Beautiful location on the lake but the campground bathroom facilities need a good scrub and re-do. The campsites are mostly back-in with good spacing and privacy between sites. The road through the campground is narrow but not a problem if you are careful. This campground is off the beaten path and was an enjoyable outdoor experience. However, because of the bathroom facilities I would look around at other public campgrounds in the area before I went back to this one. - Lance 47

We loved this park. The roads in were clear of branches and well maintained. The sites are very long and lots of space. Site surface was gravel and featured a fire ring and picnic table.
We had a fabulous view of the lake. We would have stayed longer if possible but will be back. - Jpicc

Once you find the campground it is nice. County/Parish roads are not marked well so it is easy to miss your turn. Heavily wooded because it is a National Forest but trees are kept back from each site so there is sun and shade during the day. Satellite access can be a challenge depending on site location. Interior roads are quite narrow, loop roads even more so. Backing into sites can be quite difficult for larger rigs because there is little to no shoulder to swing on. Ditches on either side of the loop road are deep with hidden culverts right where you don't want them to be. Even with satellite research to find the easiest back-in site there will be something to add a challenge. Once backed in the site is paved, wide, with picnic table and fire ring. Water and power hookups are where they should be and at knee to waist height. It's very quiet even backed up to the lake with little or no boat traffic. We'll stay here again, the two days we spent here were very relaxing. - Maximilian

Everything was very clean and tidy. The park was quiet and the laundry facility is new with new showers. I heard they were getting Internet access when we left. The owners were exceptionally helpful and very accommodating. - T Johnson
Aug 2017 - $38.00
Very noisy, crowded campground with a lot of permanent residents. The site was gravel with grass growing in it, very narrow, almost too narrow for us. Way overpriced. - Ace
Nov 2016 - $33.00
Short-termer's are put in sites which are very tight, all gravel and right by a very noisy road. Facilities otherwise are very good but plenty of sites farther away from the road were open and would have been quieter and better spaced. Have not seen any charges show on our account so "Nightly Rate" above is a guess. No sign of staff although phone calls are answered promptly from somewhere. Use primarily as an overnight stop. - Grumpier99

Easy access of I20. Big sign in office window to call for easy registration. Made the call and it was easy. Had a site up front. Good for an overnight stop. - Traveller101

A great place to stay! The leaves were falling while we were there, but the grounds are beautiful. The sites are well spaced out, but a little bumpy. We did not need to do any leveling, but the utilities on our site were on the curb side of the RV. Not a problem as there was plenty of room to move around and get close enough. There are deer, egrets and plenty of squirrels. The squirrels are a little shy, however. We saw why when a hawk cross the road in front of us carrying a black squirrel for dinner. There is also a small zoo that we spent a couple of hours visiting. - geode

We loved this campground as there were few in the park the weekend we stayed and we had no neighbors on either side of us. The view was beautiful and the full hookup was nice. We would give this an overall rating of 10 except for the rude staff upon check-in. We knew check-in was by 4:45 pm and as it was our first time camping we were taking a little longer than expected on the road. We called en route and told them we were on our way and expected to be there between 4:50 and 5pm per our GPS. The lady answering the phone was very cold and told us if we were not there by 4:45pm the gates would be locked and we would not be allowed in. I told her we were on our way and she was very rude and said again the gates would lock at 4:45pm. We debated on turning around and decided to go for it. We pulled in at 4:46pm and there was a staff member literally pulling the gate closed but we went on in. We were given our paperwork with no directions on the location of anything, nothing. Had it not been for the beautiful surroundings we would not be back. Just went by another campsite and the difference between staff was night and day. I have read other reviews about the rude staff and they were point on. - onlaketime
Jul 2016 - $25.00
We stayed two nights the weekend after July 4th. We asked for and received a full hookup slot, which was nice. The site was level.
The picnic table and fire pit were on the opposite side of our RV, which I found odd. We did not use them so it wasn't a huge deal.
The site had a lot of cigarette butts and small pieces of trash scattered around it, which is why I can only give it 3 stars for cleanliness. It was as if the trash was mowed over instead of picked up.
The staff was friendly and there is a highly visible yet unobtrusive presence by the Park Rangers and Sheriff's Office.
There was no loud music or wild behavior and everyone was very respectful of everyone else. - GaryWB
Aug 2014 - $25.00
Stayed overnight passing through. The grass was tall, the road was rough and a little muddy. No restaurant as advertised. Many permanents with rundown campers here. - Jloftin

