So, if you're booking on the Reserve America site, know this: the map that's there isn't CLOSE to being an accurate representation of the park. As such, I booked a site I never would have booked, had I known how things really are. Most of the electric sites are set up on the 'wagon-wheel' format, but the "hubs" of the wheel are pretty tight. I couldn't even get my 30' TT around one without dropping off the road, and even shorter TTs won't stay on the asphalt either. There are also some really close driveways (ours touched the neighbors, at the road), and a couple >90-degree turns. Our site, B18, had a beautiful view of the rusted chain link fence which separates the campground from the neighbor's property, which featured a burn pile with old tires on it. Thankfully, he didn't burn anything while we were there. However, there are some nice sites at the park. Most of the best of them are in the primitive camp area. That's right, the really long, scenic view-of-the-lake sites are non-electric. Seems kind of backward, but that's how it is. Oh, and the dump station?? It's on a hill, and you'll never make it to the correct side of the dump station if you're pulling a larger trailer, the turn is really sharp, too. The beach is nice, and on the other side of the highway, but it's also a local favorite (cause it's free), so there were some, uh..., ne'er do wells that visited, that sort of ruined the enjoyment. If we would ever consider going back (and that's a 'probably not'), we'd book a site in the "d" section, in the 40s lot numbers. We camped at North Fork Park - Rough River Lake in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There's a Dollar General, a hardware store, a liquor store and a convenience store, just up the road. OTA TV is pretty poor (some nights 4 channels, some nights 7, depending on weather). Campground does have free wifi, which was serviceable.

We had a wonderful time camping here. Our site was in the very back of the campground. Very quiet. More than enough room for 2 tents and 5 people. Restrooms were clean and nearby. Attendants were very friendly and helpful. The only complaint was we had to drive to the swimming beach. Could walk but I have health problems. We camped at North Fork Park - Rough River Lake in a Tent.

Very nice COE campground. RV sites are not on the river. A lot of trees. Good access for big rigs. They told us it fills up on weekends but we came in during the week and they had plenty open sites. Very nice and peaceful. We camped at North Fork Park - Rough River Lake in a Fifth Wheel.

North Fork Park on Rough River Lake is clean, quiet, and well maintained. This is primarily a boaters' campground. Sites have a paved pad and gravel skirt, and are double-wide to accommodate a camper and boat. The main campground has a boat launch ramp, 4 electric-service loops, 4 non-electric loops, 3 bathhouses, 2 playgrounds, and CG host on site. Electric Loops C, D, E are tightly spaced, especially since most campers also have a boat parked on site. Electric Loop F is more spacious. Areas A & B are across the road and have direct lake access – this section is non-electric, very shady, has another bathhouse & host, playground, and swimming areas. We stayed in the main campground and walked the short distance to Area A to swim in the lake. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of this CG. Each site had a new-looking coated metal picnic table, food pole, utility table (for cutting fish), and fire pit. The park was well patrolled by the CG host, US Army Corps of Engineers (who manage the property), and local sheriff dept. Campers seemed affluent – big rigs & boats, friendly & tidy. The park was very quiet at night – not the usual crowd of drunken riffraff we have encountered in other state parks. We loved that the campground has no street lights – you can actually see the stars at night! Overall, this was a wonderful weekend spot. We camped at North Fork Park - Rough River Lake in a Motorhome.
