Overall Rating:

The rate listed reflects the weekly rate. Let's get the bad stuff out of the way first: when it rains the sites get very muddy, there is lots of road noise, and the voltage of the power at our site (45) appeared to be a little low.

Now for the good stuff. Most sites are very nicely shaded and very spacious. The laundry facility and restrooms are very nice. The staff that we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. Getting in and out is very easy with easy access on and off I-10 (now I-10 itself between Baton Rouge and Lafayette is another story - it's terrible).

We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Pioneer Acadian Village Campground and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Cajun Market Donuts in Breaux Bridge is excellent but plan on a 15 minute wait to get to the cash register. Mardi Gras in Lafayette is a family-friendly affair and lots of fun. Don't miss the Lafayette Science Museum if you have kids. A small but very nice and affordable museum in downtown Lafayette.

Gated campground, about 50 sites, Campground backs up to the woods and faces I-10 so some highway noise is there. Pull-thru site 36/37, 50 amp on site 36, 30 amp on 37. Gravel site, Had rained before we got there. No drainage. No cable, Typical campground Wifi. Dog park and large field for kids to play in. Good campground for overnight stop. We would stop here again. We camped at Pioneer Acadian Village Campground and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Easy interstate on/off access.

We just showed up and they were happy to see us. Check in was friendly and efficient. They gave us pick of sites, always appreciated. Site and all roads inside gate were gravel and leaves. Potholes should be fixed as it makes it bumpy to get to your site. Easy back in sites, some pull thru sites.

Wash house was great, clean and spacious.

Gated so you and your stuff feel safe. We camped at Pioneer Acadian Village Campground and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Great place to stay when visiting Avery Island, Plantations, and Rice factory.

Road noise from I-10, continuous so you get used to it.

Sites plenty wide and long. Utilities worked well including WIFI, but 50 amp connection does not include a circuit breaker at the post. There is no cable TV, but we got sketchy reception of the broadcast channels on our antenna. Entry road has multiple potholes. Park is at the end of a dead end road and has a good gate that requires entering a code. Surprisingly little road noise since the park is adjacent to I-10. We camped at Pioneer Acadian Village Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Enjoyed eating at Buck and Henry's.

Restrooms and showers very clean and well equipped. Sites are back-in on gravel. Reception was friendly and helpful. After set up the owner came over and asked if we needed anything. Really a nice park; On the down side it is a little dusty and next to an Interstate freeway but sites at the west half of park have a tree separation. A easy central location to explore the Bayou. Daily rate is 1/7 of weekly rate. We camped at Pioneer Acadian Village Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Good location for a one-night stay while traveling I-10. Easy on/off access to the interstate. Park is gated, but rather rural-looking. Sites are under tall trees; we were surprised to get satellite TV. Sites are essential sandy dirt with some stones. It had been raining the day before but there were only a few puddles and the ground was firm enough to drive on without a problem. Our "pull through" site was actually two sites which we sort of pulled through. It worked although it was easier to disconnect the car and turn the MH around than to try to turn around in the park's small turning circle. The managers are also the owners and they live on the premises. They were very nice. We camped at Pioneer Acadian Village Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There's a Pilot truck stop at the I-10 exit for this park which makes filling up quite convenient.

Easy on & off I-20. Flat level area - many potholes going in and out. Good for overnight stop and would stay again for one night. Very nice dog park and play area for kids. We camped at Pioneer Acadian Village Campground and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Wife and I consider this a hidden gem! We had to be at our RV Dealer less than 10 miles from this park so we decided to stay over night instead of a 100 mile drive first thing in the morning. We were worried about interstate noise, while outside you do hear it but inside our trailer with the AC running we could not hear a thing. As stated in previous reviews the road and sites are gravel and do get dusty but once you are in your spot it is not bad at all. I would say 90% of the sites are backed up the trees and have some shade and ample parking. We were directly across from the bath house on site 39. The bathhouse was extremely clean well maintained and well decorated. Our puppies LOVED the dog park, which was also very clean as all owners were picking up after their pets. Not many amenities in the park to speak of that we noticed. We did come to the conclusion if we every go on a vacation in the Lafayette area this will be the park we stay at. Centrally located, close to stores and restaurants, easy on and off I-10.
WiFi did work well to check email and surf. AT&T and Verizon have full signals. We camped at Pioneer Acadian Village Campground and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

It was Sunday, so no employees were present. We called ahead and the employee left an envelope for us, which provided site and gate code.

