You are totally off the grid at this campground, no tv, cell or wifi. Your drive is through narrow, curvy roads. You think there is a mistake on your GPS and it appears on the right. Small park. The general store was not open during our stay. - Texas Gals
Oct 2013 - $30.00
Do not attempt to come here in a motor home over 30 ft. It was very difficult getting into the park. When I was making reservations, I was told it would be no problems getting into the park. Upon arrival to the park, the woman wasn't sure if we would be able to get into the site assigned to us. She said she would have a woman who lived in her car move, and we could have her site. The bathrooms were nasty as was the shower. The park has permanent residents and a bar. It is nothing like the website presents. I would not recommend camping here. - budolemiss
Sep 2011 - $30.00
Camp on the Kentucky is not a place for big rigs or 30 foot trailers. It is tough to get into and out of the gate to the park. The rain made the road and grass slick and the "gravel" road was in severe need of more gravel and pothole filling. The bathroom was poor at best. The one shower was not clean and there were no paper towels for 2 days. There was no one on site for 2 days during our stay. The Wi-Fi went down and there was no one to report the problem to. We had to write notes and call a phone number (that no one answered) to report problems. The septic at our site filled up and we could not fully dump before leaving the campground. We did have free Wi-Fi, a fire ring, and a good picnic table. We could not get a phone signal in the campground so the owner left a cordless phone outside the door in case of emergency. I will not return here. - Jayco Barbara

Park was very clean and owners were very nice. The site was a pull thru in the middle. These sites are long and curved with the hook ups spread out, depending on how you are positioned you may need extension for either water or electric. The only issue we had was with the road in, the last 3 miles is on a very narrow country road (each lane maybe 9' wide) with drainage ditches on both sides. We used this park as a point to visit the Bourbon Tail and found it to be a convenient location. Park location is scenic as it is along the Kentucky river with tall palisades and water falls on the other side. Pull thru sites are wide open, great satellite reception. The park was very quiet at night. - Chris and Debby

DO NOT TAKE MCAFFE LANE which is basically a one lane road. We took it in a 40' motorhome. Go to 1988 and take that. The lady in the office was extremely nice, the campground is nice with lots of full-timers. We had #72 which is a LONG pull-thru. We didn't hook-up to water as it was at the very end of the pull-thru and we didn't have enough hose to reach it. Other than that it was a nice park. - kathiecarlson
Jul 2017 - $40.00
We did Lexington, Bardstown, and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail from this staging point. Nicest campground we have stayed at in the past 30 days and 3200 miles of travel. This could be a destination camping spot. Several seasonal campers have already found it. Is literally down in a hollow. Three camp sites wide and about 3/4s of a mile long. Very well maintained and staff was exceptionally helpful. River right below the campground. High bluffs with a waterfall. Water access for boats and kayaks. Coming down Hwy 127 gps will put you onto a road which is marked "no RVs on this road" Heed the sign. Do not make the turn. Go one more road to the south. The gps designated road is just wide enough for one vehicle. No cell service, but wifi was free and worked fairly well for a camp ground. - Mike from Bama

Elkhorn is well off the highway surrounded by what appear to be Kentucky horse ranches and a golf course and was very quiet overnight. Reception was friendly and as we were looking for an overnight site and didn't want to unhook, the lady asked for our total length and then consulted her list. They have measured each site and have a binder of photos showing the dimensions of each so that we were able to pick the one that looked best for our needs. A recent heavy rain had filled the creek that runs along the property to capacity and it was running fast only feet behind our site. I checked it on arrival and again before retiring to be sure it wasn't still rising. Despite the heavy rain, the grounds were not soft or muddy. Most of the sewer and cable sites were occupied by seasonal campers, the balance of the sites along the creek were W/E only and there is a dump near the exit. Some of the older trees appear sketchy and a large limb had fallen causing major damage to a trailer. I will return here if we were to come this way again in the future. - Trailbuddy
Sep 2017 - $32.00
I thoroughly enjoyed this campground. I was in a back-in site right next to the Elkhorn River which runs through the campground. The site was easy to get into with plenty of space on either side. My site, #10, was long and level. The wifi was strong at my site. The bathhouse has recently been remodeled and it was modern and clean. The dump station was easily accessible. The washers and dryers are only $1 but the laundry area is a little small. The grounds are impeccable and the staff was very friendly and courteous. I stayed a week and I would definitely go back. - fnet4444
Sep 2017 - $33.00
Large,well-managed campground, convenient to the Kentucky state capital, museums, factory tours and tastings. Variety of sites, many seasonal and a few permanent residents, lots of activities within the campground and for miles around. Site 91 was a pull-thru, just large enough and we needed levelers on the passenger side. We will stay there again. - Mom_of_Two

