This is a very small loop campground. Our site was fairly level but the electric and water were very far from the site we stayed on 39. Have to have an extension to reach the electric. We arrived on a Saturday during the battle reenactment and had nonstop kids and adults cutting through our site, which is annoying but there was really wasn't any other way for them to get to the playground except cutting through sites. The lodge was not far by car but the hills it was very hard to get to by bike. Some people had golf carts which would have been really nice here. They had mini golf, a pool and a few hiking trails. We are not big into plants but they have a very rare plant called the short's goldenrod that only grows here and very few places in Indiana and it was very easy to spot. Overall it's an okay place for a short trip but I could not spend more than two nights here and we went with more than usual going on with the reenactment. The staff here is very friendly. - Homesweethome

We stayed in site 38. It had water and electric hookups. We had to use extensions to reach both. The site pad is blacktop, and the rest is a mix of grass, dirt, and small gravel. The site backed up to the playground, basketball court, and bath house. We chose it specifically because of its proximity to the playground. This made it easy for me to watch the kids play from the camper. The play area is very nice. Site 38 had trees nearby, however with the way the sun set, we had very little shade. I would recommend site 36. It was very shady. The campground was VERY full and busy. There were SEVERAL children running/biking/hover boarding around the loop. We most likely will not camp here again, just because it was so crowded. The picnic table was wood, and it rough shape. We sat on towels to prevent splinters. - JustinandJulie

Upon arrival, no one was in the check-in booth, but we were able to find our site and set up without a problem. This is a small state park, but it was well maintained, family friendly, and clean. Sites are all paved, but range from level to severely off grade. We have a bigger RV, 37ft, and didn't have any issues maneuvering through the park. The campsite is a giant loop with the bath house, playground, and basketball court in the center. There is a pool in the park that was a short 10 minute walk from our site. We got great cell, Verizon, and 4G service. We picked up a fair number of local TV channels as well. As a family that likes to hike, we thought the trails left something to be desired. They were well maintained, but short and choppy. We didn't use the bath house, but did scope it out and it appeared dated, but in clean working order. There are tons of scheduled events and activities on Fridays and Saturdays we enjoyed as a family. We only saw a park ranger once during our stay, but never had an issue with noise or rude neighbors. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming! We will be back soon! - WeisnerFamily4

A great stay when there for a race or open practice. Way cheaper than a hotel and much safer for your riding gear. Nice and quiet when there's no racing and great for a quick getaway. Having sewer and water is a great bonus. Open areas for kids to play and the staff is super nice. Geared more to racers so there's not the normal campground stuff. - ohbuffalo

Very friendly helpfully manager. CG on three levels paralleling the Ohio River, the upper two with close long stay trailers on either side of paved road. One small toilet and sink men and women building with no shower. River side gravel road with grass sites either side with water and electricity, well mowed. Great view of River. River sites mostly for transient campers. Frequent barges. Long trains across River but not noise annoying. One pavilion. I did not see a play ground. OK for an overnight. - 210jem
Sep 2016 - $20.00
My wife and I spent a weekend there celebrating our wedding anniversery. Although we did not use any of the facilitities other than electricity the park was very clean. The best part for us was watching and listening to the traffic on the Ohio River and exploring the small towns along the River. - TD75

Family-oriented park alongside Ohio River. Nice clean level site and easy access to utilities with sewer in the rear. Some sites had very long sewer connects. Lots of annual sites and great patios and decks. Family fun. Owner very helpful in finding me a site on the holiday weekend. I would return again. Everyone was very nice and friendly there. - RamblynRose

This is a lovely park but getting to it is stressful at best. I would have given this park an 8 or 9 except for the road getting to it. The road is somewhat skinny with no shoulders and anywhere from a few inches to a foot or more of drop off on the edge. There are overhanging trees almost the entire way up 159 that are worrisome. Once in the park you realize right away that it was designed by a non-RV person. The layout is not conducive to backing in to sites. All that being said we had a lovely spot (150' back up with a double dog-leg) that was wooded and private. The sites that we saw (and ours) are NOT level. Bring lots of leveling blocks. The bath-house I used was not dirty, but not clean. Spider webs on the outside and needs some work. I know it sounds all negative, but it really is a nice place. Just keep all this things in mind if you go there. Very weak Verizon cell service, no cable but good OTA TV, no WiFi. Good water. - jomark
Jul 2014 - $24.00
We stayed here over 4th of July weekend and was a little disappointed on our campsite. It was shaded, but sites in our area were right on top of each other. Sites towards front of campground were spaced apart more as were sites located by tent camping area. However you have to be cautious on sites because a lot were uneven and smaller. We had a 21' and was tight getting into our site. It was packed of course, but was surprised to see how quiet it was. That was nice to have. As for things to do it was good. There was 2 trails to hike, but only 2.25 total. The swimming pool was nice and the smaller but nice lake had boats for rental also. There was plenty of family activities to do i.e. volleyball, miniature golf, basketball, tennis, hiking, paddle boat rental, swimming, and hiking to name some. We liked it overall and would stay again, just in a different site. - kycamper02
Jul 2011 - $20.00
Very beautiful and clean pool. However, the sites are very crowded. We camped right beside the playground: MISTAKE!!! It was not too bad mid-week but on Friday night & Saturday everything was packed, bathrooms, etc., kids for days. Does not appear to be restrictions on the number of people camping at a site. We enjoyed our stay, but will not go back. - johnjoseph
