The website made this place look great, so we gave it a try. Reality: The sites are close together. It looks close to a RV dealership with so many rigs so close together. You are given a long rules sheet, which is absolutely ignored by many campers, and not enforced by staff. Downsides: Vehicles protruding into the narrow streets. 5 MPH speed limit ignored. Vehicles and MANY golf carts going the wrong way on one way streets. People openly consuming alcohol while driving golf carts. Music so loud in the pool area you can't hold a normal voice level conversation. Partying boozers everywhere. Kids running wild on foot and bicycles. Upsides: If you like loud, if you like to booze it up everywhere in the campground including streets and while driving golf carts, if you want to let your kids run wild, then you will love it. We camped at Cajun Palms RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed from Friday afternoon through Sunday morning. The park was kept very nice. Grass was cut, pool was clean and everyone was having a good time. Lots of families with their children riding bikes. We didn't have anything to complain about. We will go again. We camped at Cajun Palms RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Very large park with over 300 sites, nicely kept, with a few pools, a couple of bars (including a swim-up bar in one pool), and a couple of small restaurants. On the weekends it is packed and the pool areas are jammed with mostly families and small children. It empties out on the weekdays. We had a problem with our electric pedestal and they were very quick to fix it. There is almost nothing to do in the surrounding area. The biggest negative is that you have to pay for wifi and it isn't cheap if you want the premium package for streaming. In this day and age nobody should be charging for wifi anymore. It's a nicely kept park but just a bit busy for our taste. We camped at Cajun Palms RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Almost empty during the week and packed on the weekend. Great place for families as there is so much to do including the water park and pool area. Swim-up bar and very large jacuzzi for adults only. They have some activities on the weekend as well. Miniature golf doesn't have any grass glued to the concrete. Wifi is additional cost and not cheap. Lots of cable channels. All hook-ups worked well. The sites on the west side have dead looking palm trees. Most of the sites on the east side have a medium sized shade tree but not always in the spot you might like it to be. Otherwise the sites are concrete and grass. Plenty of grass around for dog walking, although no dog park. You do have to wear a wrist band for access to the resort and the amenities. Washers were $1.50 and dryers $1.25. We would stay again if in the area. We camped at Cajun Palms RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a pricey overnight. The park is clean and everything works as it should. However, there is damage to most of the palm trees as a result of past storms. It makes the park look a little ragged. Construction around I-10 to the park make it a little congested. The park is losing it's "Resort" theme.... We camped at Cajun Palms RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed 2 nites. There were very few other campers in the park. I suspect it is quite full on weekends. We stayed here in a 45' motorhome and our space was easy to get to and to leave. I-10 was under construction in this area and the work extended almost to the entrance of the campground. The roads were not very good, but they were navigable. We toured the area while there and enjoyed the shrimp Po-Boys. We didn't use any of the facilities in the campground, but the pools looked nice. It is a very good spot to spend a night while traveling on I-10 and I suspect it's a fun place on weekends. We camped at Cajun Palms RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This park was perfect for our stay to attend the Crawfish Festival. The not enforcing the rule of loud music ruined it for us. There are signs everywhere stating loud music will not be allowed. But a few was ruining it for many with the loud music. When big speakers are posted outside the rv that is not good. We camped at Cajun Palms RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed two nights. Easy access from I-10, but far enough away that there is no I-10 traffic noise. There is good signage and it's easy to find. Staff is very pleasant. Easy to navigate a big rig in the park except they need to trim the trees so that they don't brush against the RVs. Also the trees can be a problem on many sites when you are leaving. Some of the trees are planted in bad locations. There was some sort of utility box near the back of our site which made it aggravating pulling in. The metal posts protecting the box clearly indicated that they had been hit by RVs. The roads and pads are concrete. The utilities were toward the back of our pull through site, but worked well. The WiFi is not free. A real bummer. Verizon signal was okay. The cable has numerous channels and come in clearly. They want you to wear wrist bands. I didn't like that. I doubt we would stay here again primarily because of the trees not being trimmed and the WiFi not being free. We camped at Cajun Palms RV Resort in a Motorhome.

For two years now, hot tubs did not work. Told by maintenance, not enough money to repair it. Even though we had reservations for a certain campsite (with a receipt), the office made a mistake and we have to move sites. We were here for two months. Site surface is a concrete pad, some lots provide shade. We camped at Cajun Palms RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