The park is very wide open and lots of green grass. The sites are not level but there is lots of space between sites. Quiet and a country feel. We asked for a site with fewer trees so we could easily connect to our satellite. There was no useable WiFi at our site. It is tight to get our 45 foot RV on the site and our car as well. - Mobee
Nov 2017 - $25.00
We were just there for an overnight stop. Called ahead for same day arrival and the staff was very helpful. Explained we'd be a late arrival. They said to pick a spot not reserved/held and stop by in the morning. We did and admired their camp store. - DMcKitt
Nov 2017 - $34.00
We rate this park as okay. Narrow paved pads just wide enough for the MH. Tight backing in with vehicles parked along the road. Our first site was 13" low in the front. Changed to another site that was 6" low in the rear. Pressure reducer needed for water. Elec. 50 amp was good. No sewer. Not a bad campground just tighter then we like and will look elsewhere in the future. Staff was helpful and friendly. - Oliver-Max

Oct 2017 - $45.00
A beautifully-operated RV park near Georgetown. We paid extra for the Premium Site which I would recommend. Looked a little cramped with regular sites on the way in. Very well maintained park. As we were sitting out late afternoon, we could hear lots of gunfire from some firing range nearby and it continued for a while. other than that, it was quiet. Very nice patios on the premium site, but didn't care for the sewer hookups near the picnic tables. Fast check in. The park is a little hard to get to from the freeway, having to go on some small roads and the final road section there is a narrow single lane. We were hoping we wouldn't meet another big rig on it, and didn't. - elduque
Oct 2017 - $37.00
Nice clean friendly park. But real difficult to find a level lot. Many are already taken by seasonal campers. What is left is short back in lots with close quarters. Cars are parked too close for you to hook up in the morning. Sewer connections are going up hill. We will not stay a second time. - Hydeaway
Oct 2017 - $30.00
We were told in advance that we could not get a pull thru and all that was available was a back in. That said we have been to the park as a stop over in the past and we explained at this time as well as before we had a 45 ft bus. The problem is we were placed in a short back in that can barely handle a 40 ft but to add to the problem we could not level with the jacks and the best we could do is with air which because of the site was not level. If you have a 45 ft and they do not have a pull thru keep going. They advertise WIFI but it really does not exist and they say it does not work. - PAYOFF

Looks like at one time it was a nice park, sadly run down and mostly 'permanent' residents now. Very nice staff, looks like they are doing what they can. - Kbtx
Jul 2014 - $25.00
We were here over the Fourth of July weekend so we tried to take that into consideration, but there were some things we couldn't overlook. First of all, the staff was wonderful and couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. They stopped by our site several times. Unfortunately the actual campground itself was in need of some desperate repairs. Across from our site was an old shower house (?) with a port-a-potty in front. The shower house was inoperable so the port-a-potty was the only bathroom for the 30+ people on our end of the camp site. In order to use a sink you had to walk all the way to the entrance. Our first night we were awoken at 11:00 by a chainsaw one of the other campers was using to cut their firewood and our next door neighbors were setting off mortar fireworks that were raining down on our RV. There were cars parked EVERYWHERE and the tent site below us kept driving their truck through our site and parking it next to our chairs. The second night wasn't quite as eventful. The woman next door was walking around without her pants on and they also had visitors so there were at least a dozen people crammed on one site. If you need a place to stay near Nicholasville then this is pretty much the only option, but I would try to stay somewhere else if possible. - coldwaterconch
May 2013 - $25.00
I hate to be totally negative so, the 50 amp service was good. Wi-Fi was okay, but charged for each day. Hookups on wrong side of RV. Park Very run down. Lots were part grass part large rocks. Lots of old, I mean, Old trailers. We had reserved 5 days, when checking in changed that to 2. After 1 night, we left, they did refund the 2nd day lot rental. Staff was friendly. Would not camp here again - dj4pres

