Fantastic find! Very peaceful and quiet country setting. We really enjoyed staying a couple of nights here and seeing the bayou country. Easy to get to, about 1.5 miles off of Hwy 82. No amenities here, but sites are back-in, flat, gravel, full hook-up with great water pressure and steady electric. Open sky for satellite dish and shade trees at the rear of the sites. The owner may be the nicest guy in all of Louisianna! He's not on-site, but will swing by if he knows you're coming (or already popped-in). We camped at Audubon RV Park (formerly Audobon Acres RV Park) in a Motorhome.
Hwy 82 from Texas line (Port Arthur) was a beautiful drive. Saw a dozen gators...in February! Had to hop on a ferry across the Cameron canal (free eastbound, $1 westbound, no restrictions under 50 ft.)
Tobasco factory is half-hour away from the park...on Avery Island.

This is a great little park off the beaten path and set in the corner of a pasture. A unique little rustic park with level sites and the perfect location for sightseeing in Cajun country. Ask them about their alternating crops of rice and crawdads and get a tour of the farm. This place is charming and unique. We will stay here again. Rate reflects a Passport America discount. The owner seemed very nice. We arrived after dark and were not sure which of the two available sites to take as there is no office at the park. We pulled into the field by the park and our tow vehicle sunk into the soft ground. We called the owner and he met us onsite. We should have called him first to get the run down of the best way to get into the sites. After backing into the road and then backing into the park we got into the site. The hook ups all worked very well and the park is very quiet. The park is definitely out of town and there are no bathroom facilities but it was comfortable. We stayed on the Passport America rate. We camped at Audubon RV Park (formerly Audobon Acres RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.Undo

This is our second stay here for a total of six weeks. 4 spaces, No facilities, shaded by huge, old live oaks on a working rice & Crawfish farm 7 miles SW of Abbeville. very quiet country setting. Good 50 amp / water. On the roof satellite dish worked if I parked forward on the graveled pad. Verizon lap-top card & cell phone worked. Lot's to see & do in the area. Check out Suire's grocery & restaurant, it's famous in this area for it's food & rightly so. Abbeville had all major stores & lot's of great restaurant's. You won't regret staying here. Come here instead of staying in Abbeville, and you'll be glad you did. This is a teeny place to park your rig, in a large, peaceful setting far off the main highway. The owner is a wonderfully friendly guy who will tell you all you want to know about this historic Cajun region, and might even show you his crawfish farming operation if you're lucky. It's basic accommodations but quite a deal, and the scenery can't be beat. We camped at Audubon RV Park (formerly Audobon Acres RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

Delightful little 4 space RV park about 8 miles outside of Abbeville. This is a no frills park located out in the country, far away from road noise. Our rate is the Passport America rate; the normal rate is $20. This park is most appropriate for those coming up Hwy 82 toward Abbeville. While it's a bit out of town, the peace and quiet and neat grounds are worth the extra travel time. The owner has lived in the area for over 40 years and his family raises both rice and crayfish. He doesn't get much traffic due to the location, but since he's Passport America, I wanted to post a review to let other PPA members know that this is a nice, friendly place. Be aware that there is no restroom or other facilities of any kind, but at $10, who can complain? And the drive along Hwy 82 from Abbeville to the Texas line is fabulous.
