Overall Rating:

This is an adequate rv park. It is a 1000 Trails park and I accessed it with P.A. This park was the probably the flower of 1970 parks. But in the last 40+ years it has become a bit wilted. Roads: Are gravel and in good shape and easy to get around on. In fact they were applying new gravel while we were there. Sites are gravel with a very tired picnic tables and a fire ring. The sites are pretty close together but not awning to awning. Level sites are there but they are few and and some are rather extremely out of level. We were in site 401 and it was fine. I saw many rv's with one set of wheels off the ground and lots of blocking used to get level. The showers are about the size you find in an average rv. They are very clean and well maintained with good pressure and hot water. This park is convenient to the multitude of caves in the area and is a 30-40 min. drive to Bowling Green in Interstate. They have Wifi at a cost and we didn't try it. Verizon phone and Mifi worked fine. The host and check in folks were all very helpful and friendly. They not only led me to my site they had me jump in the golf cart and ran around the park so I could pick one that I liked. Grocery stores and supplies are about 15-20 mins away. As I said this is an aging park that has been pretty well maintained. If we came back to the area we'd stay here again as long as we got a good discount. We camped at Diamond Caverns RV Resort and Golf in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to all the caves. Note that Mammoth Cave is a National Park for a reason. I would suggest that money invested in the various different tours they have of the Mammoth Park Caves is better spent than going to the other private caves in the area. The Corvette Museum in Bowling Green is interesting and if they have the plant open for tours it would probably be pretty interesting. It was closed for retooling when we were here.

Overall Rating:

We stayed in the off-season so most of the amenities were closed. The campground was very clean and had a few long-term residents but plenty of available sites. It was easy to manage our 32' travel trailer on the property and in a pull-through site. The staff seemed very friendly, and patrolled regularly. Our children had a great time playing on the playground equipment which in a sand bed. This was fortunate given the amount of rain we had but the playground drained quickly. Wifi is available from an outside vendor and we received 6 over-the-air channels (no cable available). We have Verizon cell service and which was very good. The campground is about 7 miles from Mammoth Cave. We camped at Diamond Caverns RV Resort and Golf in a Travel Trailer.

Bowling Green is the closest large town (about 30 minutes drive) with several options for food, shopping. Glasgow (about 15 minutes drive) is a little smaller but has a Walmart. Kentucky Down Under is nearby and offers a fun afternoon and chance to pet kangaroos and tour a small on-site cave.

This was just an overnight stop while traveling on I-65 so we did not get to see all the caves and etc that the area has to offer. The setting is very nice and the campground is in a hilly area. This place is 'big rig friendly" - sort of. The roadways are tight and the lot spacing and driveways are close. Do not attempt to drive thru here with the towed vehicle still attached. Seemed pricey given that there is no OTA TV available, no cable and only spotty WiFi. We camped at Diamond Caverns RV Resort and Golf in a Motorhome.

The park is staffed by very nice people but the sites are very close together. A motorhome parked next to us and I can reach out my window and practically touch their awning. Personally I would appreciate larger sites. We camped at Diamond Caverns RV Resort and Golf in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed during Memorial Day weekend. There were numerous activities planned for adults and kids. Live band on Saturday night & a memorial service on Monday to honor our service men & women. Park staff was very friendly and we had our choice of sites which we were escorted to, to make sure we chose one that would work. The pool, playground, common areas are clean and well maintained. We camped at Diamond Caverns RV Resort and Golf in a Fifth Wheel.

Located adjacent to Mammoth Cave National Park. Diamond Caverns just outside the park. National Corvette Museum 10 miles south, GM Corvette Assembly Plant adjacent to museum also offers tours during winter months. Kentucky Bourbon trail & numerous distillaries, wineries & breweries within 1 - 1 1/2 hours north.

