Heading west and decided to try out this campground. Boy, are we glad we did. The person who checked us in was very helpful and accommodating. We went and found our spot and got set up. Next on the agenda; throwing our lines out into the private ponds on the property. No luck, we didn't really have the right gear, but we had fun. Bait is available in the office. Since we were only here two days decided not to purchase. Gravel roads throughout the park, not too rough. All sites have cement pads, full hook ups. Decent amount of space between rigs. Most sites are on the ponds. Grounds were immaculate. Bathrooms, laundry and pool very clean. Free wifi. They have a clubhouse and a screened pavillion. Small play set for the kiddos. They also have a few cabins for rent. Good satellite and verizon service. Would definitely recommend this property. We camped at Poche's Fish-N-Camp in a Motorhome.Undo

Poche's was a pleasant surprise - a very pleasant surprise. We ended up here only because it was a Passport America park and we needed an overnight stop. It was frankly hard to leave the next day. Poche's is on our short list of parks we will definitely go back to when we are in that part of the world again. The park is designed around three large lakes and all but 11 of the sites are right on the water (they are just across the road). The folks at the office were extremely friendly and helpful. Fishing is a huge draw here and since these are privately owned manmade lakes, no fishing licenses are needed. There are also several cabins for rent here. It was nice walking around the lakes and seeing all the folks sitting out in lawn chairs with lines in the water. They have a large clubhouse on one of the lakes and there are fish cleaning stations all over. It's a really well thought out and constructed park. The only warning I would give is to follow the directions to the park carefully. All the turns were well-signed so no problem there. These are rural roads and if you miss your turns, there aren't many places to safely turn an RV around. It's a few miles off the highway on some narrow Louisiana rural roads but Poche's is well worth the drive. We camped at Poche's Fish-N-Camp in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

Stayed for week on our way to Arizona. This is not a resort, but a good clean, quiet campground with easy access, large sites with level concrete pads, and good water, hydro and decent wi-fi. All sites are on the water, and the sunsets are fantastic. Saw some people actually catch fish. Too cold for the pool to be open, but it's there for warmer times. Small laundry room, but clean. I'd seen that FMCA holds chapter rallies here; I can see why. Good RV parking and a huge community hall for the social activities. It's in the heart of Cajun country and a good base from which to explore the area. But expect your vehicle(s) to get dusty because of the roads, even though everyone abided by the 10 mph limit. We'll stay again if ever we're back in the area. We camped at Poche's Fish-N-Camp in a Motorhome.Undo

The rate was a Passport America rate. They are located about 2 miles from I-10 with good directions and signs posted along the route. We stayed only one night and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The campground was peaceful and quiet with several large lakes. They seem more geared to the fish camp than the RV side, although we found the site to be adequate. Although we didn't try to fish, our neighbor was doing so without any luck. We did have an issue with low water pressure so we ended up using our tank water instead. There is also a lot of road dust and the roads are a bit narrow, but not so much so that we couldn't get our 40"' 5th wheel backed in. There isn't a lot of shade trees so the place might be hot in the summer but we would camp here again. We camped at Poche's Fish-N-Camp in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

This is the Passport America rate. We really liked this campground. The roads are gravel but very well maintained. Some sites are gravel but most are concrete and almost all are lakeside. The pull thrus are wide and long enough for big rigs. The lakes are beautiful and we really enjoyed watching the herons. They went out of their way to help us when we had problems with our trailer. We don't fish but anyone who does would love it here! They have several rental cabins right on the lake. The laundry was clean and had 4 washers and dryers. We are self-contained so did not use the restrooms or showers but, as well as everything else is taken care of, I would imagine they are fine. They have a very large clubhouse that everyone seemed to hang out at. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Poche's Fish-N-Camp in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

