Good access to Louisville. Interior roads pretty poor - maybe because of recent heavy rains? Seemed to be a high number of long-termers, which gave areas of the park a very crowded feel. We felt the park wasn't worth the cost, even though we knew that going in. We might feel different if we had kids. We camped at Louisville South KOA in a Motorhome.

We just wanted to stay for one night, a Saturday - get off the road and relax. The office folks worked us into a 75' 30 amp pull thru with water and electricity. We were escorted to our site, which was fairly level and long enough to unhook then park our MDT. Our rooftop satellite was able to lock onto a satellite. We arrived in time to relax in the pool, walk the dog until she tired and go to dinner. Big park, paved and gravel roads, gravel sites, adaquately spaced, exiting the site was fine, the next turn was tight, no worries after that. We have a 40' 5th wheel and tow with a Freightliner, the park is big rig compatible and the employees know where to put ya. Yes, $45 is a bit high for a 30 amp electric/water site but it was where we needed, when we needed with a warm, safe and friendly atmosphere. We camped at Louisville South KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Many planned activities, plus stuff to do -pool, walking paths, jump pillow, dog park, as you would expect at a KOA.

I'm not usually a fan of KOA's because they tend to be a bit pricy but this one of the best I've been to. It's in a large park like setting off the main road. It's family oriented park with lots of activities. We arrived prior to Memorial Day weekend without reservations. After we we arrived we called several parks and found them all booked for the holiday weekend. The office staff went out of their way to help us extend our stay. If ever in the area we'll be back. We camped at Louisville South KOA in a Motorhome.

Bathrooms were warm and clean. Great on a cold, rainy night to get a hot shower. When we pulled in, it was already dark. Found our site clearly marked on a map, but then the KOA host showed up in a pickup truck and drove us to our spot anyway. Helpful! We were only there for a night, but when we got up in the morning we thought it could be a spot we'd stay in longer. Our daughter wanted to play on all the kid stuff (jumping pillow!). Couldn't figure out the cable, but we were using our camper for the first time, so I'm thinking that was us, not the cable. Only negative for us was that the site was a bit muddy, but it had been raining. Again, probably not on them. Only other drawback for us was that we didn't think it was fair to charge extra for a third person (our daughter). Felt like a bit much. We camped at Louisville South KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Overall very nice facility. This is a "Holiday" KOA. Sites were fairly spacious and well maintained (ours was large gravel/rock with good coverage so minimal tracking into RV). We had a deluxe concrete patio with nice bench and table/chairs. The bathhouse was nice and kept very clean. The office store was well stocked. The Staff was great and very helpful. We camped at Louisville South KOA in a Motorhome.

What a weird shower setup. The water from the shower runs into the changing room and beyond. Difficult to get dressed after a shower when the floor is wet and even muddy. The person that designed the shower should hang their head in shame. Decent sized lots. Ours was fairly level but still needed levelers on one side. In theory they have WiFi but was mostly unusable. A small amount of freeway traffic noise but not too bad. There are picnic tables and fire rings but no park model grills. We camped at Louisville South KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Park is about 20 miles south of Louisville. Not very convenient for Louisville site seeing. Not far off I-65 with grocery and Wal Mart close by. The highest rated near by restaurants were Cracker Barrel and Big Boy. Not a fine dining location. Spacious grounds. Some sites are very close together. Gravel roads and gravel sites, reasonably well-maintained. Site was not completely level, but leveling jacks handled it OK. Restrooms and showers were old but clean. Overall an OK stay. Wish that Louisville had more campground choices. We camped at Louisville South KOA in a Motorhome.

We were unable to get into the pull-through FHU site assigned to us because the people in the next site had parked a vehicle in ours and were not around to move it. While this was aggravating, it turned out to be a blessing, as we were able to upgrade to one of the few patio sites and this would certainly have been worth the extra money had the office not waived the additional fee because of the inconvenience, which we very much appreciated. The site was a fairly level, gravel site, and the concrete patio was very nice. We camped at Louisville South KOA in a Travel Trailer.

I found the site to be wonderful especially with our grandkids in tow. We were able to get a site very close to my daughter who was staying in a cabin with her family. Kids loved the bouncy thing and playground. We loved being on top of a hill with many trees. Lots were spacious and offered some shade. Site surface was asphalt and gravel, featuring a fire ring, picnic table and patio. Only downside was all the dogs. We camped at Louisville South KOA in a Motorhome.

Park has ample activities there...fishing hole, trails, pool, kids area, dog area, store, etc. Many choices of electric/water, full hook ups, etc. Camper next to us had fire ring within 3 feet of our rear bumper. We were close to camper storage yard and some tent campers. Weekend had the camp packed like sardines, cleared out weekday. We were far from cabins and seasonal long-term camper spots. We camped at Louisville South KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Friendly, accommodating staff. Very tight interior roads. After not being able to back into the W/E site that was reserved, they gave us a pull-through. The interior roads are poorly drained gravel. When it rained, much of our campsite turned into a big mud hole. The sites are VERY close, almost too close for comfort. Like many KOA's, this place seemed to be more of a kid's resort. Too many campers had dogs that barked 24/7 which detracted from the stay but was not necessarily the fault of the park although they should at least require that disrespectful campers do something about their barking dogs. The place sounded more like a coon hunt than a campground at night. We camped at Louisville South KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Probably the best place to operate from if visiting Lousiville. I do not belive there is anything decent that is any closer. Other than that, I would not see any reason to stop at this place.

We stayed in a 40 ft motorhome with a dinghy. We were given a 50 ft site-pull through. There was about an upgrade about 4 ft long that we were afraid we'd bottom out so backed in. There was minimal gravel and it had rained and was a muddy mess. The bathroom/showers were filthy. With a full camp and the rain, the facilities should have been checked multiple times/day. We would not stay there again. We camped at Louisville South KOA in a Motorhome.

This is the weekly rate. Weekends are a bit higher. Interior roads and sites are gravel. The park is easy to get to from the interstate. Most sites have some trees. The tree at our site was too close for us to put out the awning. Wifi was slow and I had to keep reconnecting each time I used a device. Usually, they will "remember" the connection. There is some train and plane noise but it's mostly a quiet park. We camped at Louisville South KOA in a Motorhome.
