We called last minute when we discovered our usual Lexington spot was full. We needed 4 nights to visit family, and we rate this a "find". Although quite a bit north of Lex, the drive in was easy enough. The park did have somewhat of a parking lot feel, but the amenities were top notch. Our lot was high in front however, and next time we'll know to ask for a more level one as we struggled a bit getting set in our low to the ground TT. We'll return. We camped at Whispering Hills RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Park advertizes wifi. Brochure says wifi. I went to office to ask where wifi worked and lady said nowhere in park. I said they should not advertize wifi if it is unusable. She said in a practiced tone" what we have is what we have". Gravel lots have poor placement of sewer connections because of narrow lots . pull thru lot 222 . Never again here. We camped at Whispering Hills RV Park in a Motorhome.

We were told in advance that we could not get a pull thru and all that was available was a back in. That said we have been to the park as a stop over in the past and we explained at this time as well as before we had a 45 ft bus. The problem is we were placed in a short back in that can barely handle a 40 ft but to add to the problem we could not level with the jacks and the best we could do is with air which because of the site was not level. If you have a 45 ft and they do not have a pull thru keep going. They advertise WIFI but it really does not exist and they say it does not work. We camped at Whispering Hills RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice clean friendly park. But real difficult to find a level lot. Many are already taken by seasonal campers. What is left is short back in lots with close quarters. Cars are parked too close for you to hook up in the morning. Sewer connections are going up hill. We will not stay a second time. We camped at Whispering Hills RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A beautifully-operated RV park near Georgetown. We paid extra for the Premium Site which I would recommend. Looked a little cramped with regular sites on the way in. Very well maintained park. As we were sitting out late afternoon, we could hear lots of gunfire from some firing range nearby and it continued for a while. other than that, it was quiet. Very nice patios on the premium site, but didn't care for the sewer hookups near the picnic tables. Fast check in. The park is a little hard to get to from the freeway, having to go on some small roads and the final road section there is a narrow single lane. We were hoping we wouldn't meet another big rig on it, and didn't. We camped at Whispering Hills RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Georgetown has an historic district. Also nearby bourbon distilleries can be toured. We would avoid the Georgetown Wal mart for parking. We stayed there a previous year on a Friday night and kids were drag racing for half the night. Nobody stopped them and it was horrible. Its worth it to stay in an RV park in this area!!

Rate was for a pull thru site on crushed stone, no grass, no fire ring, very poor WiFi and no cable TV. We did have a picnic table and were near the exit so that was good. The park is convenient to I-75 but the roads getting to it could have been re-paved and widened. The interior roads should be paved. Good place for convenience but would not want to stay for any length of time. People were helpful at check-in and guided us to our site which was nice. We camped at Whispering Hills RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Georgetown Horse Museum is in nearby Georgetown and is nice. Several good bourbon distillers in the area for tours (Woodford and Buffalo Trace among others). University of Kentucky in Lexington is a 22 mile drive with a free arboretum that is nice. Daniel Boone's gravesite is in Frankfort (~22 miles) as is the Capitol. Both were very nice to visit.

We stopped here after getting caught in a three-hour shutdown of I-75. Got a great rate of approx. $36. Park is unusual since most of it is gravel: the roads, the sites, everywhere. There are some upgraded sites with patios, extra large picnic tables, some greenery and two person gliders. Park electric, water, and sewer hook-up were in good condition. Didn't try the wifi since the park was pretty full. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice and in top notch condition. People in the office were very nice and guided us to our site. There were some seasonals near the back, but were in good enough condition that the theme song from "Sanford & Son" didn't immediately start playing in my head. While not a picturesque park, it would be a good base for touring the local area. We camped at Whispering Hills RV Park in a Motorhome.