The campground is about 2 miles from I-10, down winding rural roads. Directions on the website are accurate and frequent signs posted along the route are helpful. There were no picnic tables and fire rings are shared. The owner told us to roll one over and put it wherever we wanted. The owner and staff were friendly and attentive to the park and guests offering area info, treating for ants and picking up trash. This campground is more water than campsites, hence the name "Fish"-N-Camp. We threw out a line a couple of times without a bite. We spent most of our time enjoying the local cuisine and activities. We highly recommend the Cajun Food Tour, Whiskey River Landing, the Black Pot Festival and Poche's Meat Market. When we were in camp the park was quiet and we enjoyed sitting by the lake watching the waterfowl. The biggest negative was the road dust. Spaces are close, roads are narrow and ours had a drop off across. We had to wake our neighbor and ask them to move their car so we could pull out of our campsite. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. One of our favorite parks anywhere. Every site is a waterfront site, since they have at least 3 lakes on the property. Very easy back-ins and a few pull-throughs as well. We love this park. We always end up staying longer than originally planned. We used our Passport America discount, which made it even better. We camped at Poche's Fish-N-Camp in a Motorhome.Undo

This is a nice campground with level pads and wide enough spaces to be comfortable sites and all are around the lake. There are 4 pull-throughs available. There is a pool available and the kids there had fun swimming and fishing. Wi-Fi was iffy but other than that no complaints except for no dog park. Good fishing. If you go try to get on the back side, as the sites which are in between both lakes catch a lot of dust from everyone driving past on the main roads which are all gravel. Also their meat market a couple of miles from the fish market is a place not to miss. We camped at Poche's Fish-N-Camp in a Motorhome.Undo

We made reservations over 6 weeks ago. We were put in space 19 gravel and unable to have enough levelers. Only other space they offered was 21 and that was OK. We wanted around lake and close to the bathrooms, but not possible. Two showers in bathhouse next to pool with two toilets. All just with a shower curtain closure. Rustic cement floors, and they weren't very clean. No paper towels in men's toilet all weekend. We met the owner later and she seemed very nice. I didn't mention the site problems since it was too late. It's very quiet and pretty with the fishing lakes. We appreciated coming home in the evening after the hustle bustle and congestion in Breaux Bridge. The pool was very clean and nice, but cold. But the worse was that WiFi didn't work at all for the four days on our two I pads, but it was "OK" for my husbands computer. That has never happened before. Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $35.00
A great place to stay, but very dusty when the wind blows due to the gravel road. Paved sites, with very good hook-ups. Very friendly and helpful staff, and if you like to fish from the bank for bass, brim, or catfish this is indeed a great place to spend your time. All sites are on the pond with good views fore and aft. It is off the beaten track and the road leading to the camp is narrow and winding. Note: Take exit 2 off of I-49, on to 98 to Sawmill road. If you try getting off I-10. which is shorter, you must go over a very small bridge that would be difficult to negotiate due to the turn you must take to pass into the town. However, this same road would be good for leaving the camp. We didn't get a chance to fish the five ponds, but had planned to before we had coach problems and had to arrange for repair in Hammond, La (Dixie RV). The only reason I gave this an 8 was the dust, everything else was great. We camped at Poche's Fish-N-Camp in a Motorhome.Undo

Good place to get some rest, some fishing and some relaxation. Sites are on cement slabs, most sites are on the lakes. People are friendly. We would camp there anytime again. We camped at Poche's Fish-N-Camp in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

Rate reflects PA discount. Most sites are gravel and were slightly rutted but we did not need to level. We had a back-in site on the lake. Sites are not huge but large enough. Best part is that it is far enough away from I-49 and I-10 to be quiet but not too inconvenient. We stayed one night. Person who checked us in was very kind, and nicely asked if we would take a back-in instead of the pull through we reserved. They had a motor home with toad coming in and they only have 2 pull-throughs. We camped at Poche's Fish-N-Camp in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

Price reflects PA rate. Some restrictions. Loved the park and Virdy your host will make you feel right at home. Nice and clean everywhere. Bathrooms great and nice laundry. Pool looked great but was too early in the year to be opened, too bad! Lots of fishing in the stocked ponds. Lots to do in area too!! Really enjoyed our stay!! Would definitely return!! Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $18.00
We stayed here overnight, it was quite a way off the I-10 and the roads to get there were a little rough. The pool was closed for the season, it was quiet because there were not many RV's in the park. We didn't get a warm fuzzy feeling from the office.
