The park is very wide open and lots of green grass. The sites are not level but there is lots of space between sites. Quiet and a country feel. We asked for a site with fewer trees so we could easily connect to our satellite. There was no useable WiFi at our site. It is tight to get our 45 foot RV on the site and our car as well. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

We rate this park as okay. Narrow paved pads just wide enough for the MH. Tight backing in with vehicles parked along the road. Our first site was 13" low in the front. Changed to another site that was 6" low in the rear. Pressure reducer needed for water. Elec. 50 amp was good. No sewer. Not a bad campground just tighter then we like and will look elsewhere in the future. Staff was helpful and friendly. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

We were just there for an overnight stop. Called ahead for same day arrival and the staff was very helpful. Explained we'd be a late arrival. They said to pick a spot not reserved/held and stop by in the morning. We did and admired their camp store. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Right next door to The Kentucky Horse Park. Very convenient to I-75 a mike away. Gorgeous grounds well maintained and spotless. I would definitely stay here again.

Wide sites but close together. Need reservations probably unless primitive camping. Very easy on off I75. The Horse park has lots of activities so that is why always crowded. We were there during Horse show, Keeneland race track live and UK college football. Nice playground for kids and game room. Lots of horse trailers but horses stay in stalls at Horse park. Friendly family campers. Our site needed few leveling blocks. Tight back in fornour neighbor who had a long trailer. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This campground is a good location for all the attractions around Lexington. The only major weakness of this park is the lack of sewer but with care on water usage, we stayed 6 nights. Good OTA tv as no cable. The cell service at our site was poor. Sprint had one LTE. Other sites might be different. Wifi was poor. We also found the angle of the spaces to be hard to back into as they are not at the correct angle. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Lexington in October is great. There are discounted tickets ($16 instead of $20) to the Kentucky Horse Park and free parking for people that stay in the campground. We went to Keeneland for a horse race which was great and classy. We took the Unique Farm Horse tour which besides showing a horse farm with expensive thoroughbreds, visited a tobacco farm, and the Fasig-Tipton horse auction. Also the Toyota Factory Tour was amazing. (make reservations early for this free tour).

Nice park. Just staying overnight so not exploring nearby areas. My site was not quite level and had to use boards to keep front wheels from coming off the ground. Easy access from interstate highway. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This campground is nice, the roads are paved and the sites are pretty widely spaced. Our site was very level, did not need any blocks at all. The grass is a little thin on the shady sites and some had straw to cover the dirt/mud. We did not use the fire ring but it was very unlevel so cooking may have been difficult. Okay for a campfire though. We did not use the bathhouse but I checked it out: clean and huge, with a separate private little space for dressing outside the shower stall. There are 4 dump stations and leaving on a Sunday morning we had to wait only about two minutes. Even the dump station area was clean.

It was very quiet during the week and naturally a bit more noisy on the weekend (which is $2/nite more) but everyone was respectful of the 11:00 quiet time rule. We were with a group and had the pavilion for the whole time, so you might want to avoid the sites that border the pavilion: you will have people cutting through and a crowd right outside. We were all together so it was okay for us. They could have used a few more trash cans around, we had to walk to the bathhouse to dispose of our dog poop. But there was no litter around, the whole park was very clean. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

You can't beat the ambiance of being right next to one of the most unique destinations in America, the Kentucky Horse Park. Like many state owned RV parks, this park had no sewer and that only became an issue when it was very crowded on the weekend. Everyone uses the public bathroom and you have to take a ticket to use a stall. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed one week. Almost full on weekend and less than half full during the week. Wifi actually worked pretty well during the week but not so much so on the weekend. Our site was level but a lot of them have quite a bit of slope. Asphalt streets and pads but no patio area. Plenty of grass which was great for dog walking. Lots of OTA TV channels and our satellite worked fine but many sites would have trees in the way. Strong Verizon signal. People walked through our campsite constantly to get from the bath house to the outer loop and primitive sites, which drove our dogs nuts. We would choose another site if we returned because of that but make sure it's level. Water pressure is high-use a regulator. Nice campground and friendly staff. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We enjoyed a couple hours touring at the Horse Park. Also, many distilleries on the Bourbon Trail and breweries on the Brewgrass Trail. Get the free Passport books and have them stamped. Alltech Brewing and Distilling (Town Branch) was our favorite for both the tour and their products. Wish I had realized before our last day that there is a Toyota plant with tours just north of here.

