Called in a reservation about 2.5 hours out from Grandma's. Needed a place to stay overnight on our way back north. Took our payment over the phone and gave us site #4. Office would be closed by the time we arrived, but the receipt would be in the electrical box.
Site #4 was occupied when we got there, so we took the next available, and wouldnchaknow it, our receipt was in the electric service box. A phone call would have been nice letting us know but, no harm, no foul.
Utilities all good. Nice long sites, didn't have to unhook on pull-thru.
Make sure you've got a nice long dump hose, or your neighbors sewer will be right outside your front door.
Easy on/off with freeway also means you can hear it but, it wasn't bad. - Boondockdad
This is a parking lot with hookups. Gravel level sites spaced very very closely. Hookups are all at rear of site so long hoses are needed. No amenities other than slow WIFI, just a clean place to safely park for the night. - lllkrob
Good for overnight stays, right on I-65. Hookups are good. Somewhat over priced for what it is. Very tightly managed, which can be a good thing. Lots of noise, trains, planes, I-65. - amazonian
The park is quite large and is not laid out very well. If you camped here during the peak season, I think it would be very difficult to find your site or get in and out of it. The park is just a few minutes south of Louisville and we were hoping that they offered a shuttle service into the attractions in the city or had an agreement with a tour operator to pick campers up and drop them off again. The KOA in West Memphis offers this service and it's great. We had to unhook and drive into Louisville, where there is major highway construction on I-65 so getting around was confusing and the GPS wasn't much help. There is lots to see and do in Louisville and I think RVers would really appreciate not having to unhook and drive to them. The park is far enough off the interstate so there is no road noise and the Wi-Fi worked well. We would stay here again for a night or two. - 69636
This is typical KOA in design and amenities. We did have a site with a paved patio, which we really like. The sites didn't seem overly tight or narrow. Long gravel pull-through sites. Easy in and out. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again. - SargeW
We stay at KOA's from time to time and this was a longer than normal stay for us (5 nites). We will say it has nice surroundings and tall mature trees which is a plus. It does have a few too many roads and the size of the sites are only average. All in all not a bad KOA. The reason for the low rating is we did not like their condescending reply when we gave them low marks on their entrance road which has you enter the park on the left side of the road which is unnatural and silly. Since KOA asked for a review we took the time to prepare one. Then they insult you -- very bad form. - grahamdick
