5 Parks near Bastrop, Louisiana
Apr 2015 - $23.00
$23 per night was for a level asphalt pad with 50-amp electric and water site. Sites are generous dirt/sand/dead leaves areas with a picnic table on a concrete pad, fire ring, and pedestal BBQ unit. The whole park is loaded with different types of tall trees and low vegetation. There were abundant types of birds flitting about. The night sky is very dark so the stars are brilliant through the tree branches. All the facilities were in great condition and the park staff was very friendly and helpful. There are miles of multi-use and hiking trails. This campground is located about five miles from small town Bastrop where most amenities could be found. The park advertises that it has public Wi-Fi access but it was not working during our stay (they were working on a solution). AT&T and Verizon service was two bars of 4G LTE. We received five over-the-air TV stations and many radio stations. - DD Rolling Ranch
Oct 2013 - $15.00
Last time we stayed here in 2011 we gave the park an 8 but it has declined considerably. Rest room/showers were filthy, sites needed to be picked up after, and asphalt sites needed to be re-leveled. Noted that there was no camp host and did not look like there had been one for awhile. This is a beautiful setting and hopefully will be cleaned up. - horsefolk
Sep 2012 - $8.00
Rate reflects America the Beautiful Senior Pass for Louisiana resident. Beautiful state park, clean, well maintained. Friendly staff. Campsites were mostly level; quiet park. There are planned activities. Fishing areas, boat launch and group areas. Landry facilities were clean and operational, $0.75 wash/$0.75 dry, quite reasonable to us. Bathrooms were clean. They have a separate area for people camping with horses. Several walking and horse trails. Camp hosts and staff were friendly and helpful about the park. Only deterrent for us was a guest who allowed his dog to run without a leash; we had to chase dog out of our campsite. Would stay here again when in the area. - Fixn2gocamp
Jun 2016 - $60.00
Very nice RV park along with a great view. Easy to get in and out. Nice clean restrooms and shower house. The owners are very nice. Next to 165 highway. - christina31
May 2011 - $23.00
Very nice campground. This is not a destination campground but it is a good place to stop on the way. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Most of the sites are easy access for larger rigs. There are a number of trees so antenna access was limited. WI-FI worked well here. We stayed here for a week. - Speedy
Apr 2016 - $27.00
We stayed overnight in a pull-thru site that barely fit with our 37' motorhome and CRV toad. There is only one road in the park that seems like it was recently renewed with rock, the others were heavily rutted. Recent rains left many muddy ruts throughout the park. The standing water and pond/lake on the property meant many swarming insects. While convenient for an overnight stop, we would not stop here again. - Tony Connie and Rusty
Aug 2015 - $24.00
The $24 rate is for a one week stay. The sign at the entrance is very small and it only shows coming from the west. Since there were utility workers right at the driveway I missed the sign and had to find a place to turn around and come back. All 68 sites are full utilities and most are pull through. The space (37) is semi gravel some mud and not quite level side to side. The sites are very wide and most are very short. The back end of my fifth wheel is almost in the drive and with the truck parked closely in front of the rig it is almost in the drive in front. Wifi is available I had good reception. MiFi has fair reception. There is no TV and I didn't try over the air. The couple managing the park are helpful however you are not led to you site. There is no pool, most sites are in part shade. There are a lot of permanent RVs some are under a metal cover. Most all sites are neat and not cluttered. There are a lot of workers with truck traffic beginning around 5:30 am. The interior driveways are part gravel and mud with some ruts. They are using some kind of mud mixture for fill and it is not working. I've seen a pond in the park and people fishing. The laundry which is open 24 hours was clean and had four working washers and dryers all take $1.75. There is a small play ground, shuffleboard and basketball hoop. They have a nice size lending library and clubhouse. - annc
Jun 2014 - $27.00
Older campground (once KOA). Brand new "rehab" management; lady at desk was very nice - explained some of their issues with rehab. Park itself is pleasant - plenty of room, many trees, grass cut, power good, water good, sewer had pipes at ground-level (good!). Gravel sites less than half-bubble off-level; gravel roads in pretty good repair. Bathrooms / showers seemed fairly "clean," however they were in poor repair, to include ceilings and fans. Typical of this part of the country, temporary workers (gas/coal/RR/oil) keep many of these parks going; there are some long-termers, and even a couple park models with a shed-roof; all are neat and in good repair. Nice setting, infrastructure is good, facilities need work. If you don't need the restrooms/showers, and full hook-ups will meet your needs, this is a decent little campground for the price. And you'll pass Sam's Club on the way in. If our trip/schedule dictates, we'd definitely stay at this campground again. - johngalt
Feb 2013 - $15.00
This park is run by Union County not the COE. The COE leases to the county. You can do long term camping at a rate of $290.00 a month. The park is very close to the Felsenthal dam. The park actually is located in the Town of Felsenthal. They park was very clean. The back part of the park was close due to lack of campers. The park does rent out RV park models (4 of them). - Joceil
Dec 2011 - $10.00
This campground is next to the Flsenthal lock and dam about 12 miles from the town of "Strong", AR. We were down here and checked it out but did not stay here. It has paved roads and sites with 30 amp power water and sewer available. Most sites just have water and electric. There's lots of shade available and the place has a few long term residents but not nearly as many as the Crossett Harbor campground. I think Verizon Wi-Fi will work here but it will be slow we only had 2 bars on our phone. The rate is the posted senior rate for water and electric hook up. I think the full rate was $10-11 for water and electric and water sewer and electric was $13. Looks like a nice place with out much hustle and bustle. - pumper9x9
Nov 2016 - $36.00
We have stayed here many times. It's a perfect overnight stay between Texas and Alabama. Staff is friendly Sites are pull through. Full hookups.
A bit noisy. Sites are kinda close. Great proximity to good food and shopping. Highly recommend for short stays! - Hathaway67
Oct 2016 - $36.00
Previous reviews are still appropriate. My biggest complaint is the Tengointernet service. It is too restrictive and slow! It is a good place for an overnight stop. - dagopapa
Sep 2016 - $34.00
Each time I stay here there are more and more permanent campers. 10 pull thru sites, the rest permanent. Gravel roads maintained well but dusty.
A large truck stop across the street but noise is not a problem.
Pull thru sites are level. Many utility boxes are in bad shape.
We have family in town and have been staying here for many years and will continue to do so. - racer0624