Aug 2011 - $26.00
This is a nice campground about 10 miles outside of Frankfort KY. Initial impressions were that the grounds were somewhat "aged" but after paying and heading to the site, the actual grounds are very nice. They are back quite a bit from the office and well maintained, quiet and pleasant. Our only issue was that the electric spiked high voltage every evening around 7:00. This caused our EMS to shut down the electric to our coach and start the inverter to protect our system. The length of time varied each day. We had good Verizon cell and air card coverage. The owners were very pleasant. We would return if in the area. - Gypsy Turtles
Aug 2010 - $25.00
Rate reflects a weekly rate. This is a gem located north of Frankfort on the Kentucky River at the mouth of the Elkhorn Creek. Entry can be misleading as you cross a single-lane bridge on pavement and then transition to gravel. The area around the office and the storage area are a bit unkempt, but as you are escorted to your site you round the bend and see a beautiful, unspoiled meadow. All roads are gravel and single lane but courtesy makes traversing them no problem. We requested a site for our satellite and had no problem connecting. However, many sites are in the shade so be sure to request an open site if that is important to you. The full-hook-up sites have many seasonals but their campsites are neat. The hook-ups are conveniently located and easily accessed. The sites are gravel surrounded with grass. This is not a resort but if you like a state park atmosphere with full hook-ups, you'll enjoy Still Waters. There are also two primitive areas and water/electric only sites available for RVs and tents with a dump station on the grounds. There are no trains, no highway noises, no city lights. Frisbee golf, fishing, hiking, volleyball and a lots of wide open spaces for the kids to run are located on the grounds as well as canoe rentals available at the concession in the campground. Probably could be busy/zoo on a summer/holiday weekend or if there's a company picnic on the grounds, but during the week it is an oasis. Located about 10 miles north of Frankfort, Still Waters is close enough to access all the sightseeing available in the area. Would definitely return again. - Here4Now

Oct 2015 - $48.00
Little crowded, several permanent RVs there. Little loud after midnight. Had to pay $10.00 gate card deposit that you get back when leave. We left on Sunday Morning after 8:00 a.m. And no one was on duty to return card and retrieve the $10.00. I left card and my card asking to mail my $10.00, which they did. I also paid $10.00 extra for the pull thru lot, which was in a curve with lots behind you. - Sissy Wommack
Sep 2015 - $35.00
We stayed here for our visit to the wonderful Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill just 9 miles away. The park is well-maintained. It is on the cliffs over looking Lake Harrington, and crammed full of seasonal guests. We arrived late in the day and got a back-in spot that was a little short for our 30 feet, but we parked at an angle and were able to keep our nose off the road. There is a marina a short walk down the road. We swam our dog there. We were surprised to see the sign saying that the marina charges for launching kayaks and canoes as well as power boats. That area of Kentucky has mostly narrow windy roads, and the road into this campground is no exception. - ShoreXplorers
Sep 2009 - $30.00
This park is under new ownership and the new owners will be adding stronger Wi-Fi and cable TV next year. It's in the hills, on terraced sites and quiet. Lots of seasonals stay here as the marina is very close. A beautiful, man-made lake setting. Cell phone service is spotty due to the mountains. TV reception was good for our rig, as was the internet. If I lived closer I'd look into a seasonal site here. Nice place with friendly staff. We were here for a family reunion so spent several nights. - diamondg
