Very quiet, lots of trees, loooonnng site. Despite the complaints about website directions, we were able to find this with little trouble using Google Maps. Stayed here just one night. Would stay here again. - OlderGoat
Mar 2017 - $15.00
Very quiet, scenic campground in the Caney Lakes Recreation Area of the Kisatchie National Forest. Nature trail around lake as well as bike trail available. Level campsite with gravel pad in addition to asphalt parking pad. Bathroom and shower facilities adequate and private. - CherylRV

This campground was a disappointment. It is in need a of an update. As a previous camper stated, the signage was lacking, even once we found the campground. The sites were large, with picnic table and fire ring. The asphalt pad was not in good shape, and hard to find a level spot. Since we are not self-contained, bathrooms and showers are a necessity. These were ok, clean and flush toilets, but we declined to take a shower since we would be home the next day. After dark, be sure to take a flashlight, since the lights are not working. We probably not be camping here again. - ahh-scapers

Short-termer's are put in sites which are very tight, all gravel and right by a very noisy road. Facilities otherwise are very good but plenty of sites farther away from the road were open and would have been quieter and better spaced. Have not seen any charges show on our account so "Nightly Rate" above is a guess. No sign of staff although phone calls are answered promptly from somewhere. Use primarily as an overnight stop. - Grumpier99

Easy access of I20. Big sign in office window to call for easy registration. Made the call and it was easy. Had a site up front. Good for an overnight stop. - Traveller101

This was just an overnight stay for us on our way home. The restrooms/showers were individual (toilet, shower, sink in each separate room) which is always a bonus and were really clean. The laundry room seemed really nice and had a flat screen tv. My big complaint is how unbelievably unlevel our site was. We have automatic levelers and after trying twice to get us reasonably level with no success, I finally gave up. Also, the sites are the narrowest I've ever seen. You truly cannot put your slides out all the way. One positive note is that there are 4 or 5 restaurants within a block of the park where you can walk and not have to unhook. I would most likely not stay here again unless absolutely necessary due to the unlevel site. - golfkitty

We loved this campground as there were few in the park the weekend we stayed and we had no neighbors on either side of us. The view was beautiful and the full hookup was nice. We would give this an overall rating of 10 except for the rude staff upon check-in. We knew check-in was by 4:45 pm and as it was our first time camping we were taking a little longer than expected on the road. We called en route and told them we were on our way and expected to be there between 4:50 and 5pm per our GPS. The lady answering the phone was very cold and told us if we were not there by 4:45pm the gates would be locked and we would not be allowed in. I told her we were on our way and she was very rude and said again the gates would lock at 4:45pm. We debated on turning around and decided to go for it. We pulled in at 4:46pm and there was a staff member literally pulling the gate closed but we went on in. We were given our paperwork with no directions on the location of anything, nothing. Had it not been for the beautiful surroundings we would not be back. Just went by another campsite and the difference between staff was night and day. I have read other reviews about the rude staff and they were point on. - onlaketime
Jul 2016 - $25.00
We stayed two nights the weekend after July 4th. We asked for and received a full hookup slot, which was nice. The site was level.
The picnic table and fire pit were on the opposite side of our RV, which I found odd. We did not use them so it wasn't a huge deal.
The site had a lot of cigarette butts and small pieces of trash scattered around it, which is why I can only give it 3 stars for cleanliness. It was as if the trash was mowed over instead of picked up.
The staff was friendly and there is a highly visible yet unobtrusive presence by the Park Rangers and Sheriff's Office.
There was no loud music or wild behavior and everyone was very respectful of everyone else. - GaryWB
Jun 2016 - $28.00
This is our favorite campground so far. We live close by so that helps. The campgrounds are very shady and there is a lot of wildlife. There is a swimming beach close by as well as boat launches. They have plans to make all the campsites full hookups. Not all of the sites are level by any means and as previously stated some of the sites are poorly laid out. All things said it is a good place to camp. - bmorris549

Stayed overnight passing through. The grass was tall, the road was rough and a little muddy. No restaurant as advertised. Many permanents with rundown campers here. - Jloftin

This will be our last inspection of this park! It is obvious that it will never change. There is a new Black Top road into the property but the park it self is beyond words. We inspect hundreds of parks a year and this one is on the top of the list of being the worst of the worst. The new owner and managers are not experienced in operating an RV Park. They allow very old and ran down RVs in the park with large amount of clutter to be stored around the site. It is obvious that the previous owner passed on the bad habits. All sites are in very bad condition, the electric connections are old and worn. There was no wireless signal, no cable and the park stunk of sewer gas. Both the laundry room and bathrooms are in bad condition and should be condemn. I read a previous review rating this park above a half star, I assure you that either this person is on staff here or they rated the wrong park. The entire park needs to be leveled and start all over! The only thing missing here is the faint noise of a Banjo and guitar playing in the back ground, they have the river! - rvreporterontheroad

