City owned park just outside of town. Very quiet. Good utilities. Camp host helpful and available. My one negative is the place is lit up like a mall parking lot at night. - jnateg
Mar 2017 - $24.00
Calm and quiet city park. Camp host was always available and a great guy. No facilities. Club house that we didn't explore. Sites clean and fairly level. Large with lots of space in between. Full hookups with 30 and 50 amp. Most of the sites have firepits, ours didn't. We backed up to the woods and were wakened at night with hooting owls. Lots of bird-watching in the park itself. Feels like a state park in terms of beauty and privacy, but with full hookups and very good wifi. Verizon signal strong. - jenshick
Dec 2016 - $24.00
We stayed at Abbeville RV Park in Abbeville, Louisiana for a few nights. Nice city park with full hookups, $24/night. Friendly and helpful park host. The Tabasco Factory and Rip Van Winkle Gardens are worth visiting. Beautiful Cajun country. Great local food. Palmetto Island State Park is another good option for the area, but 10 miles further out from stores and restaurants. We would stay here again. - drfife

We pulled in this afternoon to find the office locked with no notes on how to contact the owner nor what to do if they weren't there. We couldn't tell where they put RVs as it looked to be pretty full already with most of the park single wide long term owners. Someone drove by and said they'd go get the owner and 15 minutes later they came back and said the owner had been notified they had a customer and would be over shortly. We hung around for another 20 minutes, walked through the park and decided to leave. I give them a zero for not being foresighted enough to have provided contact information or at the very least, instructions on where to park if no one was around. We were tired, hungry and wanted to get settled in for the night, not waiting around for hours. We won't be back. - User3326
Nov 2010 - $9.00
We used Passport America discount. Older park, needed grass cut, small sites, friendly people, new bathrooms, showers and laundry. Nice pub within walking distance.(Culpeppers). Would really question ability to handle large rigs. OK for short stays. PA site says fire rings, none seen. - retiredgeezer

Fantastic find! Very peaceful and quiet country setting. We really enjoyed staying a couple of nights here and seeing the bayou country. Easy to get to, about 1.5 miles off of Hwy 82. No amenities here, but sites are back-in, flat, gravel, full hook-up with great water pressure and steady electric. Open sky for satellite dish and shade trees at the rear of the sites. The owner may be the nicest guy in all of Louisianna! He's not on-site, but will swing by if he knows you're coming (or already popped-in). - Full-Time Roamers
Mar 2013 - $15.00
This is a great little park off the beaten path and set in the corner of a pasture. A unique little rustic park with level sites and the perfect location for sightseeing in Cajun country. Ask them about their alternating crops of rice and crawdads and get a tour of the farm. This place is charming and unique. We will stay here again. Rate reflects a Passport America discount. - Mike Neighbours
Feb 2013 - $17.00
The owner seemed very nice. We arrived after dark and were not sure which of the two available sites to take as there is no office at the park. We pulled into the field by the park and our tow vehicle sunk into the soft ground. We called the owner and he met us onsite. We should have called him first to get the run down of the best way to get into the sites. After backing into the road and then backing into the park we got into the site. The hook ups all worked very well and the park is very quiet. The park is definitely out of town and there are no bathroom facilities but it was comfortable. We stayed on the Passport America rate. - Sixontheroad