Located just outside Lexington, KY. The park has beautiful grounds. Be sure and go over to the museum and track that is a part of the park but a little distance away from the campground. Paved roads and sites. 50 amp but no sewer, but a dump station. Sites not completely level but leveling jacks handled it OK. Bathrooms and showers are old but cleaned every day and in good condition. Definitely recommended if in the area. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here once before about 6 years ago and just loved the place. We wanted to revisit based on that. A bonus this time is a new paved bike trail at entrance - Legacy trail. Nice ride! We were in site A22. Not the best site. On an incline and the grass near pad was dead (from previous camper carpet) with straw on it. It seemed they were covering any dead patches with straw as we saw them driving around doing this while there. Not how we remembered it. Our picnic table worked but so aged. Our fire pit was mostly heaved out of the ground as we noticed many were. Seriously looked unusable in the state it was in. I noticed many sites near entrance with newer tables and overall better looking sites. The pool area is really nice - big and deep. Nice bath and shower building attached. Campstore quite nice with lots available. A big bonus is access to the horse park. We rode bike around and it seems you could ride for quite a long time (or walk). We were able to participate in the Monday night walking club that meet there and they also have music and some food if you are interested. Overall, we said we didn't have our rose-tinted glasses on this time and it wasn't as phenomenal as we recalled. Still nice enough, good utilities and convenient to lots in the Lexington area but not stellar. Use online map and photos to pick site. I'd go for those near A1 or C131, but many with youngsters may want a site in inner loop near pool. Good biking near here! We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Nice enough place to stay for an overnight or 2. Back in asphalt and grass sites . Electric (30/50) and water only. There are 2 large dump stations but this is a busy place. Discounts to Horse Park if you stay here. Sites are not close to level. You need blocks. Store and all amenities including pool and tennis courts. Would stay again. This is a very beautiful park with a large beautiful pool. It is on the grounds of the Horse Park Museums and demonstrations. The sites are spaced very generously with lots of grass between them. As advertised, there is no sewer. Not advertised is the impossibly tilted sites. Everyone had a couple of tires off the ground. We camped in site 48, and an earlier review stated it had sewer. That was an error, it does not and is terribly unlevel. No sites have sewer. The dumpsters are very far from most sites. If you can deal with the lack of sewer and impossibility of leveling, it is a great park with lots to do nearby. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

A very large, well laid out, pretty park next to the Kentucky Horse Park, just north of Lexington. Only water and electric available with no Wi-Fi. However, there is a nice pool and playground for the kids. Our site was ok but noticed on a walk around that many sites were sloped, some with severe slopes. Saw several RV's with wheels off the ground. We couldn't get satellite because of trees but there were many over the air stations available. Verizon had a strong signal. All sites appeared to be back-ins. Price listed is senior rate with transaction fee averaged into cost. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

While a good distance from the park and hard to reach with narrow twisting roads with one section one way traffic because of construction, the Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill is an interesting side trip with look back at an earlier time and religion. Take the tow car not the RV.

We had a nice level site, on the outer loop toward the incoming road. We enjoyed the campground store, which was clean and well stocked with essentials and souvenir and gift items. The only glitch was the main electrical distribution box lost a fuse on one leg of the feeders, which in turn killed the power to our, and several other sites. The maintenance folks on site diagnosed the problem, replaced the fuse, and had eneryone back up within an hour. We loved the horse park and museum too. We camped with friends, and they secured tickets to the stud farm that holds triple crown winner American Pharoah. So, we toured that facility and got to see many champion horses. It was a great long weekend, and a very nice facility. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