We were here for a week. Roads are very dusty when dry and messy when wet. Site was a pull through and only long enough for our trailer. Fortunately, there were some parking spaces right across the road in front of our trailer. Wide open site with good utilities. Very narrow road for a half a mile just before you get to the park. There were lots of permanent residents but that is becoming normal all across the country with all the worker bees there for construction jobs. If back throught the area we would stay there again. We camped at Whispering Hills RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy check-in. Escort to site. Easy to get to off I-75. Level site, gravel; small amount of grass between sites. Well Maintained. Sites are very close; almost no parking for vehicle. No Cable, WIFI unreliable. We camped at Whispering Hills RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed in a premium pull-thru site that had a large concrete slab, a table that sat eight, and a glider swing. The park was well maintained and cared for. The check in process was efficient and we were escorted to our site. My only negatives are there were no dog poop stations and the dumpsters were not convenient to where we were staying. We ended up taking our dog poop bags and garbage with us to our next stop. We will be back and stay a few days next time. We stayed one night in a 45 foot motor home towing. We camped at Whispering Hills RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very well maintained park. The interior roads were wide and easy to navigate. For a private campground we were surprised at the size of the campsites. We were escorted to our campsite after check in. Staff extremely friendly, campground very clean. The interior roads were good for getting a little exercise and walking, close to the interstate, without a lot of road noise. You do hear an occasional train as the crossing is just up the road, but it didn't disturb us one bit. We camped at Whispering Hills RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Went to a local micro distillery (Bourbon 30 Spirits) and restaurant (Local Feed) in Georgetown, KY. Both were excellent choices, probably the best bourbon we've ever had as well as the best beef brisket and mac and cheese I'm ever had. Definitely recommend both of these places if you don't feel like cooking in.

Large CG just north of Georgetown, KY. There seemed to be a lot of permanent sites/residents which are very close together. The transient areas which includes backins on the water looked fine. We were in a premium site with our 45' rig. Very nice including an escort. Pull through on level, gravel site with a concrete patio with open space in front. Very easy in and out with space between the sites. Only objection would be that our neighbor's sewer connection is only 3' from our table. Water and electric is quite far back in the site. Wifi awful but AT&T service is strong. Much rain was anticipated and the staff provided us with 4 plywood squares to ensure our jacks didn't sink. (It didn't rain much so not an issue but very nice gesture). There is about a half mile of a fairly narrow road coming into the campground. Two big rigs would not be able to pass each other. Would certainly stay again in this nice area. We camped at Whispering Hills RV Park in a Motorhome.

Almost all roads are gravel and dusty. Sites are very close together and our pull thru was just long enough for out 33' class A and 4 door Jeep. Many tow vehicles were parked partially in the roads. The park was full and you could tell. It was jam packed. Utilities were fine. Escort to site. Good short term stay. We camped at Whispering Hills RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park is almost entirely constructed of gravel with closely spaced sites. Many of the back in sites are very short and only accommodate smaller campers with trucks parallel parked across both sides of the street nearly bumper to bumper. There is even a written warning issued at checkin that you may not leave your vehicle unattended until the sites around you have been filled in case you have to move so someone can get into a site. We were in a standard pull through site that was long enough for our motorhome and car but was quite narrow with an 8' strip of grass between us and the next site's gravel. We were fortunate as some of the pull throughs had no grass at all. Gravel roads, gravel site pads, gravel in between and no trees gave the appearance of a parking lot and not a campground. On the flip side the staff are friendly and accommodating, the hookups were all in order, the campground is clean and the laundry facilities worked well and were reasonably price. There is no cable tv but satellite works well since there are no trees. I was not able to pick up any of the 4 over the air tv channels that were said to be available. While it is possible to connect to the unsecured internet it was so slow I was not even able to test the speed. Verizon signal is strong. Were I to stay here again it would only be in one of the ten premium pull through sites that are adequately spaced. We camped at Whispering Hills RV Park in a Motorhome.

There is much to do in the Georgetown/Lexington area. The Kentucky Horse Park is a must see. Local horseback riding is available. Several distilleries of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail are nearby. Toyota has a plant near the campground and offers tours, but we were not able to go because they were booked about three weeks out. Make an advance reservation if you want to go.