The park roads were paved and easily maneuverable with a 36' DP motorhome. This was a large park with 340 sites, and it was truly a resort, with a water park and lots of family oriented games. Our site had very nice lush green grass, which is more important if you have dogs. There was a cable TV connection that worked very well. The water was easy to connect to, and the water pressure was good. The RV parking pad was concrete and was in good condition. The WiFi connection was good and the internet bandwidth was very good. Verizon cell signal was 5 out of 5 bars. We don't use restrooms, showers or pools, so we can't render an opinion on those items. There was a very nice dog park for our 4 footed friends (we travel with 3 golden retrievers). We did not notice any significant road noise, but noise like that doesn't bother us anyway. The price was reasonable for the services received, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Cajun Palms RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed one night while passing through (CA to FL). Rate was $35 less 10% Good Sam plus tax. Total paid was $35.76. Called the day of arrival to check availability. Was told they had plenty of space and to come on in. This was the Saturday night of President's Day weekend. There is significant road construction at the freeway on/off ramps which are very dicey especially at night. Go slow and be extra careful. Other than that, the CG is easy on/off and easy to find. Staff was friendly. Check-in was efficient. There is a small store inside the office. We were escorted to our site and offered assistance to hook-up (we declined). Interior roads are cement and a bit tight but definitely do-able for big rigs. We had a level, cement pull-through which was plenty long for our motorhome plus Jeep toad. We did not unhook. All hook-ups worked well. Satisfactory Verizon cell, wifi and DirecTV signals. Did not see any recycling options. CG was generally clean but had some trash here and there including numerous cigarette butts in our site (my pet peeve). It was very quiet at night. We did not notice any road noise. We met several neighbors who were all very nice. This campground has extensive amenities including severals pools, swim-up bar, water slide, spa, put-put, playground and game/arcade room. I imagine it's a very popular place in the Summer for families. Unfortunately the pool/spa area was closed during our visit. We were disappointed as we were counting on the spa after a long day of travel and their website didn't reveal that it was closed. In any event, we had a nice stay and would be happy to stay again. We camped at Cajun Palms RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We did not explore area or eat out but were told by front office at check-in of two nearby restaurants that deliver. They provided us with menus for both. One restaurant will even send a car to pick you up.

This place was recommended to us by a fellow camper and it did not disappoint! It truly is an RV resort with 2 pools, large hot tub (adults only), water park for the kiddos, 2 stocked fishing ponds, mini golf, volleyball, playground, video arcade, workout room, theatre room, several bar areas, nice park store, cabin rentals, large laundry area and propane sold on site. All sites are concrete, level and double wide (with a handful of triple wide sites). They offer pull through, back in and even covered RV sites. The only negative is that the sites are somewhat short (tow vehicle has to be parked next to your RV), but you still have plenty of room for everything. The sites are 45 degree angles with strips of grass in between, but no landscaping except for one palm tree. Good power/sewer placement, good water pressure, 70+ cable channels included and excellent Verizon signal. Trash picked up daily from your site. Bathroom/shower area was large and spotlessly clean every day. The weekend was pretty full, but a ghost town during the week. I'm sure it's packed during the summer. They are currently building more cabins and will be adding another 130+ rv spaces in the near future. Down the street is a restaurant and go kart track as well as a dinosaur park making it ideal for families and kids. There is another restaurant next door within easy walking distance from the park which was very good. As others have stated, the weekends can be noisy and there's no shortage of golf carts riding around. There's not much else to do in the area, but Lafayette is close to visit and Baton Rouge is less than an hour away. Daily rate includes taxes and fees, and we also received one night free for staying a week. They also give a Good Sam discount. The pool was closed for the season. We would definitely return, but will make sure the pool is open next time. We camped at Cajun Palms RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

They are doing road construction on I-10 and 347 (both directions) so getting on/off the freeway can be a challenge. You will have to make tight (but doable) turns to get onto 347 no matter which direction you are coming from. Walmart is 7-8 miles away. If you need RV supplies, you can go to Dixie RV (close to Walmart) or Camping World in Lafayette.

Was fairly empty for xmas then almost full for New Years. Park is kept very clean. They adhere to the quiet hours rule. Grounds crew is very friendly. The reception desk didn't make me feel particularly welcome. I was glad to see the park owner shut down an impromptu LOUD speakers karaoke party erupting in the park. Woke my kids. Since is was Dec/Jan and super cold, pool, arcade upper deck closed. I think the summer months have this place hopping. The pool area is outstanding and a huge hit with kids and adults. The area around park is quiet. Freeway far enough away to be a non issue. There are some nice restaurants nearby. Diesel gas too. Walmart not far off. Propane on site, with a small store as well. Security is very good. Felt safe and secure entire two week visit. Bathrooms are tidy and very large. Single units with tiolet, sink and big showers. Lots of hot water and good water pressure. Yay! Cable is good, internet is purchase only. I'm thinking when this park is full getting in and out of your site can be a challenge. At least in our area of the park. Our tail end just cleared the road and whenever anyone drove past pulling their rig, I could see their nose hairs from my back window. That's a bit close for me. Thankfully there weren't many folks in the park during our stay or I would have been not very happy having trucks/rigs driving that close to our parked fiver. Overall a very good play to stay. This was an overnight stay for us but thought it was a great park. Very spacious sites with picnic tables and grass in between sites, level concrete pads, no problems with the 50 amp or water. Cable is available but we used our satellite. The park also escorts you to your site. The only little negative is there's a charge for wifi, although free at the clubhouse. We'll be back again.