To begin we have been here before and were very disappointed! We were told that a new owner and managers had taken over so we decided to try it again. Our Children live close to the park and it would be nice to be close to them. The new road entering the park is great, but as soon as you crest the top of the levee it quickly changes. The internal roads are terrible, there are a number of very old campers that actually look abandoned with papers taped to the doors. The rigs that are lived in are in terrible condition with piles of junk around them. There was even washer/dryer combination unit outside to the trailers. The laundry room is clean but in very bad condition as well as the bathrooms. The sites have deep ruts from previous RVs getting stuck and sinking. The new managers are nice but have no clue on RVing or what it takes to run a park! The so called NEW wifi was very weak and extremely slow (snail mail would have been faster)! It appears they took a system that belongs in a single home and tried to apply it to the park. It was quiet but the electric voltage was between 108 to 110, too low for our rig. We will stay elsewhere even if we are further away from our kids. This is more of a run down long term hole in the mud than a RV Park. We have said it before but this time we will never return! - marcwtomas

I was referred to this park by another park in the area. After the first month I had to get out of there. To start let me say this, it is not an RV park! This is a mobile home park that has allowed RVs to stay long term. I was here on some medical issues and I witnessed things going on at night that was very bad. Vehicles were broken into, this is a very bad area of Bossier City. Several Police responses, loud music and teenage kids walking around all hours of the night. They do not offer any type of incentive whatsoever! You have to get your own electric, cable and if you want Internet you must sign a contract. They are full of your typical people that hang out in mobile home parks. The electrical was terrible and when it rained my rig actually sunk in the mud so bad I have to leave very quickly! And as far as the so-called Criminal Check. I gave them information and they did not even check my I.D. By the way, I had to pay for the so-called check and I thought it was strange especially since I gave them a false birth date. The Pool was so tiny that if there are two people in it it is crowded. This is not a RV park in any manner and should not be listed here. I would question the first and only entry, sounds as if they used it as an advertisement for their "Trailer Park"! - judgemathewss
Aug 2010 - $38.00
My wife and I consider ourselves polite people. We full time RV since I retired. We needed a place in the Shreveport area and this was the only place that was available. Upon arrival we soon discovered this is not an RV Park but a very small and narrow road trailer park. Several vehicles parked everywhere. We were concerned about the area so we asked a police officer that was exiting the park if this was a safe place for retired people to stay. He stated "Only if you want to get robbed"! Then he laughed and drove out. The manager was not in. We waited for 45 minutes, during that time we spoke with some residents that were sitting in the pool area. The pool is very small but appeared to be clean. The residents informed us that all of the trailers are rented by people working in the area. No laundry facilities, no cable, Wi-Fi or anything else. We walked around the property only to hear someone screaming at another in a trailer. We looked at the site and there is not way we could fit in the site, the turns are so tight that it would be impossible and with all of the cars parked in the street. I decided to stay the one night and depart very early. I was very concerned, there were young kids out at two in the morning walking around, we were not comfortable at all. We have canceled our plans to stay in the area and have decided to move on to Florida. - marcwtomas
Jul 2010 - $30.00
My wife wanted to stay in the Shreveport area to visit old friends for at least a month. We called all of the parks and this is the only one that had a space. This is prior to any reviews posted. I have to "DITTO" the other reviews that reflect a POOR rating. The review giving this place 5 stars sounds like an advertisement more than anything else. This is not an RV park by any means. They are way over their heads! It is simply a mobile home park that has the same issues as other mobile home parks do. If I wanted to live like this I would buy a mobile home. I elected to own a nice RV to travel in. During our three week stay our rig was damaged three different times by children throwing rocks, riding bicycles, and just general being children. There are no boundaries for the kids there, they are allowed to run wild all day and all night! Some times in to the early morning I witnessed children out at 2:00 AM. The surrounding area is one that you do not want to go out at night! Our neighbor has several tools stolen from his truck and I lost a hitch and ball for my tow vehicle. Again, we stayed here because this was the only place at the time. Running a RV park is much different than running a mobile home park and it is evident they will not make the transition very easily, if ever! Now for the site specifics. Very noisy, power was always in the red, we have three A/C's and we were lucky to run one with in conjunction with the other items such as TV, water heater, refrigerator, etc. They offer no amenities. The swimming pool is very small and with all the kids there we were never allowed to use it. The sites are very congested and cars are parked everywhere. We witnessed police responses on a number of occasions to domestic issues. We will never drop our standards like this again, it is a relief to be out of there and on the road again! - rvreporterontheroad
