4 Parks near Georgetown, Kentucky
Sep 2016 - $30.00
This is a very crowded park. Sites are very close together and there is no where to park you tow vehicle or your toad if you have a motorhome. The site(s) we stayed on where just barely big enough for our 40 foot motorhome and the front end was right on the street. Parking is difficult due to the amount of tow vehicles parked on the sides of the road (both sides). Also, our site was so soft our jacks in the rear sunk down 12" in the gravel. Boards were not much help.
When you arrive, there is a gentlemen that insists on "parking" you. I don't really want someone showing me where and how to park my rig, so I just had to ignore him which he didn't like. I know my rig, where it needs to be on the site, etc., and really don't like someone telling me I'm back too far, or I need to get closer to the utilities etc., when they don't realize I have to be able to open my basement doors.
Overall, it's a decent campground, but there are others so much better so we most likely won't be back. It's just way to crowded and close together for my tastes. - sixtires58

Aug 2016 - $32.00
This is a lovely park. It is huge, but plenty of space for everyone. It has fishing, basketball court, a wonderful pavilion, pool, laundry, etc.
Our site was backed up to a green lagoon - very quiet and private. - W Davidson

The back-in sites here are excellent but I give it an 8 because wifi was very poor and there is no sewer. Taking showers in their shower room saves on the grey water situation. All sites are level and are conveniently located to the well-stocked store and refreshing swimming pool. Making reservations through Reserve America worked well. - exceltraveler

We stopped here as an overnight spot. We have a 38 foot RV and could not get level in the full hookup spot we were assigned. It was supposed to be one of the more level spots in the campground. The office assisted us and eventually we found a spot in the primitive electric area with 30 amp service. If you have a larger motor home, this is NOT the campground for you. That said, there are lovely fields for walking dogs and it is well located and visually appealing. - Dapper
Jun 2016 - $35.00
Very large, but well laid out campground with large sites. Staff were very pleasant to work with. Went to the horse park each day we were there and were given rides via golf cart. Return trips were easily arranged also. - gfarmcafe
Sep 2016 - $37.00
Stayed one night. This was a nice park, easy to get to. It was busy, but not noisy and did not feel crowded. Had a pool and putt putt course, and a covered area for groups- had a small arcade there. Was a good camp for kids/families. I checked out the bathrooms and they were clean, but like many others have said- maybe the AstroTurf carpet is not a great idea - wear flip flops and you'll be fine. - 72Chev
Aug 2016 - $30.00
Only stayed one night but a good experience. Easy pull throughs, didn't have unhook. Lots were spacious and mostly shady. Site surface was asphalt and featured a fire ring, picnic table and patio. - Fire7C
Aug 2016 - $33.00
Called ahead for a 3-day stay at campground. Requested full service and was assigned site in monthly area. Nice 'cause we have raised wooden deck instead of patio. Site backs on to fields.
Many large rigs in park - a combination of open and treed sites. Paved interior roads are easy to navigate.
Nice and quiet which we appreciate. - DCM/JMB
Aug 2011 - $26.00
This is a nice campground about 10 miles outside of Frankfort KY. Initial impressions were that the grounds were somewhat "aged" but after paying and heading to the site, the actual grounds are very nice. They are back quite a bit from the office and well maintained, quiet and pleasant. Our only issue was that the electric spiked high voltage every evening around 7:00. This caused our EMS to shut down the electric to our coach and start the inverter to protect our system. The length of time varied each day. We had good Verizon cell and air card coverage. The owners were very pleasant. We would return if in the area. - Gypsy Turtles

Rate reflects a weekly rate. This is a gem located north of Frankfort on the Kentucky River at the mouth of the Elkhorn Creek. Entry can be misleading as you cross a single-lane bridge on pavement and then transition to gravel. The area around the office and the storage area are a bit unkempt, but as you are escorted to your site you round the bend and see a beautiful, unspoiled meadow. All roads are gravel and single lane but courtesy makes traversing them no problem. We requested a site for our satellite and had no problem connecting. However, many sites are in the shade so be sure to request an open site if that is important to you. The full-hook-up sites have many seasonals but their campsites are neat. The hook-ups are conveniently located and easily accessed. The sites are gravel surrounded with grass. This is not a resort but if you like a state park atmosphere with full hook-ups, you'll enjoy Still Waters. There are also two primitive areas and water/electric only sites available for RVs and tents with a dump station on the grounds. There are no trains, no highway noises, no city lights. Frisbee golf, fishing, hiking, volleyball and a lots of wide open spaces for the kids to run are located on the grounds as well as canoe rentals available at the concession in the campground. Probably could be busy/zoo on a summer/holiday weekend or if there's a company picnic on the grounds, but during the week it is an oasis. Located about 10 miles north of Frankfort, Still Waters is close enough to access all the sightseeing available in the area. Would definitely return again. - Here4Now
