Decent, very large campground. Most sites are decent size, but one thing to be aware of...the website advertises the sites are 55' long. Not sure what they are measuring, but the asphalt on most/all sites is only 45' long. Also, as mentioned, sites are 90 degrees to the road which makes backing a big rig in a bit tough. Low hanging trees near many sites also doesn't help. We had to get on the roof of the RV to trim back some branches. Many sites had muddy areas, mostly on the corners of the road, but with rain it gets pretty mushy. We were in site 27 which was ok, but nice thing was, ours and others in the corner near us shared a huge back yard area. Great for playing disk. We couldn't get satellite reception on our site. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Bourbon trail. We visited, and can highly recommend, Maker's Mark, Willet for small family owned, Buffalo Trace, and Four Roses.

Beautiful park which is adjacent to Kentucky Horse Park- heaven for horse lovers. Large concrete pads. Some sites on outer loop are difficult to level and some sites haves overhanging trees. We used Google Earth to find clear site and chose A63. Inner loops has more families and kids. Good TV reception. No wifi at our site. No sewer but has 2 pump sites and we used a mobile pump out service which comes to the park daily. Would rate higher if park had full hook ups. Will definitely stay here again. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Discount tickets to KY Horse Park from campstore are good for 2 days. Excellent museums, access to barns, meet and greets with horses, breed shows, carriage rides around park. Lexington has gorgeous horse farms and estates. Also enjoyed the Kentucky Bourbon Trail seeing distilleries with free tastings!

This was our third time at Kentucky Horse Park, and they didn't disappoint on this stay either. A couple of things you have to be prepared for however. Many sites are 90 degrees to the narrow roads in the loop and it makes it tough for a big rig to back in to. Another item of note is the water pressure. It is high in this park, so adjust your regulators accordingly. The store is well stocked, so well we really didn't to have to leave the campground for too much. The scenery was spectacular in April with the trees blooming and the grass greening up.

Shower houses were clean.

One other thing to watch for is kids playing in the roads. The inside road especially is difficult to see going around the corner, so follow the posted speed limits. We will definitely return here again. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Clean, attractive and convenient. Close to Lexington. Nice store, friendly staff. Call for check-in info; turned out the office was open later than the website indicated. The park rents the adjacent lawn for special events; there was a Boy Scout Jamboree the weekend we were there, but they weren't disruptive. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Camp store has a decent selection of RV supplies -- and craft beer!

This is a great RV park. The pads are all large and the space between, all grass is wide.

There are a lot of trees that have grown pretty large. They do a good job of trimming, so not in the way when driving through the loop to your site.

Some sites are quite sloped. We talked to the office before coming in and were given sites that were level and open so we could acquire satellite so we had a very desirable (to us) site. We were in site 90.

The internet is good. We received many OTA TV stations.

This campground is part of the Kentucky Horse Park, so if you purchase your tickets to the Horse Park from the Campground office, you get a discount and don't have to pay for parking.

Great place for an overnight or a week or longer. Playgrounds available for kids to use as well as basketball courts. Also there are at least one picnic shelter for family gathering.

No sewer at your site but a couple of large dump stations near the exit.

We have been here once before in our cross country travels and we enjoyed it even more this trip. We stayed four nights and wish we could stay longer. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Horse Park is worth spending a half a day. Many farms give tours, either through a vendor, which is pricey or on your own directly at the farm. Call the farm for reservations. We found a great restaurant in Lexington called Bella Notte. Italian and fabulous. Get reservations. Toyota Camry factory in Georgetown does tours. Get reservations in advance.

We were passing through, so we didn't take advantage of any of the amenities. Someone had parked on the site we reserved, so they told us others that were available. I used our toad to check them out and chose one. A staff member helped get us in the spot. The camp store was well stocked and we bought firewood there to use with the fire ring on the site. No sewer, but dump station was very convenient at the exit. Distance between sites was adequate, area has a lot of trees, but satellite worked fine. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here during the Breeders Cup. The park was at capacity most of the weekend. We didn't have a sewer hookup on our site (249) and when we checked out Sunday morning, we did have to wait in line for the dump station. The park is kept pretty clean. Despite being at capacity, we had no problem getting in and out of the shower house or the camp store. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This park is a tale of 2 cities. If you are over 35 ft long and 12 ft high it is a pain. Trees will hit your AC's and the sites (all are back ins) are at right angles to the road and at 45 ft with a car in front of you they are a pain to get into and you probably will not be able to get sat reception due to trees. All sites that I saw including mine slope from either front to back or back to front so levelling could be a problem and they are not long enough to put your car on the pad so you park in the grass or road. The second problem is you have drive around/behind the general store to check in. If cars are parked they will block you or you will block them. In a 45 ft MH and pulling a car this is a real pain. However if under those lengths and heights and not towing a car it is really nice. The pads are not wide or long but the space between them is huge. If I had a small rig it is an 8 or 9..big rig 6. Probably not go back, it was not worth the hassle. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