Not much of an RV park but you can't beat the experience. Betty has 17 sites around perimeter of her yard but that is not why you go there. You go for the fun and camaraderie. You arrive as a stranger but definitely leave with many new friends, including Betty. She is the main draw to the park. She has created a warm, welcoming and good fun in her "parlor" and outside deck area (weather permitting). We would return in a heartbeat and highly recommend the experience. Betty is also very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and directed us to many local venues for the real "cajun" experience. Jam sessions in Maurice & Erath, Crawfish @ T-Bob's Seafood, tour of & jam session at Martin Accordions in Lafayette and more; experiences we will not soon forget. - mdjr
Oct 2017 - $22.00
Can't give this RV Park an 8 or 9 as per earlier ratings. Yes, the owner is a great host hosting a Happy Hour at 4:30 each afternoon enabling everyone in the park to visit with one another. However the park of 18 sites is an all gravel parking lot with small sites creating a crammed in feeling. Full hookups, no cable TV, no picnic table, no pool or spa. Free Wi-fi, which is slow. Located on a busy road with road noise starting around 5AM, increasing through the rush hour. Back-in sites. However there is one pull-thru site. - Michael Kibler
Sep 2017 - $24.00
As all of the previous reviews have stated you come to this park for a social experience. The park is the owner’s yard which has been gravelled over. Spaces are back in and very tight. Utility pole, water and sewer are at the back of the site so did require some maneuvering. There is no shade. The owner has a large covered patio area off of the front of her home which is where all of the guests congregate. While we were there we attended the happy hour as well as having a Louisiana shrimp boil which everyone participated in. We had adequate OTA television stations and Verizon service. There are restaurants, groceries, meat markets and fuel readily available. If you are up for meeting lots of new folks this is a good place to go. Just remember you are not coming for a gorgeous campground. - bbmidwife

Louisiana State Parks appear to take pride in their campgrounds and this shows. Sites are long and wide. Restrooms are clean and even have free laundry. The wi-fi is slow but it works. The hosts were very nice as were the kiosk staff. The surrounding swamps were just like you'd expect to see in a movie. Abbeville is not far, with the usual services including the requisite Dairy Queen. The interior roads could use some work, and better trail maps would be nice. - Kvw613
Dec 2017 - $25.00
What a lovely park! The sites are well spaced and have vegetation between for visual separation. Everything was very clean. The bathrooms were spotless and kept that way by amazing, vigilant volunteer camp hosts. There are free laundry facilities that were also spotless thanks to the volunteers. When we were there it was very calm and quiet. However, fair warning, according to the staff, on many weekends the park turns into party central with the local folks. It can be late nights with lots of noise. According to the staff, the sites on the cul-de-sac around 66 are the biggest party sites. We were there on Christmas weekend and it was almost empty. There are roadways and trails for biking. Also, the roads just outside the park are calm enough to be good for biking. Do be wary for loose-roaming dogs. The birding is great if you are into that. There is park WiFi that sometimes worked, very slowly, so don't depend on it. We were able to get DirecTV satellite with our portable dish strategically placed, some sites would have more of a problem. We had very good Verizon voice and data. We started out on site 67 but moved to site 66 since a big family with music came in next to site 67. We would definitely stay here again, but would avoid weekends. - TheJim

Such a beautiful gem. We loved the trails for our bikes. Camp host was very helpful. Mosquitos were bad. The restrooms were very clean. Our site, 91 was very private and level. - Mamapapa

This is a small, country campground on Lake Peigneur. The owner is a retired gentleman that is very accommodating and easy to get along with. There is a pier, boat launch, and a clubhouse. Sites 13 and 17 are the best for lakeside parking. There is a dump station. The reason I rated it an 8 is because there are no restrooms or showers or sewer hookups and only 30amp electric. This is a fantastic campground for a weekend getaway on the lake. - malojeer

I stayed here for 4 nights working in nearby St. Martinville. The park is clean and most of the sites are away from Hwy 90 so quiet. I was close to the back and it was very quiet. There are a lot of workers staying here and some longer term residents. The road coming in is gravel and a bit rough but nothing too bad. Site is gravel and level, full hook ups, and all back in sites. The campground is very clean and seems well kept, a good bit of trees but none in the way and a good amount of space between sites.
Cash or check only, no credit cards. - DavzCarz
Dec 2017 - $25.00
Stayed 3 nights. WIFI was better than most parks. Host was good to us. Park has mostly long term residents. However, you could not tell they were long term, all sites were clean and orderly for most part. Road noise was not bad. Park has a bunch of speed bumps to keep traffic slow, which it is. We enjoyed our stay in this no frills park. Didn't use restrooms, but office was clean. We would stay again. - FTatcret2013
Jul 2015 - $25.00
The staff is Incredibly rude, took the enjoyment out of the stay. Park looks good until it rains and then it floods. Water covers the roads. Roads have huge pot holes. Bathrooms appear to be clean but are small and dark. - Articrob

