We stopped here as an overnight spot. We have a 38 foot RV and could not get level in the full hookup spot we were assigned. It was supposed to be one of the more level spots in the campground. The office assisted us and eventually we found a spot in the primitive electric area with 30 amp service. If you have a larger motor home, this is NOT the campground for you. That said, there are lovely fields for walking dogs and it is well located and visually appealing. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

The back-in sites here are excellent but I give it an 8 because wifi was very poor and there is no sewer. Taking showers in their shower room saves on the grey water situation. All sites are level and are conveniently located to the well-stocked store and refreshing swimming pool. Making reservations through Reserve America worked well. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very large, busy, pretty campground with paved roads & site pads that are 30-50 feet apart. The spaces around the site pads are grassy with well-trimmed trees interspersed. All sites have picnic tables and some have fire pits, but the pads are not too level & fairly short. There are 2 bathhouses for 260 sites, so finding them clean was rare. There are a lot of kid areas. The WIFI did not work. We did get many OTA TV stations. They warn you that water pressure is high, so bring a regulator. Book a site on the outer loop and not backed towards the commons area so that no one is walking through your site to the bathhouse. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The office can call a free golf cart shuttle to the Horse Park. You can also order a cart from a local vendor for $70/day to use in the campground & to go to the Park. The office will help you. Reduced Park tickets can be purchased at the office too.

We have stayed at this campground multiple times in the last 16 years. Some times were good, others not so much. Our visit this time was average. For the regular RVer, it's best to stay here when there isn't a horse show going on (check the calendar; avoid weekends). The loop that includes the pool is very busy in the summer. Power is good, wifi is spotty, be sure you have a pressure regulator for the water as it is very high. Campground personnel were more visible this stay than in years past, but many folks still drove much too fast through the campground, including on golf carts. We observed several dogs off-leash and allowed to eliminate in empty sites without the owners cleaning up after them. The park has a 14 day rule, but several campsites looks like long-term residences. Trees really need to be trimmed, so if you have a taller RV select one of the sites close to the main road. There are signs of expansion in what was the primitive area so hopefully longer, more level, better angled sites are in the near future (this park is very tight for anything longer than a 40 ft. motorhome given the trees, 90 degree angle of site to road, and short pads). Not sure what the solution to the irresponsible campers would be. This has been ongoing for years (loose dogs, speeding, etc.) and is much less of an issue during the off-season and when there's not a show going on in the horse park. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Very large, but well laid out campground with large sites. Staff were very pleasant to work with. Went to the horse park each day we were there and were given rides via golf cart. Return trips were easily arranged also. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Decent, very large campground. Most sites are decent size, but one thing to be aware of...the website advertises the sites are 55' long. Not sure what they are measuring, but the asphalt on most/all sites is only 45' long. Also, as mentioned, sites are 90 degrees to the road which makes backing a big rig in a bit tough. Low hanging trees near many sites also doesn't help. We had to get on the roof of the RV to trim back some branches. Many sites had muddy areas, mostly on the corners of the road, but with rain it gets pretty mushy. We were in site 27 which was ok, but nice thing was, ours and others in the corner near us shared a huge back yard area. Great for playing disk. We couldn't get satellite reception on our site. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Beautiful park which is adjacent to Kentucky Horse Park- heaven for horse lovers. Large concrete pads. Some sites on outer loop are difficult to level and some sites haves overhanging trees. We used Google Earth to find clear site and chose A63. Inner loops has more families and kids. Good TV reception. No wifi at our site. No sewer but has 2 pump sites and we used a mobile pump out service which comes to the park daily. Would rate higher if park had full hook ups. Will definitely stay here again. Sites are narrow; all back-in. We had a site on an outer loop and with our dinette in the back of the trailer we had a beautiful view of an open field. If you like horses, this is the place to be. WiFi OK, Verizon good. Full on the weekend, quiet during the week. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This was our third time at Kentucky Horse Park, and they didn't disappoint on this stay either. A couple of things you have to be prepared for however. Many sites are 90 degrees to the narrow roads in the loop and it makes it tough for a big rig to back in to. Another item of note is the water pressure. It is high in this park, so adjust your regulators accordingly. The store is well stocked, so well we really didn't to have to leave the campground for too much. The scenery was spectacular in April with the trees blooming and the grass greening up.