This will be our last inspection of this park! It is obvious that it will never change. There is a new Black Top road into the property but the park it self is beyond words. We inspect hundreds of parks a year and this one is on the top of the list of being the worst of the worst. The new owner and managers are not experienced in operating an RV Park. They allow very old and ran down RVs in the park with large amount of clutter to be stored around the site. It is obvious that the previous owner passed on the bad habits. All sites are in very bad condition, the electric connections are old and worn. There was no wireless signal, no cable and the park stunk of sewer gas. Both the laundry room and bathrooms are in bad condition and should be condemn. I read a previous review rating this park above a half star, I assure you that either this person is on staff here or they rated the wrong park. The entire park needs to be leveled and start all over! The only thing missing here is the faint noise of a Banjo and guitar playing in the back ground, they have the river! - rvreporterontheroad

To begin we have been here before and were very disappointed! We were told that a new owner and managers had taken over so we decided to try it again. Our Children live close to the park and it would be nice to be close to them. The new road entering the park is great, but as soon as you crest the top of the levee it quickly changes. The internal roads are terrible, there are a number of very old campers that actually look abandoned with papers taped to the doors. The rigs that are lived in are in terrible condition with piles of junk around them. There was even washer/dryer combination unit outside to the trailers. The laundry room is clean but in very bad condition as well as the bathrooms. The sites have deep ruts from previous RVs getting stuck and sinking. The new managers are nice but have no clue on RVing or what it takes to run a park! The so called NEW wifi was very weak and extremely slow (snail mail would have been faster)! It appears they took a system that belongs in a single home and tried to apply it to the park. It was quiet but the electric voltage was between 108 to 110, too low for our rig. We will stay elsewhere even if we are further away from our kids. This is more of a run down long term hole in the mud than a RV Park. We have said it before but this time we will never return! - marcwtomas
Sep 2017 - $1.00
I stayed here for several months and decided to write a review after seeing a few old reviews around 7 years ago, to update the reviews. Included in the cost is cable, wifi, water, sewer, trash, and 30 or 50 amp connectors. I enjoyed my stay. The property manager was just a sweet young man. The park is extremely clean and well kept. I would recommend this place to anyone. One of the best parks I have stayed in. The only downfall is they only do monthly rentals. - Joethomaas
Aug 2010 - $34.00
I was referred to this park by another park in the area. After the first month I had to get out of there. To start let me say this, it is not an RV park! This is a mobile home park that has allowed RVs to stay long term. I was here on some medical issues and I witnessed things going on at night that was very bad. Vehicles were broken into, this is a very bad area of Bossier City. Several Police responses, loud music and teenage kids walking around all hours of the night. They do not offer any type of incentive whatsoever! You have to get your own electric, cable and if you want Internet you must sign a contract. They are full of your typical people that hang out in mobile home parks. The electrical was terrible and when it rained my rig actually sunk in the mud so bad I have to leave very quickly! And as far as the so-called Criminal Check. I gave them information and they did not even check my I.D. By the way, I had to pay for the so-called check and I thought it was strange especially since I gave them a false birth date. The Pool was so tiny that if there are two people in it it is crowded. This is not a RV park in any manner and should not be listed here. I would question the first and only entry, sounds as if they used it as an advertisement for their "Trailer Park"! - judgemathewss
Aug 2010 - $38.00
My wife and I consider ourselves polite people. We full time RV since I retired. We needed a place in the Shreveport area and this was the only place that was available. Upon arrival we soon discovered this is not an RV Park but a very small and narrow road trailer park. Several vehicles parked everywhere. We were concerned about the area so we asked a police officer that was exiting the park if this was a safe place for retired people to stay. He stated "Only if you want to get robbed"! Then he laughed and drove out. The manager was not in. We waited for 45 minutes, during that time we spoke with some residents that were sitting in the pool area. The pool is very small but appeared to be clean. The residents informed us that all of the trailers are rented by people working in the area. No laundry facilities, no cable, Wi-Fi or anything else. We walked around the property only to hear someone screaming at another in a trailer. We looked at the site and there is not way we could fit in the site, the turns are so tight that it would be impossible and with all of the cars parked in the street. I decided to stay the one night and depart very early. I was very concerned, there were young kids out at two in the morning walking around, we were not comfortable at all. We have canceled our plans to stay in the area and have decided to move on to Florida. - marcwtomas
