This is a very large and spacious campground conveniently located by Kentucky Dam Village. Restrooms are average and a little run down, but adequate. Spaces are large and some are shaded. Hookups are very far from the sites but the campground is very relaxed about putting your camper where you need to in order to hook up. If you are a bird watcher, there is great variety here. It's a quiet, peaceful place to relax. We camped at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a older campground that hasn't kept up with changing trends in RVing. Electric and Water hookups were a stretch to get to. We backed up almost to the end of the pad so the electric would connect. Electric held 30 amp service.

Before I go on, we stayed on a holiday weekend and the place was overrun. My guess is that under normal non-holiday times the park is large and roomy.

With the crowd, I have to give the staff a pass on the cleanliness of the bathhouses.

They are still old and in need of refurbishment.

Just driving in and out of the park was challenging with bikes and all golf carts.

Not for us. Won't be back. We camped at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This state park is laid out a bit differently than most. It is stretched out along a county highway with the campground being at the north end. A little tricky just finding the campground.

Nice campground, easy in and out. Large rig friendly we had a 35' bumper pull. The amenities are very dated. For this location and price: well worth it. We spent a week here while visiting my family. I have stayed here twice now and will come back. We camped at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park in a Travel Trailer.

This park has steadily gone downhill for the past several years. It used to be one of Kentucky's premier campgrounds but apparently budget cuts have affected it. Shower houses were dirty most of the time, park was overcrowded (it was a holiday weekend). Sites were roomy and many were level but utilities were a long way from the paved campsite. Lots of mosquitoes due to poor drainage in the campground. Small children drove golf carts and golf carts were operated all hours of the night in dark conditions. Biggest problem was $20 tents were placed in sites beside $200,000 motor homes and many campers were not really "campers," and did not use well known camper etiquette. We won't be back. We camped at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park in a Travel Trailer.

Of the 200+ sites at the campground, there were maybe 40 sites filled over the weekend and 10-15 on the weekdays. Not sure if the time period we stayed during was a lull, but it was nice to have a huge campground to ourselves.

This park seems to be a much older park, because the sites are quite short and the hookups are placed far away towards the rear of sites (back when camper hookups were in the back). We were at site 39, a secluded site at the far end of the campground, but our hookups were on the far Right side of our vehicle. We backed in, and even running the power under the RV we were still short about 10 feet. We had to turn the RV around and drive it to the very edge of our pad, and we just barely got it to reach. There needs to be some sort of footnote stating that hookups are not in normal range.

Had some issues with a weekend camper letting his dog run loose - we put our cat out on a tether when we're outside, I went inside to get something while my husband was grilling, and I came out to my husband standing there with his hands full, a (friendly) dog jumping up on him, and a cat freaking out. Really wish leash laws would be enforced, as the dog was running around for hours. We noticed our fire pit was filled with garbage, beer cans, and worm containers. Seems like a lot of campers have little to no respect for the campground.

When we left the campground, we dumped our tanks at the closest dump station (towards the back). I don't know how the other dumps are, but this one was terrible. After a few gallons, the drain backed up and wouldn't budge. I had to stand there waiting for it to drain, until I finally gave up. Couldn't even flush the grey tank partially. We were there for about 20 minutes just getting less than 10 gallons to drain out. Very disgusting situation. Earlier, I saw other people spending 30-45 minutes while dumping, now I know why. Wouldn't stay at this campground again. Inquired about having a package delivered here, but the main office (where you check in) doesn't get mail delivery, apparently. We camped at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park in a Motorhome.

We thought the campground, resort and marina and were all within the immediate vicinity but they are not. Each is a seperate entity connected by a highway. This is an older park. No septic, cable or Wi-Fi. Most sites are short and many aren't level but there is lots of room and grass for each site. Staff was nice and there were no hassles at all. Overall this is a good park in a good location. Can't beat it for the money. We camped at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park in a Motorhome.

We were here for the 4th of July weekend this year. The way we got to park our camper was wonderful because it was "a pull through" site on the grass and shaded. There was no sewer with made things difficult but we knew this going in. The restrooms/showers were disgusting, holiday weekend or not. Lots of unsupervised kids all around, riding bikes in traffic, and loud people. The park itself did a nice job with daily activities to keep the family and kids entertained. We took a walk along the Kentucky Dam and found out the history about it. Would not stay here again. Spoke to many others who were only camping there because their "normal" campsite was already booked. It served its purpose but too much other stuff marked it down. We camped at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful state park. Nice large flat sites. The campground is not on the lake, but close to it. Lack of many sewer sites brings the rating down. Over the air TV reception was not strong and 3G Verizon data service was S L O W. Nice family setting. We camped at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice large park with open grassy sites with high shade trees. Staff is pleasant. Sites are large and fairly level. TV reception is adequate with antenna. Outdoor laundry. Patrons leave restroom screen doors open and there are some night time bugs. Occasional train and barge horn noise. There is a McDonald's about four miles away for free Wi-Fi. First, getting here is a challenge. Signage is tiny, directional arrows are hard to decipher when not on foot, and the main sign is about 100 yards left of the right turn only exit ramp. We saw it in the mirror and turned around in the golf course parking lot. Once there, we were almost alone on a Sunday. The sites are easy to back into because it is so flat and open. Unfortunately, our site was the only one with a drainage problem, a little "pond" formed, right at the front of the trailer, making hookup an aquatic exercise. Oh well. Friendly folks, and a location near the TVA made it a good place for a day. We camped at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here as an overnight stop on a trip west. This early in the season, there were only a few other campers. The office was closed so we used self-check-in. Sites were paved, level, and large. Rest rooms and showers were clean and well maintained. The campground is convenient to the interstate. We would stay here again. The staff is great and there's loads of things for the kids to do in the Summer. The bath house is not the worst I have seen but not the best either. Nice place to spend a few days. We camped at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park in a Motorhome.

This campground is at a resort park with a nice golf course and a beautiful lodge - all of which are on the water. Although Kentucky Lake is huge, none of the campsites are on the water. This park must have been built when campers were smaller, because a lot of the sites are very small. We made our reseration in December for October, but when we got to the park, someone was in our space. There was no one at the park to oversee anything (typical of KY parks) and we didn't know what to do as the people in our spot were not at the site when we arrived. If our neighbor camper had not had a number to call, we would have been in a mess. We called the Lodge and a fellow came out and was very apologetic, but could not move the camper in our space without them being there. It was very aggravating since we had had our reservation for so long, but in all fairness to the person in our space, the space was not marked in any way as reserved. Fortunately, the person showed up shortly and moved without any trouble, but I don't know what we would have done if they hadn't, since everything was full at the time. In the end, we enjoyed our time at this park, but it really has seen better days. We camped at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park in a Travel Trailer.