Shower houses were clean.

One other thing to watch for is kids playing in the roads. The inside road especially is difficult to see going around the corner, so follow the posted speed limits. We will definitely return here again. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Clean, attractive and convenient. Close to Lexington. Nice store, friendly staff. Call for check-in info; turned out the office was open later than the website indicated. The park rents the adjacent lawn for special events; there was a Boy Scout Jamboree the weekend we were there, but they weren't disruptive. This is a great RV park. The pads are all large and the space between, all grass is wide.

There are a lot of trees that have grown pretty large. They do a good job of trimming, so not in the way when driving through the loop to your site.

Some sites are quite sloped. We talked to the office before coming in and were given sites that were level and open so we could acquire satellite so we had a very desirable (to us) site. We were in site 90.

The internet is good. We received many OTA TV stations.

This campground is part of the Kentucky Horse Park, so if you purchase your tickets to the Horse Park from the Campground office, you get a discount and don't have to pay for parking.

Great place for an overnight or a week or longer. Playgrounds available for kids to use as well as basketball courts. Also there are at least one picnic shelter for family gathering.

No sewer at your site but a couple of large dump stations near the exit.

We have been here once before in our cross country travels and we enjoyed it even more this trip. We stayed four nights and wish we could stay longer. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Horse Park is worth spending a half a day. Many farms give tours, either through a vendor, which is pricey or on your own directly at the farm. Call the farm for reservations. We found a great restaurant in Lexington called Bella Notte. Italian and fabulous. Get reservations. Toyota Camry factory in Georgetown does tours. Get reservations in advance.

We were passing through, so we didn't take advantage of any of the amenities. Someone had parked on the site we reserved, so they told us others that were available. I used our toad to check them out and chose one. A staff member helped get us in the spot. The camp store was well stocked and we bought firewood there to use with the fire ring on the site. No sewer, but dump station was very convenient at the exit. Distance between sites was adequate, area has a lot of trees, but satellite worked fine. We stayed here during the Breeders Cup. The park was at capacity most of the weekend. We didn't have a sewer hookup on our site (249) and when we checked out Sunday morning, we did have to wait in line for the dump station. The park is kept pretty clean. Despite being at capacity, we had no problem getting in and out of the shower house or the camp store. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This park is a tale of 2 cities. If you are over 35 ft long and 12 ft high it is a pain. Trees will hit your AC's and the sites (all are back ins) are at right angles to the road and at 45 ft with a car in front of you they are a pain to get into and you probably will not be able to get sat reception due to trees. All sites that I saw including mine slope from either front to back or back to front so levelling could be a problem and they are not long enough to put your car on the pad so you park in the grass or road. The second problem is you have drive around/behind the general store to check in. If cars are parked they will block you or you will block them. In a 45 ft MH and pulling a car this is a real pain. However if under those lengths and heights and not towing a car it is really nice. The pads are not wide or long but the space between them is huge. If I had a small rig it is an 8 or 9..big rig 6. Probably not go back, it was not worth the hassle. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

We have always enjoyed camping at the Horse Park campground. The sites are spacious, and most are shaded nicely. There is a nice large pool, and kiddie pool. The park has always been clean for the most part, but many of the picnic tables are in terrible shape, and if yours is missing from your campsite, don't bother with asking them to get you a replacement. Our last visit, we couldn't even use our picnic table, and that was no easy feat while trying to feed a 2 year old.

There are two large playgrounds and a basketball court. This is a good thing, but I've noticed that they don't turn the court lights out when they are supposed to at night, and that means a lot of loud bouncing balls when you are ready for quiet...and dark. One time we were there, and the court was open until about 11:30pm. Trying to get the toddler to sleep in our pop up with that right next to us was impossible and stressful! We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Tent Trailer.