We stay here when we are in Lafayette. A lot of work is being done to clean up, trees trimmed so Satelite works on most sites. Close to good food. No pool but who cares I don't come to Lafayette for a pool. If you use Silver Sneakers Snap fitness is about 1/2 miles, I need to work out after all the food. Go to BJ's for a Shrimp PoBoy and fries. You won't be disappointed, about 1/2 mile. - User2314
Sep 2014 - $20.00
Spent one night at this park and while the park manager was friendly and nice, will not stop again. Traffic noise was so loud you felt like you were in the median strip on the highway and did not let up until after 10:30 or so. It appeared there were a number of old and abandoned RVs parked there. Since our camper has no bathroom, we had to use the shower and restroom, and they were in bad shape. There was a plunger by the toilets which were not functioning properly, no exhaust fan of any type that I could see for the showers, and not clean. That experience taught me to look at the bathrooms to check them before parking there. - Travellite14
May 2014 - $12.00
This park accepts Passport America, which is the rate I paid. This isn't a "destination" park, with pool, dog run, kid's playground, etc. I used this park as a home base for exploring the Lafayette area. It is on Route 90, and you'll get traffic noise, but it certainly didn't bother me. While I was there, the owner was having the laundry and bathroom building painted inside and out. He has been working on a solution to bring Wi-Fi to the park, but has had trouble coordinating with the cable provider. He was very accommodating, as I kept extending my stay. I would stay there again if I was in the area. - Betty.Karl

Park administration has moved from the city to the parish, and those folks are going all out to make this a 5 star resort. The concrete pads are level and easy to get into, and I would have given the place a 10 out of 10 if there was more of a patio area. The pool area is like nowhere else with the lazy river and swamp bar. Biggest asset has got to be the staff. We have never met such wonderful, friendly, welcoming and helpful people anywhere. We'll be back. - Voyageurs
Aug 2016 - $40.00
New park with pool, swim up bar, & lazy river. Park requires wristbands, has small store but does not provide or sell tubes for lazy river. Sites are narrow, close together, & has no fire rings. - George-Michelle
Jul 2016 - $40.00
We stayed at this park for 3 nights. The pad for the camper was level although very narrow. There was an extreme drop off from the pad of camper which was limestone making setting anything up under canopy very difficult. The sites are very close together, so when setting up chairs at the bottom of the slope, you are literally sitting on top of your neighbors sewer connection. It did have a fire ring, but it was so close to the camper on the side of us we could not use it, afraid to set the camper on fire. The amount of kids (9-12 ) year old driving golf carts around was ridiculous, not to mention the drunk adults driving carts around!! The pool area was nice except for the trash floating around in pool (styrofoam cups & paper plates). Also the amount of non-campers using the pool on the weekend makes it almost impossible to be able to enjoy yourself while swimming, really don't see how there is not a limit on allowable people for safety reasons. Needless to say this was our first and last trip to this campground, there are too many other nice campgrounds around this area to put up with this. As a person warned us before going here, this is a "Trashy Cajun Palms" wannabe!! - jmhebe

Nice park. We stayed here a few years ago and they have enlarged the park and made many upgrades. There was plenty of room and the park is big rig friendly , clean , and well maintained. - Cinbob
Feb 2018 - $29.00
Nice office staff and location to Hwy 90. The park is mostly fulltimers and the conditions that are present with them. There is only one restroom in the park for 200 sites. The shower was dark and dingy and I would not use it. - boomerlee
Nov 2017 - $34.00
Clean park with large sites. Gravel and mostly level with concrete patio. Very nice helpful staff. Not a resort but safe convenient location to visit area. Only problem is so close to I-10 (and our site was right near entrance) that extremely loud traffic noise. Campground can't help that but can't be ignored. If in area would likely stay here again. - 2retiresoon
