She is not usually open in the winter, but she had business so she stayed open. We stopped for one night. Off the interstate which was nice but not too far. Very friendly checking in. Sites are being upgraded with asphalt and wooden decks but narrow. The overnight temps were below freezing so we only plugged in electric. Did not use showers & restrooms and pool was closed for the season. It was a great stop for one night, and even though we were disappointed she did not have a winter rate nor did she offer any discounts (because we were there a short time and used little services), we would still stop again. We camped at Outpost Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a quick, single night stopover for us. The staff was friendly and quick with our check-in. The pull-through site we used was extremely long and had recently been black-topped. Interior roads are on the narrow side so swinging into and out of sites requires tracking through some grass. The only problem was that they'd just black-topped part of the front parking area, and when we pulled out to leave the next morning the normal exit route was blocked. We'd not been warned about this and ended up having to do a tight turn-around and go out the entrance. A heads-up at check-in would have been welcomed. We camped at Outpost Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Very nice folks at the front desk, great campground for our needs. It's a little off the Interstate, but we viewed that as a huge plus - no road noise! We got a very nice paved spot with a patio deck, super nice, with full hookups. Bath and showers very recently painted and updated. They have a nice ping pong table under a lanai, out of the sun and/or rain, should you wish to play. They have a nice pool, though it was closed for the season at this time (mid-September!). There are some longer term folks here as well who work in the area, but all is clean. The park is spic and span, no junk at all - and the RVs here all look good. We saw a few cats and kittens running around the park, but not enough to be of any concern. We viewed them as an active pest-prevention measure, and had no issue with the kitties when we took our dog out for walks in the RV park. So, this is a nice RV park with great spots for overnighters like us! We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Outpost Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lovely little place. Only a couple miles off Route 64. Extremely friendly staff. Decent size site with fire pit!! Well maintained grounds-pool was being redone beautifully! Plenty of stuff for kids and adults to do. Stayed one night and it was VERY quiet. Would definitely revisit to stay longer. Only VERY MINOR complaint no WiFi. We camped at Outpost Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Found ths site off the freeway, quiet and quite "countryfied". Good ol' boys greeted us and gave us a serviced site, more than adequate for passer thrus. We were quite taken by the layed back ruralness of the whole setting..if you want palmsprings stuff ,stay there ...this place was just what the weary traveler needs. From B.C. Canada thru to N Carolina. We camped at Outpost Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

If you read through the other reviews and find the median that's where I am. It had rained a couple days prior to my arrival and during. I ended up positioning the RV with my left to wheels in the grass/mud so I could step onto the paved parking pad which was the exact same width as the RV. Otherwise I would have stepped into a mud puddle. Cash or check only due upon check in. Old men were running the place are friendly and helpful. Water and electric were centered fore/aft which worked out well. Sewage was near front of coach so I stored and dumped before I left. I didn't see any trash. Fire pits clean. I didn't see any cats. One dog belong to a long term resident barked a little. I could hear a mule occasionally bay but only when outside. There are some older campers and even some with roofs built over them. But I didn't find them bothersome. I came here to fish Cave Run Lake and was only at the RV from 9p - 7a. I would stay here again due to easy access. I did find one of my basement doors open after returning one evening. I inspected all other doors and there wasn't anything missing. Pull through sites are long. I had 36' MH, 17' of boat and a SUV in mine. We camped at Outpost Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

I was here to fish but did notice there isn't much shopping nearby. There are a couple Dollar General stores, convenience stores and bait shops.

Cats lots of them, loose dogs, kids and junk everywhere. The only thing good was the length of the site. Wanted a nice place out in the country not a junk yard. Fire pit had cans and trash in it. We camped at Outpost Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is the best example of a poor RV park for travelers. In our 46 states and 2 provinces we've only been to one park worse than this one. Muddy, gravel roads (paved RV pad however); poor location of water and sewer hook ups; trash in the firepit; howly left-alone dogs; many run down permanent dwellings which once rolled on wheels; and more old classics stored in the field beyond. A sad excuse for $30 Full hookup. Not coming back, ever. We camped at Outpost Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

It was a nice park, but nothing really to shout about. Everyone was friendly and all the amenities worked. Our pull-through was located close to the playground and our kids enjoyed that very much. I would recommend it to others and would stay there if we were ever in the area again. We camped at Outpost Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

I gave this a higher rating due to how friendly everyone was and how quiet it was overall. There are a lot of permanent sites, and a lot of campers there for long-term but not permanent. The negatives of the campground are: the sites are grass and dirt, and minimal gravel. It rained all week when we were there, and it was muddy right outside our RV door which went through our outdoor carpet. The Wi-Fi was spotty at best. The pool had no chairs and was small. Have to pay for everything in cash or check. The positives of the campground are that it was quiet, people were friendly, and it had a laundry room. The antenna and satellite connected with no problems. It says that there are shade sites, but they are only really for tent camping. I wouldn't stay here again unless it was my last resort. There are many other campgrounds closer to the national parks, hiking, zip lining, etc. We camped at Outpost Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

DO NOT use your GPS to get here. It will take you the wrong way. Yes, there are a lot of permanent residents, kids and dogs but we weren't bothered by them. Long pull through sites. TV worked on the antenna. Wi-Fi was good. We camped at Outpost Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wi-Fi worked well for us and the price was right. However we got to hear people yelling for Kevin after 10 pm. No Kevin wasn't lost, they just felt yelling for him was easier than going to see him. The showers and bathroom is adequate, but not kept up well. Watch for GPS directions. We ended up stuck without a good turnaround. Luckily the people were nice to help us and gave us better directions. We camped at Outpost Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This park is quiet, away from the freeway and just fine a for a night or two. As stated in other reviews; there are many permanent residents here, including a few pets, but we had no issues. Utilities were adequate and we had a pull-through long enough for our 40-ft MH and 15-ft trailer. Inside roads are all dirt and gravel and there is a tight turn with large pot holes at the entrance. We elected to turn-around at the church a few blocks down the road and enter from the other direction. They have a small General Store located in the park that is quite nice, rustic, and has a good inventory of items. We would stay here again. We camped at Outpost Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lot's of full time people live here..Some dogs running around with no owners. No Wi-Fi at site, but up by office worked good up there. No cable TV. But for 23 dollars it was OK. If you need a place for the night. We camped at Outpost Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice and friendly park, a lot of permanent set ups but we don't see that as an issue. People were very active and enjoying themselves, after a small fireworks display at dusk it was very peaceful. We would camp here again. We camped at Outpost Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.
