requires someone to pull over. The staff was friendly at check-in. Generally speaking, this was an okay stop for the night but I wouldn't consider it a destination campground unless you wanted to visit the area amenities. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Motorhome.

Our level campsite backed up to the creek. There was plenty of shade which was appreciated in the summer. Check-in staff were friendly. Bathrooms were old but clean. Showers had lots of hooks available which is very appreciated. Pool, horseshoes, shuffleboard and mini golf available but we did not use it. There are some longtermers but their area is not trashed or cluttered like so many other parks. We have a 24 ft Motorhome and no tow. Plenty of room. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Motorhome.

Their website says they have cable but once here one finds out it is only for a few sites. Also the wifi is weak and spotty we could not access it. Spaces are rather tight - one would not want to spend a long time here. We thought it was rather pricy for what you got. It appears this place is a big family destination. Lots of children riding their bikes around. We spent one night here and did not unhook. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a popular park for families who live relatively close by. We stopped for one night (Saturday) and the park was packed. It may feel less cramped during the week. We didn't use the pool, but it was VERY popular with the families! There was no dedicated dog park and the designated area to walk them isn't very convenient (basically a grassy narrow shoulder on the road leading into the park). The interior roads are tight, making parking and leaving somewhat challenging. That situation is made more difficult by the number of campers who were parking multiple vehicles on their site. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Motorhome.

Beautiful, clean and quiet park along a branch of the Elkhorn river. Very friendly check in. Lots of permanent folks but they are in a different area. We had great connection to our Dish. First trip to Kentucky, we stayed 4 nights and used as a base to do quite a bit of sight seeing to Lexington, Louisville, Perryville and Lawrenceburg (and of course Frankfort). Will definitely go back. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Motorhome.

Our site was a back-in space along the creek with water and electric hookups. Our site was paved, but some are gravel. Very peaceful and serene. The grounds are extremely well maintained and featured a number of mature trees, providing some shade on a number of sites. The second generation owners are friendly and for the creek side sites, they space campers out so you won't have neighbors right next door unless the campground is really busy. For those who camp in tents, there is a really nice area of shaded sites along the creek, yet close enough to the restrooms. The pool looked nice but was a few days from opening as we were there a little before Memorial Day weekend. The restrooms and showers were clean when I checked for the purpose of this review. There is a coin laundry, though it is almost hidden next to the lawnmower shed, and everything there seemed to be in working order. Compared to what you can find in town, the camp store had reasonable prices for firewood and ice, and even sold hand dipped ice cream. There is complimentary wifi here which worked amazingly well considering the campground was about halfway filled and we were some distance from the office. I almost hate to say anything negative about this place, but will say that the majority of the sites with full hookups and cable TV are occupied by seasonal campers. If you need to have all those amenities you may be out of luck here. Maybe that isn't a bad thing as those sites are jammed in pretty tight, many with big rigs, adding to the claustrophobia. Water pressure is rather high, to the point where there was a regulator already on our water spigot. The rinse hose at the dump station lacks a regulator, making for an interesting show when people turn it on for the first time. Only a few over the air TV stations are available here if you have no cable or satellite TV. We will likely stay here again the next time we are in the area. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a family-run cg that is very nice. We will have moved 4 times by the end of our Frankfort stay but we love this place. There had been quite a bit of rain so the 1st spot (86A) was muddy and had a tree in the middle of the patio so the awnings could not be extended. The 2nd site (80A) was good but our 45' coach mirrors hung out in the road a tad. The car had to be parked elsewhere. Site 57 was perfect with a fhu, everything fit with room to spare, patio, and nice grassy area for our dog to hang out. We liked it so much here that we extended our stay for 2 nights which resulted in us having to move a 4th time to a riverfront spot without sewer. No big deal and the dog loved it. They keep the grounds nicely groomed, there are new picnice tables, and they power washed the fence this week. Everyone we met was very pleasant and helpful. They really worked to get us into a good site for our 3 1/2 week stay. I would rate this place a 10 if all of the sites were level, asphalted or gravel, and a little longer to all for some stretch room. As I said, we were in a great spot but there were many that were very snug back to front, particularly. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Motorhome.

Good for short stay. Sewer hookups about 5 feet from picnic table. Sites are close, lots of permanents. Now the good: all roads and pads are paved. Location is great for touring the area. All utilities worked fine. Nice friendly people. Would definitely stay if in the area We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a lovely park. It seems older but it is in good shape with strong power and lots of digital cable channels. We were here for a rally and they Parked our group together as well. It is a quiet campground and the river that runs thru it would be nice to back up too. I would stay here again. The only issue is that they need repeaters for their wifi to reach all the sites. Elkhorn is well off the highway surrounded by what appear to be Kentucky horse ranches and a golf course and was very quiet overnight. Reception was friendly and as we were looking for an overnight site and didn't want to unhook, the lady asked for our total length and then consulted her list. They have measured each site and have a binder of photos showing the dimensions of each so that we were able to pick the one that looked best for our needs. A recent heavy rain had filled the creek that runs along the property to capacity and it was running fast only feet behind our site. I checked it on arrival and again before retiring to be sure it wasn't still rising. Despite the heavy rain, the grounds were not soft or muddy. Most of the sewer and cable sites were occupied by seasonal campers, the balance of the sites along the creek were W/E only and there is a dump near the exit. Some of the older trees appear sketchy and a large limb had fallen causing major damage to a trailer. I will return here if we were to come this way again in the future. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Travel Trailer.

I thoroughly enjoyed this campground. I was in a back-in site right next to the Elkhorn River which runs through the campground. The site was easy to get into with plenty of space on either side. My site, #10, was long and level. The wifi was strong at my site. The bathhouse has recently been remodeled and it was modern and clean. The dump station was easily accessible. The washers and dryers are only $1 but the laundry area is a little small. The grounds are impeccable and the staff was very friendly and courteous. I stayed a week and I would definitely go back.