This is one of those parks that greatly varies in site quality and privacy. We got very lucky and got into site 602 which is on the top of a hill on the southwest side of the property. There are a couple of permanent residences nearby but your patio side looks out onto nothing but mountains and trees. Nobody nearby made a bit of noise the two weeks we were there. It was like our own little home for a while and made this stay bearable. If you are staying more than a night it is worth it to drive around and see what's open. This site 602 was quite unlevel side to side but not a problem. That being said, most of the other sites here are just standard spacing with a few pull-throughs and back-ins. Many sites seemed very unlevel. The park itself just looks tired. You drive in past the most ridiculous looking decrepit mini-golf and it doesn't get better. The pool (granted not quite pool season in KY) was half full of thick green water. The buildings look like they are never used. You can tell there are a few permanent residents here that try their best, but this park really needs an investment injection to compete in today's market. The fact they charge a $4/day resort fee is laughable. Add that to the standard rate of $45 per day and it just doesn't compute. We did get a passport America discount for 5 days and a weekly rate that was slightly less. But the resort fee is fixed. There is huge potential here since this is actually located within the Mammoth Cave national park, I hope they improve. Water pressure on the hill was poor. Water pump required for showers. The staff were all very nice and helpful. Very easy access for any size rig. We camped at Diamond Caverns RV Resort and Golf in a Motorhome.

We loved our site very long enough for our 39 foot coach and car. The park did have quite a few kids but it was quiet by 11pm. The park ranger was very accommodating; she gave us jacks to put under our motorhome and a step. Drove us around to help us find a spot. The pool was closed for the winter. Free wifi in the clubhouse and gym. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Diamond Caverns RV Resort and Golf in a Motorhome.

Nice large TT Encore RV campground with gravel roads and sites with table and grass. Most sites have trees and most are back in with FHU. Good for big rigs. Unsecured and slow wi-fi only at pavilion, ok cell signal and 4G, no cable tv, many sites open for sat tv. Nice large grass areas. Pool, playground, mini golf, large pavilion. Park older but maintained and staff friendly and helpful. We will return. We camped at Diamond Caverns RV Resort and Golf in a Fifth Wheel.

If you are looking for a park to visit while checking out mammoth caves then stay here. The park is decent but old, however, the staff are SUPER friendly and helpful. When we stayed it was rather hot so the park power source was straining to keep up with the AC units going full tilt in all the rigs on the property. This is a nice park. Everything is dated. The "fitness" room and the TV room are old as well as the rooms that accommodate them. They had activities for adults and kids and a very nice pool. The mini golf course needs a major overhaul but it was fun to play. We would stay here again. We camped at Diamond Caverns RV Resort and Golf in a Motorhome.

Mammoth Caves are 7 miles away. Must see. If you want pizza delivered you better bring it with you. In fact do your shopping before you arrive. The closest real town is about 10 miles away - super Walmart, movie theater, etc. ATT cell service is spotty.

This is a very quiet park with lots of hills and paths to walk. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We were in the A row which backs up to the trees. Some sites are long enough for a very long rig, even our 40' fifth wheel and truck parked in line. Good but pricey WiFi at the sites. Good Verizon service. The grounds are beautifully kept. Spent 1 week here on our way north for summer. Lovely area in Mammoth Cave Park. Golf course is pretty good and extremely affordable. Staff in campground was extremely friendly and helpful. Not much in area for restaurants unless you're looking for chain or fast food. Grocery store about 25 miles away. Lots of hiking and cave tours both at Diamond Caverns and Mammoth Caves. Lots of small towns to explore. There is a Amish community presence here. We will definitely be back. We camped at Diamond Caverns RV Resort and Golf in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is just off I-65, 7 miles from Mammoth Cave NP. I got wifi at my site, was very good. The bathhouse was clean, but the shower heads weren't good, in my opinion. It was a good place to stay to see the NP and the Diamond Caverns. I would stay here again. We camped at Diamond Caverns RV Resort and Golf in a Motorhome.

The rate I listed includes a $4 a day "resort fee". This park covers a large area. It is a typical Thousand Trails park in that the roads are bad (blacktop patched with gravel) with lots of potholes. Wifi is only available in the Pavilion, however we were able to get a fairly good signal in the rig in Row A. The sites are narrow, but very long. We sat at our firepit at the back of the rig which bordered on a natural area. The workers were very pleasant. Satisfactory all around.
