The website for this park needs a lot of help. There are no directions or recommended routing for RV's. Do NOT try to turn onto Brightside from Nicholson!!! This is a very steep railroad crossing over which our front leveling jacks drug. Also, making that 90 degree turn is impossible in a large RV if there are any cars waiting on Brightside at the signal. I wish I knew a better route in, but I will try to post something if we find a more suitable route. The signage is very poor. It says to register in the office, but the sign also says it is closed on the weekends. Another camper sent me all the way across the facility to the arena activity center. Again, no signs saying anything about RV registration. It turned out there was a girl in that facility that did register us. She seemed confused when I said I could find no signage. Anyway, this is pricey for what you get. I can see what others have said about the grass sites becoming a soggy mess in the rain. They are also set up as double sites which would never fit two large RV's. I can't figure that one out. There were very few people here, so we just basically used two sites. Other than a very nice place to walk your dog, it's just a quiet spot in the country. We camped at Farr Park Campground & Horse Activity Center in a Motorhome.

I arrived after 4:30 on a Saturday so had to go to the office after 8 AM to pay the next day. It is quite a bit out of the way, but another park in Baton Rouge wanted $50 (didn't really want a 1 night stay) or were full of workers in Port Allen. It was $12 when I was there years ago. There were about 10 sites occupied.

All new hookups. Spacious lots, grass site surface. Dump station nearby. The roads did have some standing water from rain the night before. We camped at Farr Park Campground & Horse Activity Center in a Motorhome.

We have stayed at this park several times. It is a nice clean park with electric and water hookups, no sewer but they do have a dump station on the way out. We have always paid a rate of $20.00 a night to stay here. The rate is now $39.90 a night. The only difference is they have added 50 amps to all sites. I had to check a couple of sites as some had low voltage. I don't see a need for a near $20.00 rate increase for upgrading from 30 to 50 amps. We camped at Farr Park Campground & Horse Activity Center in a Fifth Wheel.

Shower house and bathrooms were old, but serviceable. Muddy grass sites. Sites tend to flood after rain storms. Very near LSU. Dump station available. Roads into park were not well maintained. Great location if you are there for an event on campus. We camped at Farr Park Campground & Horse Activity Center in a Motorhome.

This is an open, grass field with roads, water and electricity put in to make campsites. It is VERY near LSU and convenient to downtown Baton Rouge. It is safe and quiet. The campground is separated by just a fence from fields where horses graze. We had a lovely morning view over coffee. In spite of a sign telling us to register at the arena, we registered at a small office on site. The only employee accompanied us out to the camp site and unlocked the electric box for us. She was very helpful. We were able to Uber from there to downtown, though the driver on our return trip couldn't find the campground on his navigation software. So, we directed him back. The route was pretty simple, we had been in town about 6 hours at that point and we were able to find our way. We camped at Farr Park Campground & Horse Activity Center in a Motorhome.

The beef I have with this park is that their signage is unreliable. There is a sign at the park entrance that says that outside office hours (mon-fri) pick a site and pay the next day. So we tried that ! We discovered that the electrical outlets were padlocked. A fellow camper told us that the rate for that particular area (50amp) was $39.00 . There was a 30amp section but that was behind the arena. That was worth $20.00 All these sites are in a large field in a very quiet area. The fellow also mentioned that we could dry camp for $10.00. If we wanted the electrical box unlocked we were to go see the employee in the arena office. So we did. We walked over as it wasn't that far. The girl at the office confirmed the information we had received. There was no price list posted anywhere. When we told her that we would like to dry camp she even suggested we use any of the site and we could hook up to water. We expected to use our generator so we parked in their overflow to avoid annoying other campers. From the campsite it is an easy 30min bike ride along the levee right downtown. We were there on Monday. Baton Rouge is very quiet on a Monday. We stayed 2 very enjoyable days. We camped at Farr Park Campground & Horse Activity Center in a Travel Trailer.

A nice country park in the city which is ideally located. The park was very quiet and felt very safe. Management was very nice and friendly and made you feel comfortable. This park is very close to LSU and a number of places to eat. When we are in the area we will stay again. We camped at Farr Park Campground & Horse Activity Center in a Motorhome.

Large spaces on grass, near LSU and downtown.

Helpful staff. Solid 50 amp and water. no sewer but there is a dump site. Close to the river for walking.

Such a deal.

The road to the park crosses the RR tracks at a severe angle. check your maps because there are lower track crossings closer to I-12. My coach is just 32' and towing and we expected too, but did not scrape.

Park is great for dog running and there were usually people riding at the horse arena. If the ground is too wet you can park further to the campground rear on gravel. We camped at Farr Park Campground & Horse Activity Center in a Motorhome.

A grass field, but surprisingly level site. Pick your own site as few spaces taken. Arrived on Saturday; office closed until Monday. No sewer, but dump station. We enjoyed seeing the horses play in the pasture. We camped at Farr Park Campground & Horse Activity Center in a Travel Trailer.

This park is set within a horse park arena area. Water and electric only. Gravel roads with grass parking. Older hookups but worked OK. Has bath and shower house that was clean. Friendly staff. Park is in a safe area about 2 miles from LSU. Levee walking path close by. Was there during intense rain, and really wasn't that bad, everything gets squishy here anyways. Has dump station, park suited us well for a few days visit in Baton Rouge area, price reasonable for what you get. Friendly staff. We camped at Farr Park Campground & Horse Activity Center in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Depending on the size of your rig, for me, I found a much easier route to the campground via Bluebonnet to Burbank then to Nicholson. Turn Left on Skip Bertman and then left on River Road. Park is approximately 2 miles on your left. If you come on weekends, you must go to the indoor arena on site to check in and pay.

Many of the sites hold water and can be muddy if it rains. Some of the sites have faucets that leak. Better to the back row. Great location. Nice place to walk as it is near the Mississippi levee walkway. Near casino and LSU. Good price. We camped at Farr Park Campground & Horse Activity Center in a Fifth Wheel.

Basic park with 30 amp and water hookups - and a 4 spot dump station. Grass parking spots. Small trees scattered around, minimal shade. Showers/restrooms clean no frills. Close to downtown Baton Rouge, casinos, Tiger Stadium & the excellent biking/walking trail on top of the levee. Watching the horses and riders is entertaining. Electric is 4 30a outlets per power pole two in each box. Two sites use same power pole pulling through in opposite directions. Water pressure is 60+ psi, no sewer on sites. No WiFi. AT&T & Verizon 4G LTE Air Card service is useable but poor. AT&T Cell phone 4 out of 5 bars. No Cable. Sites are on grass field with plenty of room between door side sites. Satellite is easy in open areas. No long term tenants. Payment with Credit Card ok. The sites are pretty run down. A power pedestal was knocked down and some have bad leaking water making the site unusable. Office is not manned on weekends. You have to go to the big Equestrian office building off to one side behind the small office. If you like being around horses the Equestrian Park is great to see the horses and some of the riders. I would stay here again but would be cautious of picking a site. We camped at Farr Park Campground & Horse Activity Center in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

It is useful to have a power splitter to use the two 30a outlets (per camper) and connect your 50a power cable to it. It helps if your staying more than a night or two if you have one. You can get a splitter at the RV Dealer in Baton Rouge.