The site was level, with gravel roads. The highway noise was very loud, despite having a tree buffer. We stayed one night. I would not recommend staying here because of the noise. Even with the air conditioner on, it was loud. We camped at Pioneer Acadian Village Campground and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The area where the RV sites are didn't have a lot of grass, mostly gravel, so it became very dusty. It is conveniently located right off of I-10 so it is easily accessible. The downside to this is you will likely hear traffic off of I-10, but it isn't too bad. We had full hookups, back-in, with 50 amps. We only stayed one night. They have a security gate and the bathrooms were very clean. We had excellent satellite and Verizon cell phone reception, and WIFI was satisfactory. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We recommend this campground to others and would stay here again if we're in the area. We camped at Pioneer Acadian Village Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great place to stay for the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival because it is about 1 mile away!

The manager or owner greeted us with a friendly smile and took the time to step out of the office and wave to us as we left the next day. She was very friendly, helpful regarding area restaurants and generally a joy to meet. Management lives on site next to the office and security gate, which is closed at night. The campground is conveniently close to I-10, but our campsite was shielded by a group of trees which served to shield some of the highway noise. The campground appears to be well kept. We were here after some heavy rains, so there was some pooling of water in places, but overall, drainage appeared to be OK. We didn't use any of the common areas such as laundry or bath house. There is a large field where children can play. The campground is close to the Bayou Teche, but it was too wet to get down to the dock because of the recent rains. We camped at Pioneer Acadian Village Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Pont Breaux Restaurant nearby has nightly Cajun Music, although we were there too early to listen. The fried alligator was very good and the frog legs were huge!

Lovely overnight stay. Lot #39 was right across the street from the laundry/bath facilities. The structure also contains a lovely little room with a wonderful assortment of magazines, including People, air conditioning, comfortable sofa, and big screen TV. Also outside there is a fenced in doggie area and pleasant little garden. Path to Bayou Tech nearby but dock partially damaged from recent storm. Hosts couldn't have more friendly and generous without being too "nosy" or talkative. Biggest drawback is the noise from the Interstate which is right there. But we couldn't hear it once in our RV. WalMart across the street. We camped at Pioneer Acadian Village Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Had dinner from Athena Restaurant (Greek and Lebanese food) which delivered food right to our campsite!

What a nice campground, these people really care about this place. Yes, it is next to the freeway and has no cable, that is why I gave it a 4 stars. The owners are really sweet and nice. $32 a night with God Sam discount. Close to everything. The cleanest restroom I have ever seen. Nice big showers. Laundry area was clean to. TV room has a big leather couch and has air. Beautiful plants everywhere. We camped at Pioneer Acadian Village Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a very convenient park for a visit to the Cajun area - very close of Breaux Bridge historical district. It is even close to a Walmart. The bath house, laundry and lounge are all spotless, even pretty. There are places to hang clothes and put shampoo bottles in the shower area. We were there during a cold spell and the shower room was nicely heated. The park is obviously being renovated and refurbished, so there still needs to be work done on the gravel roads. This seems like a great place for a small group/ caravan to meet with the fire pit over looking the Bayou Teche. The office ladies are very friendly and helpful with plenty of information about the area. We hope to return to Cajun County and will stay there again. We camped at Pioneer Acadian Village Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The office is closed on Sunday. Do not arrive on Sunday unless you have a reservation and code for the gate.

Pioneer Acadian Village is incredible. I have stayed at several RV parks and this is by far the best! The owners are some of the kindest people on the earth. The hookups are easily accessible. There is no problem with mud in the campground, nice gravel groundcover throughout the park and RV sites. My grand-puppy loved the fenced doggie park. The showers are spa-like. The laundry room even has a folding table, ironing board and an iron. There are beautiful plants and flowers all over the park and the entire park is amazingly clean, peaceful and enjoyable. I highly recommend it! We camped at Pioneer Acadian Village Campground and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots of great things to do in the area, enjoy the culture and the friendly people and excellent Cajun restaurants!