We have always enjoyed camping at the Horse Park campground. The sites are spacious, and most are shaded nicely. There is a nice large pool, and kiddie pool. The park has always been clean for the most part, but many of the picnic tables are in terrible shape, and if yours is missing from your campsite, don't bother with asking them to get you a replacement. Our last visit, we couldn't even use our picnic table, and that was no easy feat while trying to feed a 2 year old.

There are two large playgrounds and a basketball court. This is a good thing, but I've noticed that they don't turn the court lights out when they are supposed to at night, and that means a lot of loud bouncing balls when you are ready for quiet...and dark. One time we were there, and the court was open until about 11:30pm. Trying to get the toddler to sleep in our pop up with that right next to us was impossible and stressful! We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Sites well spread, with narrow paved sites, with EW at back side of site. Many trees. Unfortunately most sites are somewhat unlevel front to back, side to side or both because the site paving conforms to the slope of the mildly rolling hill side. I had one of the very few really level sites. Clean and large bath houses x 2. A free shuttle will take you by a back road to the Horse park with its exhibits, horse shows and the vast well done and informative museum of the horses. It is $12 per person for a discounted entry to the horse park itself. $27 senior CG /nite. I downgraded because of the almost all unlevel sites. At the time of making the CG a bulldozer could have easily leveled the sites. A common error in many CGs. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Lots of room. Sites are well spaced. Lots of trees. The park really is a park. Two major loops each with an outer and inner loops. All the usual amenities were there and the store was well stocked. Staff was helpful. A note" check in is in the CG store. There are no markings to that effect and could cause some confusion. The one negative is that the CG has rolling grounds and there was no consideration given to that when they were blacktopping the sites. I'd have gone forr a 9 rating otherwise The result is that none is level. One great feature is the complimentary transportation to and from the Horse Park. I'd stay here again. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

At the Horse Park, sign up for the Horse Farm Tour. It's a little pricey, but well conducted and interesting. The day I took it, it included 1/2 hour at the yearling auction at Keenland Race Track

Tips for other Campers:

Several sites for KY Bourbon Trail, Kentucky Horse Park Museum, Univ. of Ky, Red State Bar-B-Que is close by and very good, visit RebeccaRuth Chocolate Factory and Buffalo Trace Distillary in Frankfurt.

Stayed in the C Loop. Beautiful park and great location right next to the Kentucky Horse Park Museum and Arena. No sewer at the campsites so you have to use the dump station. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Tour the Kentucky Horse Park Museum - it is great! The Museum is great and you can spend all day there. Also a good location to use as a base to explore the area. Take a tour of the Toyota Assembly Plant nearby it is well worth the time.

We stayed for 3 days. The Horse Park is wonderful to visit. If you need a ride to the Horse Park one of the park staff will take you over. OR You can walk over the back way or ride a bike easily. A major horse show was going on so it was exciting to be able to see some of the top riders in the country. Many of the riders stay in the campground so it is nice to meet them and see them compete. The campground is very well laid out. All back in sites. The pool looked good but closed for the winter. The WIFI was acceptable, bathrooms large and clean. Plenty of open space to walk our dogs. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to go to the Horse Park. We liked visiting with some prime examples of champion horses. We got a one on one with Funny Side, a Kentucky Derby winner. He was a grump but fun to see.

We stayed here overnight and it was very nice. There was a huge pool, kiddie pool, tennis court, volleyball and playground. The only thing that we would have like was longer pool hours (it closed at 8) and the ability for my teenagers to go to the pool alone....anyone under 18 has to be accompanied by an adult even though they had lifeguards. All in all it was a beautiful park and would definitely go back. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.
